Then I will pay ai money for your game

It would take a pretty high degree of narcissism to think you can write code better than the current gen of AI agents, and it only gets better every 3-5 months.
>>
>>749562407
I think retards will read this and think Tim Sweeney is replacing all his teams with a vibe coding Claude or some shit.
This makes all the sense in the world because making full use of “AI” tools makes shit ten times faster and gives both programmers and artists the ability to make better stuff. You still need people to use the tools. I don’t understand the freak out over all of this.
>>
>>749562407
Studios now have to compete with Claude vibecoders decompiling all their games and making them cooler.

L to the O to the L. A guy with an out of date Teach Yourself C in 24 hours book could write better code than the current claude. And yes, I grant you it "got better" but it went from "totally and completely worthless" to "well, it didn't get it ALL wrong" to "it's superficially working" in a short space of time. If it continues at this pace this time next year it'll have all the code quality of an Indian outsourcing company.

I was anti-AI until I had to deal with not one, but two meatbag psychiatrists who prescribed me an SSRI without informing me of a major drug interaction. ChatGPT told me about it in like 2 seconds.

Sorry but clankers are just more competent than meatbags. And people who think clankers aren’t competent just haven’t learned prompt engineering and not polluting context windows. If you still treat AI like a glorified search engine in the big 2026, you are cattle/

It's a KPI machine. 100% code coverage, infinite loc/minute, 1000 PRs per day. Anything executives measure can be maximized

Unironically what's the endgame here for Anthropic? $2400 in revenue versus $90,000 in actual costs is insane. Even if they quintuple subscription costs it's not going to make up the difference, and that doesn't even account for all the subscribers they'll lose because they can't afford the markup. Are they just hoping compute costs eventually go down enough for it to become profitable?
>>
>>749562407
I'd be surprised if that shit even runs lmao
>>
>>749563594
I imagine the plan is to keep making the output better, get companies to lay off all their devs, then rugpull the ridiculous subsidized pricing and trust that companies won't be able to shift back to human labor and need to pay up. If there even is a plan, the ratios seem asinine even compared to the shit VMWare's been pulling after they got acquired.

>>
>>749563994
Buy just enough time to go public and rug pull.
The real endgame would be to hook people up and then jack up the prices, but since all the LLM's are dogshit they can't.
>>
>>749563994
The subscriptions require you to use their tools, the point is to lock people in, get them invested and then start charging them full price later. I think they're also hoping that real usage data will become so important for training the models further that it becomes an impenetrable moat.
This may end up being true, who knows.

I mean seriously, "A Marvel and Star Wars shooter generated by AI" is the most soulless, boring thing ever.

Yep, deep knowledge of the inner workings of a really complex project/product will simply go away. A bug will crop up from the interplay of multiple pieces of something and fucking nobody will know why because nobody wrote the code, and the AI fix will probably just bandaid over the root cause because it's not like it knows why either, it knows what the prompt told it, a surface level understanding of a behavior you no longer want to happen. And then the bandaid will cause other problems, repeat ad nauseum forever.

The real plan is to get companies to dump as many competent people as possible, creating an environment where they're reliant on the tools to make up for the reduced workforce.
Then they start jacking the prices up, and since companies are already bought in to the system and have their workflows built around it, they're stuck weighing up rehiring the people they cut at an elevated wage and undoing all the changes to their workflow, or sticking with the steeper prices.
It's the 'Microsoft Office' play on a larger scale.

I will never, in my life, buy a game strictly coded with AI. I could be persuaded, if the game is somehow ACTUALLY decent, to buy a game that HAS AI in it, but it would have to be used in a creative fashion. E.g. generating names, backstories, behaviors, speech, etc. for random NPCs.

But I don’t think that is coming for awhile.

I imagine AI can’t be used too extensively, how the fuck would they be able to claim authorship? Like that one French company or whatever trying to claim they made that baseball bat character when the character itself was AI generated. Or, alternatively, people datamine these games or use scrapers and then make an identical game that’s “good enough” by virtue of being free and people play that instead of the AAA title.

I mean if you’re a private company shouldn’t you care about having work that can be seen as “proprietary”? Makes no sense to me unless we see a level of corruption where these companies “lobby” to have laws changed where they can claim ownership because they’re not upfront about the process and can claim plausible deniability while regular Joes who generate stuff get fucked over.

