Its not a lot of light but its better than nothing, and you can toss it around to check is this a safe landing beyond your screen or its so deep that glowfruit light doesn't reach you. And it may even trigger traps while its falling, making going down even more safer by disarming spike traps or forcing jump pads to recharge.

Reposting CPR tips and testing from the other day because it may save an anon's life.I know the best way to restart someone's heart with CPR is to zap them with a defibrillator first, then perform CPR until their heart restarts after about 15 to 30 seconds.It's worth noting we've discovered that with a manual defibrillator even a minimum strength 10J zap works with CPR. This is great because 10J charges instantly and uses basically zero battery power. It still toasts their chest skin HP and nipples and hurts as much as a 200J zap though lol.>his heart would beat for a second and then stop again,If you would successfully restart his heart with CPR alone but it would quickly fibrillate and flatline again, then I know that helpless feeling. I suspect it may be because restarting a heart with CPR alone restarts it with very high fibrillation which quickly progresses into flatlining. Whereas if you zap them with a defib first and then restart their heart with CPR their heart restarts with a perfectly healthy pulse with zero fibrillation.Blood oxygen level and respiratory rate is very important! Once I had an anon with maximum fatal hemothorax who was unable to breath and kept reviving him with defib and CPR, but he couldn't breathe so despite his heart restarting with zero fibrillation it would rapidly progress through every fibrillation stage and flatline because his blood oxygen was too low! < 75% I was only able to cure anon by draining his chest so he could finally breathe again.
Spamming 10J manual defib microzaps will also restart a heart very quickly with almost no battery use.The downside is it toasts your chest skin HP and is extremely painful. But fried nips and a possible bout of pain shock is far preferable to death!
Testing revealed CPR alone can restart a stopped heart. But without a defib zap it restarts with high fibrillation. In an otherwise perfectly healthy player, this doesn't matter, the high fibrillation will regress over time. In an injured player with reduced respiratory rate and/or low blood oxygen levels the high fibrillation will likely immediately proceed to flatlining as anons have discussed.In my webm the flatlined player has almost maximum blood oxygen, which is never the case in an actual game for a player with a stopped heart. In actual real gameplay blood oxygen levels with CPR are more like around 40 - 60% which causes the "heart restarted with CPR immediately flatlines" failure loop I and other anons have experienced before.

It seems low blood oxygen is indeed the cause of flatlining after restarting the heart with CPR. Lowering the test subject's blood oxygen resulted in his heart flatlining twice after being restarted by only CPR. Only once his blood oxygen increased high enough to what seems like > 70% did his restarted heart's fibrillation regress naturally.However in my experience with CPRing injured anons their blood oxygen levels only decreased over time, not increased, because of other severe injuries like hemothorax and low blood volume. This means that CPR will delay their death for someone else to come and give them the life saving medical treatment they require. But it will not save their life all by itself. When blood oxygen is decreasing despite CPR you are only slowing, not stopping, their inevitable brain death.If you cannot cure the underlying issues causing their decreasing blood oxygen then they are doomed. It's time to activate the IED and send them to expie heaven. Rest in peace little expie...

Oxyline is a lifesaver. It temporarily increases O2 levels and doubles blood volume regeneration rate. However I suspect that if the underlying problem(s) is not solved they'll just have a heart attack again when the oxyline wears off, like if they have extreme hemothorax and still can't breathe or have very low blood volume, but at least oxyline can help with the latter.>Wouldn't continuing the CPR for a more prolonged time help the player reach a stable respiratory rate/O2 level?You're correct, but there are complications. I just performed cpr for a long time on a critically low blood volume test subject. Performing CPR for such a long time tires out both your finger and your expie. Unless you have an additional player to take over CPR duty, you will eventually become too tired to maintain CPR and the moment you stop CPR their O2 levels plummet making you lose all your hard earned progress.And it even seems like low blood volume/pressure simply prevents CPR for restarting the heart at all.So I propose three main points for successful permanent CPR revival.1. Ensure they can breathe. No hemothorax or opiate overdose!2. Fill their blood volume.3. Administer antivenom if they have severe toxicosis, which reduces both blood volume and O2.

I will now talk about our experiences with the long awaited big v5 MP mod update.+- My performance as host is improved. I can host 8 players at about 40~ fps now, without any performance optimization mods. My fps would be in the single digits with the previous version. However my fps still plummeted to extremely low in layers 3, 4, and 5. Oil pipes are still fps-killers despite the v5 making them spew less oil. And the jungle is simply flooded with liquids by default which nukes fps.+ It seems like Server TPS is now decoupled from the host's fps which is a great change. Even when my fps was a slideshow the Server TPS was still a steady 50. Hopefully this means that the hosts low framerates won't effect the connected players as much or at all.+ Some anons reported better performance.- Some anons had new desync issues upon leaving and rejoining mid-layer. I could see their items, but they couldn't see them and appeared naked on their screens. And then sometimes the reverse happened where we all appeared naked and without items to them, but we weren't. I'm not sure what the fix was, I think maybe it eventually fixed itself over time?- Some anons had new issues getting stuck on the loading screen. It was always at the "clearing world" stage or something. It seemed like teleporting these players helped fix them.+ Tiles respawning after being mined was extremely rare.+ Spiders and salads had zero desync or teleportation at all, as far as I could tell. Really awesome stuff.- We experienced a terrible new item desync issue that seemed to arise after playing without restarting the lobby for hours. Crafted items would disappear. Right-clicking on items would make them disappear and cause an error pop-up. I fixed this by restarting both my game and my lobby.+- Whispering is now included in the mod. Yet I still prefer our anon's bespoke whisper mod.
+ The new health panel updates are great. You can see what other players are doing to the patient in real-time. I've had very important items vanish during trading or inventory transferal on two occasions, and a bunch of liquid container problems as well (contamination, unable to drain something, etc). Entertainment industry exists but it's mostly propaganda and/or educational material. Nobody got the lifespan to waste time on that kinda thing, and everyone needs to be educated fast. Families might or might not exist. Some species may like the idea. Others might not be able to handle it or despise it. Having them might be limited to some species as part of the caste system, or be something closer to mafia than families as we know them.
