File: Code Vein II characters.jpg (187 KB, 1594x899)

Code Vein II had a wide variety of eventually joyful and uplifting characters. People are always disheartened by _those_ From Soft questlines where the NPCs die at the end, and Code Vein II tries to invert that where your goal is to save the characters from a terrible fate. So why was the general sentiment so mixed on Code Vein II? Was it really just that people wanted a direct sequel with the characters from the original? Was it older rigs having trouble with the game? Or were the problems deeper and more specific?

It's just a slop anime game with reused assets everywhere and an empty open world.

Is there any open world that isn't empty by /v/'s standards?

I was interested in playing both games(I played maybe an hour or two of the original the first time it came out) when Code Vein II came out, but then I found out about the censorship and all my interest vanished.

Oh no, they put spats on a couple female MC costumes that you will literally never use or see unless you're an AGP troon, guess the entire game is ruined now!!

Ah yes this thing. Yeah it's not good, but one will really never notice it for the most part. I can understand not buying it out of principle on that though.

Yes, unironically.
If they were there from the start? I wouldn't give a shit.
But this shows who the studio is interested in pandering to, and it's not me, and it's not the players of the original game.
And if they're willing to put this retarded move on such meaningless detail chasing the approval of people who don't even play games, they have certainly done much worse to other aspects of the game, so I'm not giving them benefit of doubt.

The launch was really rough and they took too long to adjust so word of mouth was more or less frozen in place. CV2's easily my GOTY and it's not even close but even I have to admit that the actual release date should have been in September. Silver lining is that it's pretty decently gatekept from faggots.

It obviously fucking mattered or you wouldn't be making this thread asking why the game isn't more popular.
It especially bad on CV2 considering how otaku pandering the game is once you get the story moving.

Fuck off election tourist, stop shitting up my thread.

Maybe that's why it seemed better to me. I only played it after the recent DLC came out.

It ran like shit. I liked it enough to get all the achievements (i.e. do a single playthrough) as well as the DLC out of obligation (I had the Deluxe edition) but I couldn't be bothered to finish the Age of Harmony.
