What were your most fond memories of old pre-big bang maple? For me it was getting into party quests and the required socalizing for it (finding or being the party leader, trying to find and use tracks). The long traveling via ships and talking to people in them (and seeing people discovering balrogs the hard way). Getting event items through quests was cool too. Traveling to places that were way above my level with Dark Sight.

Let's break this down a bit.Maps do not have "caps". You put as many people on the map as you need to clear it every single mob as fast as possible so they can respawn to kill them some more. If you have 5 people on a map that "caps at 5" but two of them are at the bottom and they're taking 3 hits to kill boars, then you need a more players down there helping them because they're taking too long and spawn rates will be slowed as a consequence.BL2 does not have a cap of 5. It has a cap of as little as 3, and most people farming it 14 hours a day can easily clear it with 4 as fast as necessary to minmax spawn rates because they're 40+ and one shotting mobs. It can also have a cap as high as 6 if everyone in the party is, like, level 32 and requires 2 hits for stumps and 3 for boars and they're getting knocked around constantly by touch damage.Minmaxing xp gains in a party is simlpe: more people is generally better, but only if those people are killing as many mobs as possible every 7.5 seconds. If you have 6 level 40s competing for one shotting 2 mobs per person you're being inefficient, but if you have 6 level 30s working together to clear the map every 7 seconds then you're fine. There's no set cap. There is only 7 second clears. You use as many people as you need to do that, simple as that. And even then, having one guy too many so xp is split 6 ways instead of 5 is like a 9% loss in xp gain. It's just not a big enough deal to stubbornly refuse people from training in a popular map. Don't be a douchebag.Remember all of this next time you walk into BL2 asking for a spot and you see a level 32 ice lightning spamming CB three times on boars on the top platform like "sorry man i got this shit locked the fuck down!" as he takes 12 seconds to kill everything.
