When you're just talking with characters it's in its element although I don't agree with the Telltale Games stylized "reactions" when you say something. In terms of actual gameplay it's just a lot of running from point a to b in a barely lifeless Seattle hub. It's okay when you're Phyre because you can leap from rooftop to rooftop and glide down but Fabien is just holding down a button with no masquerade consequences. Combat is just on the verge of acceptable, feels alright when you're just slugging in out and landing blows but there's not much more to it than performing the same finisher animation or using an occasional ability. Stealth is the same old press button to neutralize enemy routine with detection meters. Actually upgrading Phyre can be annoying as well because gathering blood resonance isn't fun at all. Aside from that I don't know what you can really do. Guns can't be used except in a DLC or through telekinesis. That just leaves listening to the Bet of Night radio segments or collecting codex entries or those marks, crosses, cameras etc.

I have my gripes with VTMB but doing a Malkavian playthrough right after a normal one is unmatched experience that you cannot get in any other game out there as far as I'm aware.
