No. Their console is always-online and they already put effort into denying you basic rights that they need to give you according to copyright in the countries that they operate in.
Don't trust any modern slop producer that doesn't give you full control over your hardware and insists you follow imaginary versions of copyright law.
Even if they do distribute physical games, they can made just as worthless as digital downloads.

Game Key cards are for third parties like Square who demands them.
Nintendo never puts their own shit on Key cards only real physical or digital only.
The only ones even tangentially related to Nintendo that had Key cards are games published by Koei Tecmo.
>>
We wouldn't need physical if Nintendo games didn't have a disgusting amount of DRM and restrictions in them. Tell me, why can't my Wii and WiiU and 3DS games be played on the switch? Why can't my digital purchases transfer?

The obvious answer is that they want me repaying them over and over again, for no reason. Just like sony.

I can do that on PC too. I've got games from 2001 that still work on my modern PC, and don't require DRM or accounts or server verification. You know what's missing on Nintendo's side? Not needing to constantly buy new hardware incase my old hardware breaks.

Deus Ex: Game of the Year edition still works on my modern PC. Can't even play Super Mario Sunshine on the Switch without paying an extra fee.

>Buy PC to play game

How is this any different? Better yet, there are tons of complaints of newer operating systems completely locking out old games from running, and at what point is replacing all the files with fixes any different from emulating?
>>
>>749895149
IF Nintendo and sony allowed you to replay your old games on your modern consoles, maybe it wouldn't be a problem. And before you bitch and whine about how "THE CARTRIDGES WOULDN'T FIT" maybe they should at least allow sideloading of our own roms and isos. But that would cut into their precious profit margins.

>>749895158
>Better yet, there are tons of complaints of newer operating systems completely locking out old games from running, and at what point is replacing all the files with fixes any different from emulating?
You have the freedom to tinker with the files and do whatever you want, so they cannot tell you what to do with your game. I've yet to find a game that legit doesn't work with modern hardware, and games that push updates will always let you roll back to previous versions, in case of incompatibility with new features.

Wouldn't it be nice if Nintendo let you roll back OOT to version 1.0, instead of being forcefed censored slop?

Those games were released on console in a finished state, but I suppose "1.0" is another way to say "Early Access" when it comes to modern slop so the confusion is understandable.
>You have the freedom to tinker with the files and do whatever you want
Again, it's just emulation at that point with the hoops you need to jump through, and you have the freedom to do the same with OOT or whatever old Nintendo game you want so why are you acting as if you are completely locked out of their catalogue?
>>
>>749880701

I have to wrestle that freedom from nintendo, who keeps locking down their hardware, just to fix their shoddy mistakes. How can they be the good guys if they treat video game consoles like a prison?
>>
>>749895345
Yeah man, Nintendo is evil and greedy because I can't install MY roms (they are definitely mine because I definitely ripped them myself and definitely didn't download them from someone else) on my console. And I would definitely NEVER EVER use this hardware vulnerability to EVER pirate any software, I ONLY want to play my old roms (from games I definitely own btw dude trust me) and nothing else.
I'm done entertaining delusional vegan mental gymnastics. Keep seething over a random company that doesn't make products for you, it's a great use of your free time, I promise.

>>
>>749895668
>How can they be the good guys if they treat video game consoles like a prison?
Because they want people to buy their new consoles? Because they want people who buy their new consoles to have games that justify their purchase?
>I have to wrestle that freedom from nintendo
Why are you ignoring the fact that previous consoles are completely cracked open and games are available to you FOR FREE for all of them? Oh no, I really have to wrestle to get every single game since they shut down 1 or 2 sites, guess I'll have to move to the other 100+ sites and torrents that still have them.

>Sounds like Nintendo can't be trusted
Trusted to hold on to their own games? If you bought the game then why are you so worried about them trying to stop you from illegally obtaining it?
>>
>>749896108
>Because they want people to buy their new consoles? Because they want people who buy their new consoles to have games that justify their purchase?
That doesn't really justify them being greedy.

>Why are you ignoring the fact that previous consoles are completely cracked open and games are available to you FOR FREE for all of them?
Because Nintendo keeps throwing stupid lawsuits around to get emulation outlawed, and of course you always victim blame, saying "WELL THIS ONE PIRATE GLOATED ABOUT IT, SO NOW WE HAVE TO SHUT EVERYTHING DOWN". Like complaining that a man is yelling as he's murdered, instead of being against the murder in the first place.

>Trusted to hold on to their own games? If you bought the game then why are you so worried about them trying to stop you from illegally obtaining it?
Because according to Nintendo, it's illegal for me to even rip roms from my own copy of the game. It's "violating their copyright" by circumventing copy protection.
>>
>>749896108
because no matter what a vegan says, it is ALWAYS them getting mad when they can't steal whatever they want with zero pushback. it is never about game preservation, it is never about freedom, it is never about consumer rights. 100% of the time it is "how dare they expect me to pay them for their work!"

