I don't think that any video game has ever shaped my personality.

>Pokémon SapphireFirst game I ever played. Nothing spectacular nowadays, but it set me on my path away from trading card games. God knows how miserable I'd be if my dad never bought me that GBA.>Kirby: Nightmare in Dream LandFirst game I ever played to 100% completion, and the first one I beat on a "hard mode" setting. It's an easy game for either of those, but the reward of Meta Knightmare inspired my completionist attitude for many years to come.>Mario Kart: Double DashPlayed countless hours with my brother and my father throughout nearly the entire time I lived at home. I've always believed that the best video games of are the ones you can enjoy alongside your friends and family.>Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year DoorThe first game where I felt like I was truly engaging with its mechanics and coming up with strategies to optimize my gameplay. Played it a ton for charity events during college, too.>Super Smash Bros. BrawlThe first time I followed along with an upcoming game's development, and later it was the first game I learned how to mod. Counting mods, I also played a ton of Project M during college with people that are still my friends a decade later.>Super Mario Galaxy 2The first cooperative game that I ever beat alongside my brother, the most important person to me in the whole world. The soundtrack always reminds me of our shared adventure.>Portal 2First (real) video game I ever played on a non-Nintendo platform, and the first game I ever played online with friends. Team Fortress 2 is the game we played more, but I'm more attached to Portal 2.>Persona 3First game I ever played that felt like it had a real "message" it was trying to imprint on players. There were obviously plenty that existed before P3, and if I paid more attention to text in games when I was younger then something else could have been here, but I played P3 at a very particular time in my life, and its themes stuck with me. >UndertaleThere isn't enough room for me to write th

>>749076102Oh! You loved Tales of Eternia too! It's the game that taught me English.I'm Euro, sadly this chart generator doesn't include PAL titles.>>749076102>>749079491>>749082382We're all more or less from the generation and I also really liked all these games.I played Red Alert 2 more than 1 but it's with 1 that I have literal core memories from before I developped language.I also played Black but I dislike this game, a pretty decent game but with too much jank.
>>749076102I got a PS2 but played a lot more in the mall arcade.
OoT for the love of adventuring, Majora's Mask for establishing my love of atmosphere, and both for being my favourite games ever, from my favourite series ever. Pokémon Red for introducing me to JRPGs and RPGs in general. Super Mario World for the being first game I really dove into - after briefly getting to play a bit of stuff like Combat for Atari 2600 and Top Gun 2 multiplayer on NES but having to share with brothers and cousins - and thus the first one that truly pulled me into gaming. Diablo II for being the more-addictive-than-crack time sink that introduced me to co-op muliplayer, online gaming, loot-em-up gameplay mechanics, and full-on dungeon crawling. Sonic 3 for being the first time a game's soundtrack blew me away, and the first time I appreciated a game as a beginning-to-end experience. Turok for being my introduction to FPS, particularly of the old school fast-paced boomer shooter variety. Oblivion for introducing me to open world WRPG gaming and the sense of being drawn into another world to live another life. Star Fox Adventures literally just for being the game that turned me into a furry.