I have the right to change my mind about something if I only find out later that AI was used because it kills my interest knowing there was no real process behind it. No artists or programmers to ask how they did something, it’s just “computer did it”. That’s not interesting to me. Also we get more indie games than ever before, a good one comes out every month. We don’t really fucking need it to go faster. No one would be able to afford it.

I can. I generate most of my code at work and like half of it I need to change after a review. AI is ridiculously bad at writing reliable, future proof code. It pays no attention to how the code will evolve and what should be generalized and what shouldn't. You end up with tons of code repetition, pointless comments that directly reference parts of prompt and bad architectural decisions that seem to prioritize immediate fixes over long term stability.

Exactly. These same hucksters taking about making art more accessible got mad that they got a dose of their own medicine. It makes no sense to me, man. Art WAS exclusive to the upper class for a long long time. But now here’s art tutorials everywhere, and literally hundreds of millions of images and billions of hours of video available through YouTube, a FREE website. We have artists on X who talk about their process. I’ve seen artists as young as 15 who display strong fundamentals from halfway around the world who never paid a dime for an apprenticeship or art school. It’s still hard, of course, and it takes time. But art’s exploded this century because of the internet. These AI enthusiasts are so full of shit acting like artists “gatekeep” anything from anyone when validation is a huge part of why they draw.

Games weren't exactly designed flawlessly *before* we had a tool that could reliably help bridge gaps. No one bothered checking that shitty code either. If anything, it's going to give lazy/incompetent devs a better chance at hiding how truly incompetent they really are.

You write a gay little design document then you setup an overseer with a bunch of ais, aka agents, and they all shit out crap for hours on end using mcps (read: they have access to shit they shouldn't, likely on your pc or your server) with one testing/""correcting"" them until you have something terrible but useable or something terrible and unuseable 24 hours later.
This also costs a ton more money and tokens than regular use. I know a few fags who're slopping indie vidya like this except they have an rtx 5090 and is smart enough to only run the vibeslop overseer off their AI subscription and all the agents are local models. Toby Fox doesn't know how to code for shit and now he's a famous game designer.

Games are a lot more than just elegant code. The AI will prevent games from being released as broken, buggy messes because it knows enough to prevent that sort of thing from happening. It might not help make the game run on a TI-83, but it'll at least ensure that the job gets done without any massive coding hiccups.

No amount of you crying about it will change this; it's common sense. Deal with it.

I absolutely can see the use in using AI as a developer as a helper tool. Using just AI to code though and just trusting it will never work. No, that's not how you do it.
That's how you get stackoverflow shit written by and for retards.
And it's scrutinizing abilities are fucking garbage.
How you actually do it is you write a design, you feed it to your agents, you give them debugger access through the mcp and then you watch it shit itself because not a single AI model knows what good code looks like or how it ought to run.
>IMO this is much more likely to work than simply throwing something together and praying no one notices if it's fucked.

India commands roughly 26% of global AI users and ranks as the second-largest AI market in the world by total volume, trailing only the United States.

Key Statistics on Indian AI Usage

• Workplace Adoption: Around 92% of Indian workers use AI regularly in their jobs, placing India first globally in workplace and full-scale AI adoption (according to Boston Consulting Group). Daily workplace AI use sits at about 41%.
• General Population Usage: According to Microsoft’s Global Online Safety Survey, 65% of surveyed Indians use AI, which is more than double the global average of 31%. (Note: Some regional studies show varying baselines depending on urban vs. rural reach).
• Platform Share: India accounts for 5.8% of total global use on platforms like Claude.ai, ranking second behind the U.S..
• Geographic Concentration: AI usage in India is heavily concentrated in major metropolitan hubs. Roughly 52% of all AI use in the country is split across four states/territories: Maharashtra (Mumbai), Karnataka (Bangalore), Tamil Nadu (Chennai), and Delhi.
• Demographics: Millennials (aged 25–44) lead adoption at an 84% usage rate, utilizing AI primarily for translations, answering questions, workplace efficiency, and student assistance.

AI-översikt

Major AI companies offer specific plans or tier upgrades for free in India that require paid subscriptions elsewhere:
• ChatGPT Go (OpenAI): OpenAI made its lower-cost/entry tier—ChatGPT Go—free nationwide in India for one year (normally charged or paid via specific tiers in other regions).
• Google Gemini Pro / AI Pro Bundles (Google): Google partnered with telecom provider Reliance Jio to offer extended free access (such as 12 to 18 months of free AI Pro / Gemini features) tied to local carrier bundles, which are paid or limited elsewhere.

