People still do shit like woodworking manually even though cnc machines exist. Maybe indie devs have to adopt the mindset that they are hobbyists and not expect to make money. Like people who write a book just so they can say they wrote a book. Or small time musicians who just play for fun. seems kind of entitled to assume you'll actually make money off something most people do for fun

Because they're talking to AI.
I've encountered many people like this. They grow accustomed to using AI in some way, eventually they talk to it regularly, then forego communicating with humans entirely.

I think it's because most people "interacting" online were just doing it to achieve some end. Attention, money, companionship, intimacy, killing time, entertainment, validation, whatever. If a bot satisfies this faster than a human, on-demand, and maybe even does a better job, then there's no use for socializing anymore.

Social media is especially vulnerable to this because it was already fake. Basically if social media is already fake then interacting with AI is actually better, because at least it admits it's fake.

Yes I think we are past the peak of the social media era, in hindsight the run from "iphone launches" to "chatgpt launches" may be seen as this weird era where people flooded the internet with banal trivia and overshared their lives like crazy, and the end result was it all served as feedstock to train models that made the whole thing obsolete.

Even though 4chan isn't like most sites you'd call "social media" I think a lot of former posters are simply filling their low-investment communication need with AI now.
>>
>>749433862
I can't, from the other half of the EU.
>>
>>749434319

What do you think people IRL are doing?
>>
>>749434901
Well yeah but real-life relationships exist beyond the immediate end you just achieved. Yeah you're killing time with your friends but then you'll see them another time. Or you play games but maybe later you talk about it and enjoy the memories you had. But sometimes online it's just people dipping in and out of existence ephemerally, or the "interactions" are just numbers or random comments. So it may as well be that nobody really exists as a person at all, which means the transition to AI, the absence of any real person, is fairly seamless.
>>
>>749431469
The trick is to not advocate the game and stay silent until shortly before release.
>>
>>749431469
Everything you post online is public domain and open source. Nobody can "steal" you game because it never belonged to you.
>>
What I wanna know is, can this AI model, system, just make anything? You can make new animations for characters but it kinda sucks if you yourself have no idea how to animate. It would be better if you had some experience animating. Here's something I've done. >>
>>749434489
AI is probably replacing some casual online interaction because it's easier, faster, and more predictable than dealing with people. But social media was already shifting toward passive consumption long before AI became popular. Declining participation doesn't necessarily mean people are talking to chatbots instead. AI may accelerate the trend, but genuine human interaction offers things it can't fully replicate.

That's actually one of the few things AI can't replace about the old internet: the satisfaction of knowing there's a real person on the other side getting genuinely pissed off. Half the appeal of trolling was never the argument itself, but the fact that you could provoke an actual emotional reaction from another human being.
You can insult a chatbot for six hours, and it'll just patiently explain why your language might be inappropriate. There's no ego to bruise, no pride to wound, no genuine frustration behind the response. You're essentially arguing with a mirror that has been programmed to remain polite.
And that's the contradiction in the idea that AI will replace online socializing. If people only wanted agreeable responses, social media would never have been such a toxic mess. A huge part of the attraction was precisely that other people were unpredictable, irrational, and emotionally invested.
The internet wasn't entertaining despite the fact that everyone hated each other. Sometimes it was entertaining because of it.

I mean yeah everyone wants to be successful and randomly hit it big, but that's not the expectation. 99% of authors are literal whos that get no sales, and they expect this will happen and they're just writing for themselves. Same is true for musicians and artists and yeah the same is true for game devs too. Like if you make a game and it gets 100 reviews on steam that's a good success.

Have you considered that it’s you, yourself, originating your desire to use Claude to do a cool game you would dream about but you’re suppressing your honest desires?

Pic is a wip of Claude as it still does a build from 1 simulated screenshot.

This harasser has been at it for almost 6 years, long enough to see me putting together my dreams with no need for any creative industry to do a damn thing for me. lol

Not coping well with having your property stolen huh whiteboi? Maybe ask gemini what to do about it.....

Because I freely concede I lack the creative spark to be one.

>What's the point of copying them?
It's normal thirdworld behavior. We're going to enter a dark age of videogames that shills will try to tell you is ACKSHUALLY the golden age because any retard can "steal" any good idea that would have been a indie GOTY contender 5 years ago, and the market drowns in garbage. The "developers" actually making new games just won't bother anymore, and gaming will just be a circlejerk of AI stealing from itself while some random other guy gets AI to make a 3rd person mod for diablo3 or some shit for the 5th time just because he can. AI is basically your pic but to all of gaming, globalized, and widespread.

All I personally know is that AI is just going to make the problem worse with people with zero actual life experience trying to make shit and coming up with crap. Talk to most ideas guys and they barely talk about gameplay and instead talk about story/setting, which is usually nothing too noteworthy either. This is not to deny this has been a problem for years because despite what AI shills like to say, there was no gatekeeping in making vidya thanks to the proliferation of asset stores, the dumbing down of game engines and the lack of moderation on most game stores compared to years ago. The only filter was time, "effort", and money, which is still true in this world of AI made games, just that it is much faster and much more appealing to those with even less self discipline.

But beyond that, there aren't people using this tech to try and make new innovative stuff, nor is it bridging gaps with people with one particular set of skills to be able to show their passion project. A bit hyperbolic, there may be some, but there is definitely an overwhelming majority that aren't doing it because they think they have an idea worth a damn, and even if they are that delusional, they don't have anything to back it up with except other media they consumed.

sculpting with stone is more comparable to digital sculpting, which takes just as much skill. similary, CNC requires a design, which also takes creative skill.
you don't magically end up with a complete bishoujo figure just by owning a 3D printer. you first need to sculpt it, cut it, then print it, and then paint it, all of which takes an immense amount of skill. profressionals can take months to produce a finished print-ready sculpt.

Stop slandering us idea guys. You'll see. You'll all see!

>see a mod that gives similar functionality to what I want in-game
>see the mod maker used AI to make it
>gives me an idea
>download claude
>free version isn't really giving me what I want
>decide to see how much difference the paid version makes
>it starts doing exactly what I want
>try other games
>getting mixed results but with some tard wrangling, start getting more of what I want
webm related is what I've got working right now which is something not currently being done by anyone and I'm also>>749436209. I'm having fun. FYI, there's no remaster for Bravely Second and if you play on an emulator, you have to have the second screen open for various things but I'm making it so it all plays on one screen like how the Bravely Default HD Remaster does

If the indie game is completely invalidated by an AI copy, then it's just not a good game fundamentally. NONE, and I mean NONE of these ai slop shits are good. They have 30 minutes of gameplay at best and then the interest dies out completely because they are that shallow.

Trump isn't to be taken too seriously when talking about tech, like most CEOs and Execs. He's a washed up business guy, not a tech guy. Its why tech companies can so easily manipulate politicians in general, none of them understand tech at all and probably think that seeing a CMD window pop up that says "Hello World" is some magical shit and the computer is alive.

Yeah, the flood of garbage from retarded and lazy people is going to be monumental. I mean, look no further than the AI image threads we used to have. People would happily post absolute garbage while thinking it was great. Imagine that confidence but making something as complex as vidya. Needing skills and patience was a natural barrier to entry that filtered out a lot of the chaff.
Please note; I'm not anti-AI. It's just a tool, like any other. It's just that a tool in the hands of an overconfident retard is disastrous.
