>>750006336did you play castlevania before? i guess there's nothing bad about it if you don't have a point of reference but all in all it's not THAT bad, they went with a theme and stuck with it
>>750006942I've played AoS, SotN, PoR, OoE, and kekstained. It's good. I'd give it a 8/10.
>>750007023you have to play HoD and tell me what you think about that OST then because if you also love that one then you just like everything
>>750006942I'm actually a huge CV fan, I'm fully aware the guy they hired to make the OST was a horrible choice considering the themes of the game but calling the music straight up bad is crazy to meThey are good songs, they just completely ignore what castlevania is
My issue with the songs is that they start good but then the beat drops and it sounds strange until it picks up just to loop it from the bad point all over again.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kpf8Ym8Sj-8Like this one, it starts good then it goes trap at 0:28 but then it repairs itself at 0:51 just to loop back to the drop.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZI7sxx0CEUThis is the best song though
>>750007023I played Castlevania 1, 2, 3, Belmont's Revenge, 4, Dracula X, Rondo of Blood, Bloodlines, SotN, CotM, HoDiss, Aria, Dawn (Improvement Hack), PoR, Eclessia and Rebirth 1.So yeah I played my fair share of this IP, even more the MegaMan, which I only played parts of the series.Belmont's Curse can't even run on my poor rig, Bloodstained could barely run at low settings and without frying my PC, even Hollow Knight chugged along.Magnavale gets hate for being a furry clone of Aria but it isn't too bad, what else there is too?
>>750007858I saw someone in a thread last night using the song from the Library to shit on the OST with 20+ replies to the post. That shit had me doubting my own sanity because I remember hearing it in game for the first time and being like "damn this is pretty good"
>>750008479There are a fuckton of dishonest culture warriors in these threads, right now they're preoccupied in another thread but as soon as that one's dead they'll come here.Really sucks that 4chan is the best and the worst site to discuss things

Does anyone know how to get to this swirly bit of the map? I want to clear everything up before I fight Dracula. I'm not even sure what caused it to show up.Also if I knew killing Issac gave you a super jump I would have gone after him much earlier. Would have saved me a lot of time.>>750008575Outside of one or two eternal spergs they'll eventually move on to the next thing they want to dedicate all their time and energy to being mad about.
>>750008890Isn't that just the warped world you go into the bad ending?
>>750008959Maybe? I don't think it was on the map until after I got the bad ending and beat Death. Might be wrong though.
>>750006336Nah, the OST is solid in certain aeras. The "general consensus" on /v/ come from people who haven't played it.
>>750006336Most of the original songs are fine. Not my style in the least, definitely not what I have would've gone with for a late 1400s France game, but I can see the vision.Anything that's meant to be a remix of an old CV track is, frankly, unforgivable and should be derided. That's my final statement on the OST.
>>750008479I find the OST to be pretty interesting. The songs are all really long and complex, which goes well with how large the areas are. They're really fun to listen to because there's so much going on. Library was actually one I needed some time with, and then when it clicked it clicked hard.Favourite song so far might be Clock Tower. The insanely pronounced clock sounds in it are ear sex.
>>750009262I've played it and I'm playing itIt's a shitty Castlevania but good hollow knight clone
I just don't care for that style of music
>>750006336It's a worse ost than Rogue Prince of Persia which was done by the same guy
Do shitposters and culture warrior tourists usually get BTFO this hard?
>>750006336I think the clocktower song is goodUnfortunately the game was very average, just got the true ending yesterdayThe game isn’t really castlevania unfortunately, feels closer to Ori
>>750009919Nothing like hollow knight anonHollow knight is like Zelda 2
>>750006336Does this game have kino backgrounds at least?
>>750008890Just walk into there from the top without interacting with the clock
>>750010736
>>750008890> Also if I knew killing Issac gave you a super jumpIt doesn’t, you don’t get a super jump in this game
>>750010736Some hate them, I really like them
>>750011092
>>750010736Holy Innocents' is probably my favorite locale. The OST isn't as great as other games, but it fits the game well. They're all pretty long and repetitive due to how big the areas are and how long you're in them. Not the sort of thing you'll want to listen to outside the game. Nothing particularly risky/memorable like Awakened Soul either.
>>750011141
>>750010736Backgrounds seem to be the focus of the art in the game
I've not been impressed by a single one of these western "Castlevania" games. The music is always shit and at that point why bother?
>>750011202Notre Dame has been the only ost that I've genuinely disliked so far.
>>750010837>It doesn’t, you don’t get a super jump in this gameNot him. But you can use his arcana to jump to the top of whatever room you're in. Be that a ceiling or the sky.
>>750011141I liked how they incorporated Carmilla's mask in this.
>>750010837Anon I starting to get a feeling that you might not have actually played the gameAlso that you're schizophrenic
>>750011740I have played the game and got the true ending>>750011634I just used the time stop, it kind of seems pointless anyway, there’s nowhere that really benefits from super jumping in the game
>>750011906You can use it to more easily visit alucard's room and stuff, if you haven't already gone the long route around. I mean yeah. You get the ability pretty late so chances are there isn't much to use it for. Especially not with all the fast travel options. But if you haven't done a lot to complete the different areas, the jump can indeed help you do so faster and easier.
>>750007157Dissonance? I only played one GBA CV and I didn't have particularly fond memories of it. It was just okay.
So I figured out the portraits point to hidden paths, but what do I do here? The floor isn't breakable.
>>750011467IGA was the heart and soul of Castlevania Bloodstained 2 will win bigly
>>750012523Just do a drop down jump.
>>750012028Yeah I guess that makes senseMost of the game is set out so horizontally and the one area that’s vertical (clock tower) has ceilings everywhere
What the hell counts as a "smash" when doing the rite of mercy for the stone fist? Killing enemies with the earthquake or the fist sure doesn't.
>>750012685FUCK lmao thx
>>750012523This one got me stuck for a LONG time.Drop through the floor. There's multiple secret areas where that's needed.
>>750006336it's just reskinned dead cells
>>750012723If it's the one I'm thinking of you have to knock enemies off a ledge with the initial rock summon and if they die from fall damage it counts.
>>750008736Pretty mediocre stuff. Nothing offensively bad like BC, but nothing memorable either. Big Old Tree’s kind of nice.
>>750012817Rip that's probably it.
>>750010736Any decent bit of scenery is marred by that disgusting colored smog effect.
>>750012723I think it's hitting grounded enemies with the fist? I'm not actually sure, I just know that sometimes the counter ticks. I think a lot of the challenges could use some more precise wording. >challenge to chain 4 enemies at once>go into a room with a lot of enemies and press Y>nothing happens>turns out it needs to be SPECIFICALLY 4 enemies, no more no less
>>750009262I own the game and I muted the damn soundtrack.
What does /v/ think of Rainbow Cemetery?Personally, I’ve always loved the track, but my friends all seem to think it’s the big stinkaroo.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gku4V-Yg2F8&list=RDgku4V-Yg2F8&start_radio=1&pp=ygUQcmFpbmJvdyBjZW1ldGVyeaAHAdIHCQlHDAGHKiGM7w%3D%3D&ra=m
>>750010736Sort of. The far back backgrounds have that shitty stylized artstyle you see in Paris, but when that's obscured it actually looks decent.

