AI, component prices -- what are your hot takes?
Market crash
dunno, I haven't cared about industry games in like 10 yearsindies are better than they've ever been and at 1/10th the price
>>749500738I don't think so. Studios are too large, but making games is almost free.
Video games will become a luxury for the elite, like every other pastime and hobby.
>>749500625>needed to ask the robot to generate a stock image of cashI assume at some point all AIfags will eventually forget how to breathe or choke on their own tongues and all die off and then we'll just never see anything about it ever again
>>749500907that's fine, it's easier to become rich than it's ever been for the average personhonestly if you're not rich right now it's because you don't want to be
>>749500625>bill on top is simultaneously a 1, 50, and 100
>>749500970Haha, no, what makes you think the people at the top want to share the pie? The middle class will be eliminated, and the gulf between the upper class and the lower class will be impassable. The rich and powerful will live in luxury while the peasants slave away to support their lives of decadence and excess. And any peasant who dares to complain will be sent on a one-way trip to a torture chamber.
>"Some people will decide, ‘I can support my family working three days a week.’ That’s what productivity in the economy means.” ... Bezos recently revealed that he sees a not-so-distant world in which AI-driven productivity makes it easier for people to support themselves, in turn requiring fewer working hours. What is the future of gaming? People will be able to do anything they want. People will always be valuable because productivity in the Arts and Sciences is an ongoing task and because people value real people more than AI. So, what do we do when anybody can make any game they want? All play games together? The science of making and advertising games will exceed. People will know games and companies for their objective quality. I expect one company will make games for everybody and that people will follow them around playing all their games because they get it and because we're 99.9% genetically similar and have the same systems like adrenergics, instant gratification, and lasting reward. Things like 2D is surpassed by 3D worldbuilding and immersion. SP is surpassed by MP because real players provide far better suspension of disbelief and dynamic, emergent gameplay. I imagine lobby games are surpassed by persistent worlds if you can provide the same sense of competition as rated play. Every design either detracts from or adds to quality. I guess this sounds really polarizing, but I'm just not sure 99.9% of devs can hack it when, traditionally, very few games really get it right. Action games are still predominantly 1-2 button. Shooters still have slowed ADS + random hip spread. I think every genre is on the precipice of huge innovation. A studio that can utilize this and provide everybody with what they truly want will be well compensated. If you find somebody that gets it, hang on to them. What do you think? Will datacenters prove to be profitable? Will components return to entry level gaming prices? What's your favorite genre?
>>749500625you should kill yourself anyway, brownoid
>>749501116That's just the lie they tell the peasants so they won't revolt until it's too late. You need to understand that the people on top don't even see you as human, and resent you for existing and taking up what they see as their resources.
>>749500625>another fucking AI threadthat anon might be onto something that you fags use these threads for farming replies and analyzing them
>>749500625Frontier models raise their rates extremely and AAA companies are the only entities that can afford to AI gen full games. Indies done by hand still have some small market space. AAA remains in control except they run on 1/4 the staff and make everything with AI, and releases speed up a lot. Lots and lots of gacha / live service crap. In other words not much change.
>>749500907Don't open source and similar efforts ensure gaming productivity and accessibility?>>749500982Average US income is like $65k. All you have to do is make a good game with the ability to make real money by trading in-game. This puts together the poor and the rich, and allows people to quit their jobs and play videogames.>>749501084They don't have to want to share the pie. Goods and services will always be valuable. Almost everybody can grow THC, nicotine, and muscarine and trade for T/E and acetylcholine, plus opium. What more do you want besides drugs, alcohol, and gaming?
>>749500625Beach volleyball
>>749500625Death
More people will be incentivized to pirate games given how easy AI makes it to reverse engineer and how much more slopped the products will be. Developers will only make money through donations
>>749502053I forgot to say how cheap cost of living is. You can get 100% nutrition for less than $100 per month.
>>749501272Everybody loves life. If you provide social value, people will want you around. At a least, everybody is resource loot for persistent world games. Literally everybody is useful in a living world, fodder or king.
>>749502778Most people don't want to break the law. I'm sure plenty of people will buy games.
