I'm playing it off my jailbroken PS3 and its PS2 emulator with the original assets at original resolution, and reverse-patched Final Mix JP->En copy.Having a BLAST. It's 480p, it looks crunchy and BEAUTIFUL on my 4K screen at 4:3, and it really feels like "woww, I'm getting to play what everyone played as a kid 24 years ago, how it was back then."

Imagine just how poorly the Switch 2 will compare to the PS6 and and next gen Xbox in less than two years time. We'll be in the same situation as we were with the Switch, where there are third party modern games that the Switch 2 is entirely incapable of running.

The game was dunked on for being braindead easy even in Proud abd Reaction Commands were controversial at the time because they were seen as glorified QTEs and proof that the game was focusing on style over substance. The level design was also a massive downgrade from 1, and there was no side content aside from minigames and Sephiroth. 2FM was an attempt to “fix” the game, but even then they could only do bandaid fixes like adding a new difficulty or adding puzzle pieces to give you a reason to unlock the growth abilities, rather than actually fixing most of the game’s core problems. I always roll my eyes when people say that KH2 had the best Level 1 mode and that the other games’ Level 1 modes are unfair by comparison. 90% of 2 is babby-tier easy unless you play on Level 1, so of course that games that actually have challenge balanced around the RPG mechanics and going to have their Level 1 modes be significantly harder.
