Is RNG and gambling a skill?
>>
not really it's just a gamble
>>
One offs? no. Over time? yes.
>>
It's a talent.

>RNG
>gambling

These aren't skills, and skill required is inversely proportion to how bad your luck is. Don't understand? Here's a 4chan example.
>you enter a thread
>the thread has a crazy person
This is bad luck, no? What if you leave the thread? You're using a skill known as self-control.
Second example: You play a gacha. Your friend rolls the character they want on the first pull. You reroll 100 times to get the same character. You used skill, and he did not.

inversely proportional*

You're confusing skill with multiple things; effort, persistence and exposure to adversity.

Rolling 100x isn't skill, it's more attempts, the probably doesn't change by trying more.

Likewise, leaving a shitty thread might demonstrate self-control, but encountering a schizo doesn't magically make you more skilled than someone who never encountered one.

Bad luck can increase the amount of effort required to achieve something without increasing the skill required to perform it.

By your logic, someone who loses 1,000 coin flips is more skilled than someone who wins their first. That's fucking ridiculous.

You're measuring how much adversity someone experiences, not how competent they are at overcoming it.

Okay, then I'll demonstrate competence. I'm closing this thread and closing it on the catalog. I will be on the catalog setting up filters, which is done for hours every day. I do this because I'm the last 4channer left and I don't know who any of you are. Enjoy each other's company.

Are you an FGO player?
>>
>>749965398
I would play this

Risk assessment, if we want to get mental gymnastics-y about it

>card art is literally just a ken sugimori illustration from 2004

holy lazy
>>
>>749965398
that is 100% a terrible trade
there's plenty of mons with 200-300 health, meaning meaning you'd need to hit all 3 heads to take them out. and if you don't then you've wasted 3 energy on something that could have gone to a stronger mon. and if you happen to go the other direction and roll 3 tails you outright lose.
perfect scenario you MAYBE take out one active mon, worst case you fucking lose
>>
>>749968329
This fag plays to lose. Bitch made.
>>
>>749965398
Yes, it is.
>>
>>749968449
i don't play this shit at all, but you don't need to to know it's terrible card
>>
>>749965398
How often do people even play cards for coin toss effects? Only played around Gen V-VI and most would opt for the most consistent effects, and that was like ten years ago.

The cpu loves them in pokemon pocket tcg
Mainly because it can cheat with them freely to fuck with you.
Sure let's just flip heads 6 times in a row so meowth never takes any damage which lets you set up a full backrow that's totally fair
