>its too easy!no it's not, Im getting fucking slaughtered in the inverse castle. Some of these rooms are so packed with bullshit enemies the only viable path is mist cheesing your way through it all. Why did /v/ lie to me?
>>749538252Oh in the inverse castle there is no proper path and you can easily run into high level enemies and you are quite low leveled. It is actually pretty tough for a bit, since you don't know where to grab and farm the high level gear.
SOTN is all about what equipment you have. Getting the Crissaegrim turns it into a walking simulator.
sotn is the easiest oneguess you should have leveled up more or just stop sucking
>>749538252>>its too easy!Is basically now just an universally accepted truth that everyone agrees on, including people that haven't played the game. All nuance is lost, join the hivemeind.
>>749538497Name an easier Castlevania game, then.
>>749538252>Some of these rooms are so packed with bullshit enemies the only viable path is mist cheesing your way through it allOutside of infinite spawning ones like medusa heads, mermen, ghosts, etc. all the enemies have a range for them to "activate" aka start doing shit to antagonize you. You can exploit that by casting spells like tetra spirit just outside the range for easy kills and exp. The only enemy in the inverse castle that should give you any actual trouble are final guards, since the rooms they're in let them exploit their range of attacks pretty well.
>>749538252>filtered by fucking sotnNgmi
>>749538252Just get the crissaegrim.
>its easy IF you have perfect knowledge of where all the best equipment drops are as well as all the spells!it always been a braindead criticism. its just like people who moan that ffviii is trivial if you spend the first 5 hours of the game following a guide on how to break your stats and then running from every random encounter. Or people complaining that elden ring is easy because you can use mimic tear and spam magic or whatever meta weapon art for every boss fight. Turns out devs in the 90s balanced the game towards a casual player going in blind, not terminal minmax retards optimizing the fun out of every experience they have
>>749538542Anon, can you read the thread?Yes, it's a very easy game. But there are also instances where you struggle. I finished SotN for the first time last year and I had the same experience as the OP. Overall fine difficulty, but taking the wrong turn in the inverted castle and I got crushed several times.ALL NUANCE IS LOST
>>749538715>WOW YOU SAID SOMETHING BAD ABOUT GAME YOURE FILTERED!!!so sick of these 17 year old dumb ass fucking niggers on this board. I never said I was giving up nor was I even complaining, I'm glad the game got more challenging.
Vorpal shitters literally cannot stop themselves from using the most busted equipment. You all probably use the glitch to keep Alucards sword too
>>749538252zoomer brain taking its toll on you?
>>749538252>Im getting fucking slaughtered in the inverse castleThats when it starts becoming easier. You must have skipped a lot of power ups.
>>749538857Nigger, you don't need perfect knowledge for the spells, you can buy the shit that teaches you how to do them from the librarian. Thats a million times more trivial than knowing what enemy drops what loot. How much fucking handholding do you need that you can't figure out how to buy what is effectively an in game instruction manual?
Are you the fag who was getting mauled by the boss in the demo for Belmont's Curse? No idea how anyone could find SoTN difficult
>>749538857During my first playthrough, I can't say that I got any of the supposed overpowered equipment that these threads talk about. I occasionally attempted to farm this or that enemy, when they looked important, and got nothing. Explored as much as I could, Dracula was still easy, but I never felt truly overpowered, especially while exploring the inverted castle.
>>749538252Unequip the ring of ares, retard
I didn't figure out inverse castle. It's very easy and short. The 3D stuff is out of place. It's a bad game. The GBA ones are a lot better. Shame GBA is where Castlevania dies and the DS ones look pathetic.
>>749539243Portrait of ruin and order of ecclesia are the best nds castlevania though
>>749538252shit game, inverse castle is lazy as fuck
Did anybody actually use the fist weapons in SOTN? I thought about doing a fist weapon only playthrough for the lulz.
>>749538857nigger literally 70% of the enemies in the inverted castle drop either OP bullshit or very strong shitalso just exploring the map alone should have given you OP bullshit like the shield rod
I only played the DS versions almost 20 years ago, what games do I play of the series? I got a 3DS so I can emulate on that as well.
