>>749312221To be fair, even back then Marvel's characters had explanations because Marvel was making sci-fi stories that happened to be about superheroes.Also Superman used to have a scientific explanation for his abilities very early on. Krypton was just a planet that was more dense then Earth so Kryptonians evolved to be stronger due to the higher gravity. He didn't fly, couldn't shoot lasers from his eyes, and wasn't completely impervious to damage. He just could jump really high, run fast, was very strong, and his muscles and bones were dense enough that small arms didn't do much to him but artillery or other heavy ordinance could still hurt him. And then over time they started giving him other powers. For example, the flying was because in the first animation and live action adaptions, the bunny hopping across the countryside looked too silly so they just made him able to fly instead.
