Fuck you I liked it.
>yandex gets nuked>stalker 2 thread has no shitpostingI'm nooticing. Also stalker 2 is good and 2.0 made it really good.
I really enjoy it. Nothing had the atmosphere this game has. The music work lighting and post apoc looking buildings is very well done. The underground bunkers/bases/labs/caves are actually creepy as fuck when first exploring them. I wish it had more faction wars after point of no return.
>>749671879Haven't played it yet due to shit PC.Did they finally acknowledge the Generators that got cut from SoC?
Nuh it sucks.
Yeah I recently finished 150h run in 2.0 with DLC. Its very competent game now and great Stalker sequel. Also Iv noticed shit ton of new mods that do new stuff. But man after couple of runs in Gamma and other loot sorting mods its very fresh to just play the game and look at it and not ponder on 17 progression paths.
>>749672850Yes, actually. You go there during the end part.
>>749672880With the modding SDK now available (even at the huge amount of drive space it needs) people are really starting to get to grips with the game and making some cool stuff.
>Worse atmosphere >Worse music>Empty space everywhere>Removed Soviet iconography>Mutants are bulletsponges and annoying to fight>Writing is fanfiction tier bullshit>Can barely snipe because enemies only spawn at 100 meters>Still a buggy mess after 2 years >Has to be fixed with mods>Console UI>Have to eat every 10 secondsIt's a 7/10 Dying Light/Farcry clone pretending to be STALKER
Didn't they retconned Clear Sky to be like a second C-Consciousness or something? That's stupid
>>749673013I mean, most of this is subject to taste, but you are correct that some issues are annoying and are likely to be modded out.>Mutants are bulletsponges and annoying to fightBulletsponge mutants were fixed very close to release tho. Saiga kills shit good.>Dying Light/Farcry clone pretending to be STALKERHow is it any similar to those games? I can give you the fact that it's not SoC since it's far more linear, but it picks up where CoP left off gamedesignwise.
The thicc fog - especially in the twilight hours - is great to walk around in. Even more so if you disable the HUD.
>>749671879>180 gigabytesno thanks.
>>749673115I used a unique SPAS with higher damage, and Bloodsuckers, Poltergeists and Controllers are still way tankier than they have any right to be. >How is it like Dying Light FarCryTrash to collect everywhere and mission design similar to it.>It picks off from CoPAnd that was a mistake, CoP feels like a fucking theme park, same as this but with higher streches of nothing. And at least CoP had decisions that actually mattered outside the main mission, unlike 2
>>749673437Thank the HOPs for that.
>>749671879So kill yourself.
>>749673113No. What youtube essay did you get that from?
>>749673459>BloodsuckersHaven't had any issues with them.>Poltergeists Yes, those are annoying.>ControllersControllers are so weak if you can break the line of sight they have to have SOME extra health.>Trash to collect everywhere It's not Analmeme and there's no crafting system, thankfully. There is a lot of loot, but you can just leave it and go for good stuff or sell it. Or don't do that and end up with 6 millon koupon stash, like me.>and mission design similar to it.Most Stalker 2 main quests are "go to a "dungeon" and kill things." It's maybe basic (I loved side quests way more) and I wish the "dungeons" had cooler setpieces similar to SoC, but it doesn't feel like it copies DL and FC specifically.>And that was a mistakeDepends on your taste, but yes, I know that a lot of people don't like CoP's level design, so it's a fair point.Out of curiosity, how would you restructure Stalker 2 if you were given a choice? Make it more like SoC?
>>749673013>removed soviet iconographyThat's actually a positive, commies should be erased from the history books as punishment for being the tools of the jews
mavka is cute :3
>>749673865No, as much as I love SoC it's too linear and tons of space that isn't used. They should have made the map half the size and have more handcrafted loot, the only thing they should have taken from SoC, and even New Vegas, is the main mission always moving you north with physical barriers/social barriers blocking your way and branching into sidequests, and then having a ton of content when you reach the North. It gives you a clear objective without having you go along a stupid unnecessary ride.
remind me again when the AI is actually serviceable, I'm not asking for A-Life because they do not know how to do it again but just something
>>749671879good for you but you're wrong
>>749674305The whole point is that it's bad you fucking dipshit, really nails the bleak atmosphere.STALKER 2 just removed all of that and added nothing to replace it.
>>749674305>History should be rewrittenShalom. How's your war in Palestine going?
I uninstalled it after 5 minutes. It didn't feel like STALKER. It felt like a generic shooter with STALKER decorations inserted.
Doesn't run on my laptop, game is slop an you cannot convince me otherwise.
>>749671879Me too, but I waited because I didn't want to bugs ruin it to me, so I got it after 2.0 with dlc.Still, how rushed it is after yanov is sad.
>>749674395>They should have made the map half the size and have more handcrafted lootNot sure if the Zone Kit lets you alter the map, but there are loot rebalance mods, so at least something is feasible in this area.>the only thing they should have taken from SoC, and even New Vegas, is the main mission always moving you north with physical barriers/social barriers blocking your way and branching into sidequests, and then having a ton of content when you reach the NorthI think it was a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" issue. Zone in SoC was structured in a way that was gameplay first, and A LOT of people complained about it, especially with CNPP location relative to Pripyat. I know, I was there. Making the Zone far closer to the real thing was an understandable decision, but how would you make player progress if that's the case? You definitely can make the geographic location work for the gameplay if you structure it right, but how would you do it in S2? Perhaps cordoning off the southern Zone (on the right riverbank) before you can cross the river, then doing some kind of a psi-field in Duga could work. I wonder if modders can do something like that.
