Now there was a gap of 7 years between FF13 and FF15 (not counting 14 as it's an MMO spinoff), and then another gap of 7 years between FF15 and FF16. Square Enix somehow fumbled the most anticipated Remake of the most iconic JRPG of all time. Most people looking forward to Remake hated it or merely tolerated it, and then Rebirth turned out to be an Ubisoft game which is distinctly not Final Fantasy. Hamaguchi has promised that Revelation will double down on all of the elements of Rebirth that everyone hated, and most people just want Revelation (and its 2 planned DLCs) to release so they can finally be done with it and put it behind them.
