Choose to believe me (or not), but I am aware of a loose Capcom plan for the future of Resident Evil, starting from their 'reboot' this year with Requiem.Basically>2026 - Resident Evil 9 (now titled Requiem)>2027 - RE:CV (now titled RE:Veronica)>2028 - RE:Zero This will be a smaller scale project compared to the prior two titles, and much of the work has been focused on developing a base for a later title (should be obvious).>2029 - Untitled Multiplayer Project Project (Planning, Small Scale / Low Budget Title)>2030 - RE:1 (Concurrent development with RE:Zero)>2031 - Resident Evil 10 (Not in development currently)>2032 - RE:5 (Not in development currently)>2033 - RE:Revelations (Not in development currently)>2034 - Untitled Spin-Off Project (No plans yet, just a timeslot)>2035 - Resident Evil 11 (Not in development currently)>2036 - RE:6 By the end of this ten year plan, the hope is that Resident Evil will have a solidified grasp on gaming akin to the grasp Marvel has over blockbuster cinema, where vast swathes people eagerly anticipate their works.Much of what exists beyond RE:Zero here is still in fairly early phases (notably, the multiplayer project is being outsourced and Capcom's typical developer currently has other projects that would preclude a timely release if their current schedule remains strained), and many of them could be re-arranged or cancelled if another situation happens, like in 2020-21 (which resulted in numerous titles being cancelled or released early in RE:4's case). Major DLC is largely being done in response to player interest. For example, had Requiem not sold at least 5 million units, there would be no major story expansion DLCs. Because of this, there is no way to determine DLCs for unreleased titles. There are no plans to port or remaster any legacy titles. Capcom does not view Silent Hill/Konami as occupying a space where it could be viewed as a competitor at this time.
the remake stuff is so pathetic
>>749499909>There are no plans to port or remaster any legacy titles.yeah that's not surprising with how they dropped the ps1 trilogy on psn and gog instead of new ports
It’ll be interesting to see what they do with the RE1 remake seeing as though the original remake is one of the best ever made. Wonder if they’ll use the same Jill model
>>749499909Also, some might have already noticed this, but Capcom is planning to separate the series into ‘Sagas’ to boost marketability similar to Marvel’s Sagas and Phases. This concept was field tested with RE7 and 8 and it has been lightly applied to prior titles. Currently,>Umbrella SagaThis comprises the titles bearing the names of:Resident Evil 1-3Zero VeronicaRequiem >Bio Terror SagaAll titles between the two other sagas.>Ethan Winters SagaResident Evil 7Resident Evil 8>The Connections SagaThis will be the culmination of the ten year plan.
>>749499909Nigga this is just common sense. Its not even a leak.
I'm an Re5 fag and it pains me to see them just abruptly stop at 4 and do literally every other game possible as if they're reluctant to eventually do 5 and THEN because obligated they'll do 5 lol
>>749502720They want to build up Wesker again to increase investment. That is why Zeno was in Requiem as well.
>>749499909You forgot the kart game and karaoke game
>>749502720It's because it's co-op unlike the rest of the series, they gotta worry about a stupid AI companion getting in the way and balancing around it.
>>749499909>endless amounts of remake garbage that will no doubt be worse than the originalsSad that we're back to late 2000s slop Capcom.