>>749674305History books should expose all commies and commie leaders to be ashkenazi canaanite demon faggots, which they all are.
>>749675882The last act of every stalker game sucks balls.
>>749675381basedpost gamma config
so did they actually retcon artifacts in 2? if they burn out after leaving the zone, then theres pretty much no reason to not get rid of the zone because the CoP endings gave hope that some good did come out of the zone with the ecologists making advancements in medicine.
>>749675941>Muh realismThese fags needs to die, STALKER is supposed to be surreal, not real.
lol benis
>>749678341Stalker was always supposed to be a hardcore, realistic experience of a desolate area of the earth where resources are limited, the wildlife deadly and other humans unfriendly.
Is there a good mod that rebalances combat? Especially towards the end game it gets fucking BRUTAL and nothing seems to help. I have a belt of legendary artifacts a Diamond Exoskeleton with full upgrades, a fucking RPG and the gauss gun and I still get my shit rocked. Enemies take multiple headshots to kill with end game weapons and yet they can wipe out half your healthbar with a fucking AK and have laser aim so you spend most of the fight just watching the bandage animation before you can pop out and try to hit someone. These guys are hitting me from 100 meters away with a shotgun and taking out a good chunk of health and yet I have to dump have the mag from the PKM to even get them to stagger.....
>>749678923>with end game weaponsThey factually don't when using any of the long range weapons like SIC even on standard ammo. Protip: damage fall off for range matters.
>>749678923ditch the RPG for starters, its terrible. Where are you struggling? the game does make you switch between playing it as a tactical shooter and playing it like fucking Quake (Scar fight for example, and Faust on the roof). If you really get stuck cheese it with grenades. Or just grab one of the damage rebalance mods off the usual sources but they work both ways a lot of the time and it turns into Tarkov.
The SIC they patched in for 2.0 is stupidly good as a weapon.>cheap to maintain>plentiful ammo>relatively lightweight>can get upto an 8x scope (though you'll use 4x most of the time)>can get a 20 round magazine>one can be found just lying about in the overworld so you don't even need story progression to use it>dlc has a unique version too that everyone gets
>>749682671The game became a lot less fun when you advance the story to the point the monolith is wandering around again. I mean I get that they are supposed to be a threat but goddamn they are 200 meters away and take off half my health bar with a spas12... Meanwhile you gotta lay into them at close range with the PKM to even hurt them.
>>749678923>gauss gun>multiple shotsAnon if the Gauss Gun doesn't kill a human enemy in one shot it's because you fucking missed. This is true on every difficulty.
>>749671879Me too. DLC also, even though I hated the Amoks
>>749684010The Amoks are less bad once you realize you only need to shoot their back twice. Once you've don't that they take damage normally and you don't have to keep trying to circle behind them.Goddamn did the DLC have some good boss fights and setpiece gauntlets aside from the Amoks though.
>>749673113Clear Sky was lead by a former member of C-CON that refused to get in his pod. That's it.
>>749684254The problem is you can't just mag dump their spines as they blatantly have iframes when you pop the first little bulb thingy on their spine. Thank fuck they give an alternative way out of the double amok fight as that is complete bullshit in many ways (including the giant concrete building not counting as cover for an emission as I found out the hard way).
Over too quickly, I want a bit more. Hopefully the modding toolkit takes off quickly, also fuck Strelok he trapped me in a whack-ass anomalous prison.
>>749676137this is very true. the number of times i've just lost interest in mods because i can't be bothered to endure a gauss sniper hallway is immense
Why does a 180gb game with 100+ developers have less content than a 5gb game made by 1 autistic furry faggot?
No
>>749686863no no fuck you radiophobia 3 is the best shadow of chernobyl mod.
I guess I'll finally try CS. Are there any required mods? I don't want any new content or rebalancing, I just want bug fixes.
>>749671879Yea, it's got some flaws, but overall I loved it.Surprising amount of recurring characters (even very minor ones), locations, and little nods to the original games. You can tell the devs actually played the original games.
TOTAL BURER DEATHBURERDEATH
>>749692438>sneak up on burer>unload entire spas tube into its back>dedEASY, also a lot of burer arenas can be cheesed by chucking grenades where they spawn, for one of these I didn't guessed his little cubby hole ahead of time and got his ass
can your squad members even survive the mission against the brain scorcher monolith thingy?there's like a quintillion enemies and then some Psi shit starts happening too.
>>749676137wrong
Is there a way to get rid of the yellow paint markers now?
>>749693545Yes.
>>749693545Mods. That one in particular was one of the first, IIRC.
>>749674305How about we have it out and open and have adult conversations about it and not rewrite history to suit our agendas
>>749694023In general, Ukrainian decommunization law makes an exception for art, so GSC should've been fine even if they left the imagery (and I believe they patched some of that back in with enhanced editions that they had removed before). It was clearly an overcorrection, but it is understandable, considering the war. No need to add fuel to the fire.
