Yes. More of a coincidence (that started it), and then life obligations just took away what free time I would have had.

I haven't played a video game since The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt Collected Edition in 2019.

My favourite IP's (around that time) seemingly ended and no new game for them came out before the life obligations started popping up.

Fallout 4 was 2015
Skyrim was 2011
Dragon Age Inquisition was 2014
Borderlands 2 was 2012
Assassin's Creed Black Flag was 2013
inFamous 2 was 2011
Nier: Automata was 2017
Grand Theft Auto 5 was 2014
Final Fantasy 13-3 was 2013

I know a few of them have had new installments either around 2019, so have had since, but they were either widely panned like Veilguard, or didn't have a complete or collected edition of some kind around the time PS4 was getting discontinued to make way for the PS5, which I didn't buy, like Borderlands 3 and the several new Assassin's Creeds since.

Got married, COVID happened (I was an essential services employee working 84 hours a week for 3 years), had three children, got promoted, changed companies for another promotion. Life comes at you fast. I'm now two console generations behind, and to this day some of the games I would play either aren't even in development (Arkham, Nier, Fallout), or they are STILL years away (Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, Witcher).

When im at work or just on the street im always listening to my music up until i suck the dopamine out of them and i end up just getting bored of listening to the same music over and over again.
Now i either listen to random youtube videos of any topic and sometimes some of my own music...but mostly youtube.
I still take my time to find new music but its very hard for something to catch my attention.

Quit vidya when I was grinding my thesis and I gotta say that was the worst and unhealthiest phase of my life.

I quit vidya for a while after I got burned out on PVP slop and thought I was done with vidya for good. Gave Kenshi a shot even though it didn’t look like my kinda game and put like 500 hours in immediately

I quit because I became homeless. Took nearly a decade to get to a point where I could relax enough to let myself play them again.