>>749539408When my brother taught me the trick to get the jeweled knuckles early I used that until I got a weapon with a higher attack. It wasn't so bad since its all about getting your hit in before the enemy does.>>749539470Anon you get the shield rod from the regular coliseum, it's the alucard shield you get in the inverse castle.
>>749539538>Anon you get the shield rod from the regular coliseum, it's the alucard shield you get in the inverse castle.you misread it, the point is shit from the normal castle should be enough for the early parts of the inverted castle, point which you start getting better shit anyway
>Not enough fast travel points>Can't select where fast travel takes you>Fast travel between the two castles isn't connected>Too easy even if you don't get OP stuff like shield rod or Crissaegrim>Super jump super sucks>Bat form has an annoying delay each time you transform into it or back>So many jumps in the inverted castle that are just barely too high for double jump so you have to use super jump or bat form constantlyIt was great for its time, but for the most part Aria of Sorrow and the NDS games do just about everything better
>>749538353this comment is so fucking stupid that I have to reply to wash away your stupidity from my brain. If you get an OP weapon of course the game will be easy. But you need to know where to get and it isnt that easy. This is the most obvious thing in the universe and works in every fucking video games that exists, retard. Go kill yourself.
>>749539590>Fast travel between the two castles isn't connectedOut of all your complaints this is the only real one, and even then hardly so when the swap between castles is literally right besides the lion warp.
>>749538902NTA but sorry I didn't read your meltie - it's an easy game
>>749538918>You all probably use the glitch to keep Alucards sword tooHave you ever actually tried to pull off that glitch? It's really fucking annoying to do and there's no save point before it so if you fuck up once you have to retry from the start of the game. It's one of the least worth it glitches in the game, it's sole use is in something as autistic as speedrunning. Anyone able to do it on command wouldn't have trouble with the rest of the game anyway because playing the game normally is infinitely easier.
>>749539838On top of that, said glitch can only be done in luck mode and not everyone plays that mode because of how gimped the rest of your stats are.
>>749539243sotn and dawn of sorrow are both better than all the gba games.
>>749539486>Castlevania 1 and 3 on NES (best games in the series)>CIV on SNES>Bloodlines on Genesis>Rondo of Blood on PCE>SOTN ps1 or saturn>Aria GBA>DOS and Portrait of Ruin on DSthose are the most essentials. if you want just the best of the best: castlevania 1, 3, rondo, SOTN.
>>749540150>dawn of sorrow>not order of ecclesiaOne job
Since the release of the demo story leaks. There has not been a single thread about castlevania in any meaninful capacity. Is the Castlevania series dead? Did the writers actively attacking Christianity and making an ugly, swearing, broad shouldered woman the main player character the reason why the game has failed to garner any attention?
>>749540150Thanks, I got 1-3 on 3DS via virtual console but for some reason SNES games on 3DS require new 3DS if you want to play them via virtual console natively. I can of course just emulate them via their roms.
>>749540150>no Kid Draculakwab
the game was mild in terms of difficulty until a little guy dropped a sword that attacks 10 times and also while moving, but that was about 80% in, kinda trivialised the rest of the game, dracula died in 5s i think
Portrait of Ruin is the best anyway>Play as a witch with exhilarating casting time>Not only is Yamane composing, she brought fucking Yuzo Koshiro as a kid sidekick>Can mod in better art (both for the DS and Steam versions) to get rid of the anime portraits>Ojou-sama boss
>>749538252Never agreed with this criticism either, I think it's challenging enough for the kind of game it is. Only parts that are too easy are the boss fights after the first couple of bosses, but exploring the inverted castle can be pretty tough without OP gear.
I quit the game after reaching the inverse castle. The game sucked and that was the last straw.
>>749542897>I quit right when I got to the best part
>>749538857Nah Elden Ring is pretty easy, it's just that people say you're cheating the game if you do anything besides Roll and R1. Just using a shield and guard counters will trivialize so many bosses.
>>749539838I don't think that glitch exists outside of the PS1 version either?
>>749543102The inverse castle is NOT the best part of the game, are you crazy?
>>749543334The PS1 version was riddled with bugs, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them were fixed with the later ports.
>>749539470shield rod isn't OP unless you know how to use it, and the game doesn't tell how to use itYou'd just assume it was a normal insignificant weapon without a guide
