Extraction shooters just lend themselves too much to griefing to ever be good. It has the same problem as shooters where griefers don't want to face other griefers, only easy marks, and overpowered geared always cuts the game into 3 groups, rats, suckers/newbies, and overgeared comps. As soon as grifers and overgeared comps drive the massive casual sucker player base away, they start crying about facing each other and the game dies.
