the story and characters seemed interesting but I couldnt get past the parryslop gameplay. If I want a reaction test every random encounter I'd just play an action game. I know it's a different type of RPG, but look at Baldur's Gate 3. Can you technically make a beeline to the final battle the second you hit Act 3? Sure. There are only 2 mandatory fights (Orin and the Elder Brain). But even if you did literally every bit of side content in the game at prior to Act 3, you're still only level 10 and those endgame encounters are built around the expectation that you're level 12.
