I was so hyped to try Gintama Rumble when I learned even my old laptop could emulate Vita games, but I learned to my dismay that Musou is horrible, it felt like a gacha ARPG. Silent Hill F was probably more fun to play. Any thoughts? Maybe I'll try some of the Gintama NDS games.

>Gintama It was great, but it's easy to understand why it's not much of an influence on anything. The manga has an extremely idiosyncratic sense of humor that not a lot of creatives are down with, the anime threw that out in favor of a really weird pseudo-western-80s TV meets japan variety show feel, and both were absolutely
I've never seen that point shared before, and it's astounding how absolutely true it is. I've always known that the anime and manga were completely different experiences but haven't found such a succinct way to explain it to anons before.
But I wanted to also correct you a bit,
>why it's not much of an influence on anything
Gintama is the reason Kimetsu no Yaiba (biggest manga of the century if not both centuries) was sent to Jump and you can see the influence clearly, such as Kamui from Gintama imprinting directly onto Akaza in Kimetsu, and their Red Light District arcs both sharing a lot of common points as well.
Not to mention influenced a bunch of other gag manga as well (e.g. Saiki character poll meta chapters), and action manga too (Sakamoto start).

it seems like fighting games (kenichi had one too) are the most common video games for anime properties.

The Oreimo PSP novels are considerably better than the material it's based on

I've only read a bunch of Gintama volumes but the chapters weren't that different from their TV adaptations.
The biggest difference I remember is the anime episodes added a bunch of jokes and pop culture references that weren't there at all.

The gameplay was crappy but I had fun playing Asterisk War on the Vita
You're able to make an OC and cuck the MC from one of his harem member

My go-to recommendation is always Astro Boy Omega Factor on GBA. It's a great beat-em-up by Treasure.

It depends on what you mean by different, it's not simply a matter of adding or subtracting lines; delivery matters a lot. For example while reading the manga (subjective take, of course!) I never imagined Shinpachi yelling the way he does in the anime. Not that he doesn't yell, I would never claim that, but the way he does in the anime fits the other anon's point well
>really weird pseudo-western-80s TV meets japan variety show feel
The Japan variety show feel is huge imo

>Musou feels like a gacha arpg
>I liked Silent Hill F more
Are you fucking 16 years old.
It's not even about defending musou games this is just the most vapid statement I've ever fucking seen. I don't even trust what you have to say about musou games because your fucking two points of reference are fucking Zenless Zone Zero or some shit and Silent Hill fucking F.
You got no perspective at all.
>>
>>749599552
I didn't mean any offence, anon. I have not played more than like 3 musou games, I'm just saying the Gintama one was more boring than the gacha ARPGs I've tried. And I did like Silent Hill F more. I don't understand what you think is indefensible about those statements.

The Detective Conan Legacy of the British Empire is pretty good. Bakugan Battle Brawlers was good especially since you could create your own character plus the models were pretty high quality. All the girls looked cute.
The Ro-Kyu-Bu trilogy(Ro-kyu-bu, Himitsu no Otoshimono, Naisho no Shutter Chance) are really solid raising sims.
Precure Max Heart Maji? Maji!? Fight de IN Janai(GBA) is really fun.

I think the issue is comparing musou to arpgs when they are different things and then bringing up SHF like it's a non sequitur

I see, I brought up gacha ARPGs because the enemies feel like they're just 3d models on screen that let you spam attacks, and that's how the enemies in the Gintama game felt, like ragdolls who you just spam attacks at. Even if I could lose the game, it didn't feel fun or challenging in a fun way. SHF came up because the action gameplay has been made fun of quite a bit here and there but I would consider it at least a level up from the average 3d gacha or honestly the musous i've tried (Very few)
