You didn't hear this from me but... The first critic review of OoT has been written, not published on Metacritic yet and... he gave it a 6.5/10.The game is full of flaws the original didn't have. Missing animations where it just fades to black and plays a sound. The redesigned mechanics makes it so the reviewer kept falling off ledges because he pressed jump a split second late and a lot of the areas aren't well designed to have to redo the whole platforming segment where auto-jumps used to be safe. The voice acting made him cringe the whole game, and they made some confusing lore changes that they then never explain and it made the escalation point in the story feel kind of confused. Finally, there's just something off about the core gameplay the more you play it.He complains about loud footstep sounds that drill into your brain over long sessions, and feeling a headache because there's so much screenshake when you do simple strikes.Other than that it's the same game, but it just feels and vibes worse in almost every way.I'd hold off on pre-ordering if I were you.

>>749350148Let me guess, he's a russian brony?
>>749350148I got to play with it a bit and it was by FAR the most full of forced fun of any game I've ever seen in my career. What were they thinking?
>>749350148The VA thing is legit. It has to be an exec level decision because VAs are not that consistently terrible. The VA work in FE is incredible so it's not like Nintendo doesn't have good VAs in their network. Whoever is directing VA in the zelda franchise needed to be fired like 3 games ago.
>>749350656Bingo.
>>749350920It's probably NoA's fault in the end, because it's a bit like Sony vs SIE California, which is now the PlayStation HQ despite being managed by people in Japan. They don't understand how we do things overseas so they just need to trust us on our expertise. They think NoA are experts at handling something like Voice Acting, because the primary audience will be americans and europeans due to the profits. But we don't. Whoever is in charge at Nintendo Treehouse or wherever it happens when it comes to voice acting in Zelda and Mario, don't really know how to do it. They probably hired the cheapest option. Not even the cheapest & best. Just the absolute cheapest offer they had, and decided it's good enough, and the Japanese don't know if the result is bad or not, so they just allow it.I don't think there's any way that NoJ would allow mainline Mario and especially Zelda to have this dogshit tier acting, if they understood just how bad it is.
>>749350148I'm so tired of art portraying Zelda's ass as fat
>>749351120Its one of his calling cards so you can track him.
>>749350920>Whoever is directing VA in the zelda franchise needed to be fired like 3 games ago.Probably someone higher up, or a IGN Zelda fangirl like Audrey Drake, although she left.I know several IGN employees ended up joining Nintendo, and it's all a bit like Alanah Pearce. They got clout but it doesn't translate to talent at all, and it's pure cronyism.I always suspected they gave Bill Trinen or Nate Bihldorff too much exectuive power over Zelda and Mario when all they really were good at in the past was translating. He's credited under Localization Management, and he's been there since the N64 days. So it's possible he just choked when it came time to have voice acting on the american side to the franchise, which didn't happen before Breath of the Wild.
