In Gears 1 Marcus goes the fuck off on Baird for trying to give orders. I just hate Mags as a character, and it has everything to do with how forced her presence there feels. I wouldn't care if it was caually mentioned she was a lesbo or suggested, if the character herself was strong enough. People that dance around her not being a "big deal" casually ignore she's a nobody who is tossed into the game and then starts ordering Marcus and Dom, who are THE Gears franchise and fan favorites, around and breaking balls. It doesn't work at all, and then when we see she is also a lesbo is all makes sense. This was a diversity box getting checked.
