Why did people lose their shit over this again?
Also post webms and bases
>>749689272It is a bit annoying that you can't craft lower quality items from higher quality ingredients, but I suppose that changing that would remove any semblance of challenge from the quality mechanic and make it pure upside
I like incremental games but I don't have the wrong kind of autism for factorio or satisfactoryare there other kinds of games that aren't chores in this same ballpark?
>>749690310>that aren't choresthere's none, but try pirating these I guess:ShapezLazy Witch's Factory
>>749690310Factorio is an autist's worse nightmare.
sovl
Factorio seemed like such a chore that I instantly lost the willpower to play the game once I noticed that resource nodes eventually get depleted.
>>749690310Surviving Mars
>>749690609You can modify that, and should unless you enjoy the idea. I always play with nodes that have like 120k resources. The fun for me is in making an incrementally more efficient design, not scrambling to do so.
>>749690609only the starter onesstack mining productivity and you're set for life
Chinese play that irl
>play for 40 hours>get bored and take a break>come back months later and resume game>can't remember shit so restart>repeat foreverI bought the space dlc and never launched a single rocket btw
>>749690736I like playing these games on the default settings, at least for a first playthrough.>>749690742>only the starter onesDid not know that. So you can eventually get some skills/tech that makes nodes reduce at a slower rate until it's so low it's basically an infinite source? That sounds fine but I'm sure you could understand why I thought depleting nodes would go against the idea of a game that you just optimise shit.
>>749689272most people probably did it the natural way>unlock quality>slot it in a module in some machines for the fuck of it, can only make it better right?>two hours later>your complete factory shut down, probably while you're off on another planet>turns out quality ingredients are seen as completely different items and cannot be used by your machines>you now have belts full off singular uncommon rarity things and its completely impossible to check every endpoint to see if something gets stuck, meaning it'll keep getting stuck on occasion for the next 50 hours Its just a complete chore because they don't work like you'd expect them to. The only way to use quality stuff is to hoard it or run it through the recycler gacha until you have enough raw materials to make the one thing you need
>>749690468I tried shapez years ago and it was the game that made me realize that people into these factory builders are for malfunctioning retards. sure it's fun for an hour figuring things out but when you realize that you're just playing worse tetris it hurts>chore game, anime :OI appreciate the recommendations but no thanksI also played leek factory on my phone, but I treat it more like an idle game>>749690504>cerebral gameplay>repetitive gameplay doesn't change at allbut it is for autists, why do you think it's not?>>749690634>relaunched a game that was broken>is still brokenI was told by a trusty anon to stay away and I will
>>749690952>So you can eventually get some skills/tech that makes nodes reduce at a slower rate until it's so low it's basically an infinite source?every mining productivity rank makes you get 10% extra shit whenever you mine somethingat 10 ranks you get 1 extra oreat 100 ranks you get 10this coupled with speed beacons makes you able to directly fill train wagons instantly at one point, instead of having to belt it
>>749691051wow you sound like a faggot
>>749690952It's a fun mechanic at the beginning when the biters are still a threat, so you have to plan for expanding towards more resource patches. But on one of the other planets you get a building that effectively doubles all resource patch contents, combined with mining productivity research and some quality gamba you can easily >5x the effective resources before you even finish the inner planets. In late game mining productivity becomes so stupid that resources are truly infinite.
>>749691273wow you reply like a faggot
>>749690952>So you can eventually get some skills/tech that makes nodes reduce at a slower rate until it's so low it's basically an infinite source?that and resource patches get larger as you move away from the starting point.
>>749689272Plenty of reasons.>Recycling is retarded as an idea, you disassemble and reassemble a thing over and over and it somehow makes the thing better>Realistically for 99% of items you are not going to gamble just to get tiny quantities of better stuff, you'll just make upcycling loops>Every upcycling loop is the exact same, to the point that one blueprint template can do all of them>Recycling puts silly constraints on multiple recipe items, either you end up with transmutation machines or forbid recycling>Legendary quality modules and factories are way too OP and make lategame factories tiny and boring>At the same time the road to get to these lategame factories is just a ten times worse grind than original prod 3 modules>Legendary prod modules make logistics of anything but the basic input products obsolete>No matter what you do, you can't balance the game for both quality and non-quality runs
>>749691315let's make out
>>749689272Nigga, don't just feed basid components. It's so slow and resource intensive. To do it properly you introduce quality at every stage of the production without starving the basic quality pipeline.Your proof of concept is baby's first upcycling setup.
>>749691424you'd love to feel my tongue down your throat wouldn't you faggot
>>749690912There is no way you never launched a rocket in 40 hours of play with the dlc. It rebalances rockets so they're much cheaper and faster to research.
>>749691448It makes exactly zero difference as long as your upcycling loop has an assembly step.
>>749691158>>749691296>>749691390Alright, thank you for the information. Doesn't really sound like a game for me, and that's perfectly normal/okay. I hope everyone else can have fun with it.
I like Railgrade
>>749689272because it's using blue belts and green inserters instead of green belts and white inserters
>>749689272midwits that dont understand law of large numbers
>>749691606It makes a shit ton of difference because instead of rolling on quality once, you roll quality multiple times for the whole pipeline, which let's you quickly build higher quality end products. Building purple quality directly from purple components gives like 25% to get orange yields right off the bat when recycling. Rolling from basic is like 0.01% to get orange or something ridiculous like that.
So when do you "git gud" in this game? I'm close to 600 hours now and beaten the game several times including twice with space age.But i still feel like a complete retard half the time, especially when playing with mods.
>people complain about bitersJust another problem to solve, with bullets
>>749691031Are you retarded? You can allow force downtier to use for any quality
>>749691863This is only the case when you're recycling an item over and over in recyclers without an intermediate manufacturing step, because then all your steps have the 25% manufacturing penalty. If you assemble then recycle the odds are better. With legendary modules and foundries/EM plants you can achieve around 7% conversion rate from base to legendary.
>>749692062biters can be really annoying in the early game, especially when you have no trees around youbut once you've walled off your base they're mostly just things for your artillery train to shoot at
I just started my factory square, I'll improve it once I know every items I want to be available in it.Also, are space casinos still available?
>>749689272At some point this will jam.
>>749689272how many hours until that produces something of 5 quality?
>>749690585Nice
working on a request based train network system so trains won't waste time loading/unloading when it isn't neededthere are probably many like it but this one is mine
