Last thread died before I could reply. The question was that SE would never make something as big and expansive in scope as a AAA game. But the actual cutscenes in Rebirth and BG3 are the same. The big difference is player choice.FF7 should have went all-in on being a dating sim, and player choice. Stack the deck like the original game, so it's biased towards Aerith, then Tifa, but then let player choice run wild. Instead, SE spent insane amounts of money on highly linear cutscenes, with the vast majority of scenes and dialogue being unimportant.