It's very easy to write better quality code than any existing LLM, the problem is that it's slow as fuck to do it by hand in comparison to what the LLM can crank out. The best you can do is have it crank out code and edit it to non slop standards but even that is hard.

Keep in mind that only programmers care about their code as a form of art. The CEO doesn't give a shit they just want to ship faster and for less money, and the AI can let them do it.

Really the only difference is that if you're getting it subsidized you can theroetically have the AI run 24/7.
It'll still be shit and if you're a regular user and not a big corporation they'll be rate limiting your use to max 5-8 hours even if you're paying $200/month and it'll be utter crap output but hey it's technically on.

Actual programmers will usually try to abide by some kind of programming standards, either one that they were taught, one they made themselves, or one that was set up by the company/project they're programming for. It not only allows for code to be human readable, but makes it easier to find parts of the code that you're looking for.
AI skips all of that, it goes for the absolute fastest and most efficient result it can create with whatever data it can slop together. Because it lacks any kind of flow or readability, it becomes significantly harder for humans to actually work with it.

You could think of it as a novel written by an established author VS an essay written by a jeet with a grade school understanding of english, access to Wikipedia, and copy-paste keybinds.

I just used it to generate a bunch of bindings to another language for a lib I needed. It would have taken a week minimum to do it and the clanker (Qwen 122b locally) did it in ~1hr. If I was using a paid model it would be even faster

Idk when the last time you used it was but in 2026 this isn't true anymore. The code quality is there, especially if you seed it with a document that shows how you expect code to be written. It apes my style perfectly now. All I do is tell it what I want and it shits out a 90-95% perfect solution, I just clean it up a little and push. I'm getting rave reviews at work and our codebase is genuinely getting better and not slopified to shit. But I'm sad because my job changed from person who writes code to code reviewer / manager overnight .

It's actually worse than that and doesn't have to do with being fast or efficient.
AI slop wants to be divvied up into microfunctions (le single export for jargonistas) which makes it unreadable and undebuggable by default. The reason is because of token context limits, the less each agent has to know the less costly it is. (and the easier it is to run it on a local dogshit model too)
For actual quality this is one of the single worst possible ways to write code. Won't make a difference for OO-jeet sloppers though because they've been trained to write like this by the clean code and webdev SRP crap for the last decade even though it's objectively shit.

Managing claude for complex projects is a nightmare. It gets opinionated on the basis of its own misunderstanding of your prompts and will second guess you without clearly communicating that its doing so, only really expressing it through the code which is terrifying.
It will constantly choose not to display valuable data so you would think important things are lost or not considered, when its actually all there, just not in the GUI.
Its documentation is practically unreadable for humans, if youre making something big you will be bombarded all day and night with hundreds and hundreds of lines of insufferable claude-speak report-backs on all your queued prompts.
We are still working with one programmer instead of 20, though

>matchmaking algorithms
So literally just guesswork based on ELO or MS's shitty guessing algo that anyone competent can't fail at because the results are purely subjective so long as you're doing any kind of ranking of players at all and not putting a newbie up against a 100k hour master.

These articles are paid for by AI companies, aren't they?
>>
I don't even care if a person uses AI
I just want all AI content to be properly tagged on all platforms so I can filter it
Is that too much to ask?

‘Fraid so, anon. If you can’t identify it on your own, then you don’t deserve to know.

Sowwy :(

if it is used as a tool to make things easier? cool
if people mistake ai for actually thinking, and therefore we can let it "think for us" (like many retarded tech bros think)? terrible and the destruction of all human civilization.

those are your two options.

seeing code niggers cope and say they are just as good as frontier models is hilarious
>>

I mean, a lot of it is obvious
It just sucks having to look at the sea of shit every day no matter what website I go to.

The problem is that digital game prices will continue to rise, and people will continue to be laid off
This is supposed to lower costs and retain experienced workers, but the exact opposite is happening
Why should I support something that only benefits companies and not me?

I know, I know. But that’s real life, for ya. An ocean of ugly and a droplet of pretty.

I assure you no one has trouble picking out AI art on Pixiv, they let you filter it because it's garbage.

Maybe.

I have bigger things to worry about than the price of vidya.

I'll just make my own game instead at this point
It'll cost you exactly nothing