Yelling as he murders*
They are gloating about stealing games and taunting Nintendo, but they cry out as consequences hit the., "How could bragging about distributing a companies games come back to bite me?!"
>it's illegal for me to even rip roms from my own copy of the game
It is when you upload it online and start sharing it with everyone. You know why they called it Shareware? Because they explicitly wanted you to share it, and guess what, they didn't feel the same way about the game you actually had to pay for.
>>
>>749896617
>Making money is in itself not greed, except to those that don't want to give them money.
Gloating about all the money they make on the regular, and then raising prices and hiding selfishly behind tariffs and inflation is pretty greedy, to be honest. You guys never stopped bitching about the price increase of the steam deck, after all.

>They are gloating about stealing games and taunting Nintendo,
And there it is, assuming that wanting some semblance of freedom is always bad because Nintendo told you so.

>It is when you upload it online and start sharing it with everyone
Wrong, read the DMCA. It forbids even personal usage when it comes to circumventing DRM.
>>
Any time a company says something like this you are already living on borrowed time. If they truly had plans to continue supporting a physical future they wouldn't even say anything to begin with
>>
>>749896787
Remember when sony promised to keep supporting used games? They even made a cute promotional vid for it.

Boy, that aged badly.
>>
The only thing Nintendo has stayed 100% consistent about is that they do not like the achievements/trophies system and believe it devalues the fun of a game where the reason you should be playing is to have fun not unlock fake digital trophies. Everything else they flip flop on.

Read the DMCA, at best they'd be fine with you making up to a few backup copies in case your disc might break. Is that more freedom, having a limited amount of rips available to you? Or is it different now?

>>749896927
It's in-game unlockables, they still don't have trophies tied to accounts.
>>
>>749896938

>>
>>749896938

>It's in-game unlockables, they still don't have trophies tied to accounts.
It's the same carrot on a stick psychology. Nobody cares about the forgettable unlockable they just want the proof of completing the challenge just like the achievement hunter.
>>
>>749896991
>The tariff sale was the stupidest way to justify one and yet craziest thing they've done considering they hate putting their games on sale.
And it was barely even worthwhile. Which one of their flagship titles went on sale for 99% off? They couldn't even put their older titles on sale like that. Meanwhile you can buy the whole Half Life/Portal/Left4dead franchises together for about 5 bucks on sale.

>Name a company that wants you to take their games and distribute them for free.
Fractal Softworks, Re-logic, Subset Games, Yacht Club, any company that doesn't put DRM in their games.

>Read the DMCA, at best they'd be fine with you making up to a few backup copies in case your disc might break.
Wrong. See: https://cdt.org/insights/ownership-and-copyright-law-legal-fences-between-you-and-your-purchases/

>Section 1201 of the DMCA prohibits circumventing technological protection measures (TPMs) that control access to a work protected by copyright. These TPMs act as digital locks securing the copyrighted software embedded in everything from mobile phones and pacemakers to cars and tractors. While these locks may prevent some unauthorized copying (which is already illegal), they also prevent device and auto owners from accessing their copy of the software for legitimate reasons, like diagnosing and repairing problems, retrieving personal data, or modifying the software to suit their needs.

Why would you downgrade to physical, once you've experienced freedom on PC?

This is a massive cope, I've bought dozens of games from g2a. Ive never had an issue.

This is the equivalent of telling game stores they can't sell used copies of a game. Pirating isnt a real issue, you only potentially lose sales in the first 3 months the game is out.

Buying from G2a is a gamble, though. It's the price you pay for buying essentially used goods.

If you want to support the dev, you just buy the game. If you don't want to pay the money, just pirate. Why half-ass it?

There's still automatic updates and shit

I apologize to Nintendo. At the time the Switch 2 seemed like overpriced bullshit but in reality they were the good guys

A. I dont give a shit about supporting devs
B. Pirating games is even more risky, if your ip catches on they'll bitch at you
C. The setup involved with pirating certain games is tedious
D. I want to own the game
E. I dont agree with the price valuation the devs set for their game

If you have the physical game and are disconnected then it won't even check, and as long as you have a game installed it shouldn't bother you either.

>browns getting mad at nintendo again

A, B, C and E are solved by just pirating and not living in a third world country. When you actually pirate a game, you own it, so that solves D.

If I need an internet connection to play it, then it doesn't get the label 'physical game'. It might as well be digital if I have to be online to use it.

>strict tournament rules
Bathing and not sexually assaulting women aren't 'strict' rules anon.