>>750006336Stop discussing this piece of shit travesty of a CV game
>>750014541That part was raw as fuck. Death is 100% correct and Rose's impotent screeching about "if it was up to me there would be no more death" is incredibly childish. No matter who wins in the fight between the Belmonts and Dracula, Death wins by default
NOWHY IS IT GOING DOWNYOU TOLD ME YOU WERE HAVING A BLASTNOOOOOOOHELP ME JOAN OF ARC
I think there are some tracks that are enjoyable but I struggle to call the soundtrack good overall. Nothing ever truly captures the intensity of the older games IMO. But, its also not outright awful or grating to listen to, either. Just mostly meh.My main issue with the game is more so that the platforming sections are a bit more frequent than I would have liked, and a bit too meatboy inspired in design. I'll also clarify that its less of a skill issue (they're not particularly hard) and more of a pacing issue for me.
>>750014112Ender Lilies and Ender Magnolia are pretty cool and very cheap on sale. The Vagrant is alright too, it's $3.99 right now on steam.Ignore Blasphemous 1 as it's closer to a 2D dark souls, but I hear the sequel is a metroidvania, though I can't confirm.
>>750014112Infernax is a really good one. As is Astalon. They're my main recommendations. I'd also go for Animal Well, which is different, but quite charming with lots of puzzles, and The seige and the sandfox is actually fucking greatalso bloodstained obviously
>>750014972>The Vagrantseconded. Surprisingly good.
>>750014851Shitposting aside this game is such a double edged sword. On one hand if it sells well Konami might give us more Castlevania. On the other hand they could make more gay ones like this one
>>750015135I don't want more Castlevania if this is what we are going to get. Just release a 3D collection and ignore the property again.
>>750015135I honestly think that if this is what we get when they're trying, then selling well will only give them license to make something even worse. I honestly think that Castlevania might be done. It's spent too long being shamefully dressed in the clothes of its clones, and they will never do anything cool or experimental again.Time to get on the bloodstained train, for me.

>>750015651Maybe it'll come out during the first quarter?
Just ordered. Pretty psyched, enjoyed the demo a lot. From that little bit, it felt like it's very movement-oriented and really wants you to take advantage of how fluidly one action goes into another, like being able to two-in-one from basically anything to anything else, but also to be mindful on your positioning throughout the course of these actions to look out for potential attacks. Makes for both a similarity and a contrast from how older Castlevanias operate since they're also very positioning-oriented but movement is more of a metric for determining said positioning rather than something that governs a bevy of actions.
>>750015651>>delayed from 2026 to 2027I'm actually happy for this. The first one wasn't done when it released and it had a few problems that turned people off it.
>>750015842>Just ordered. Pretty psychedI'm sure you'll have a blastThey sure caught lightning in a bottle when they returned to form and wrote this love letter to the series
>>750015880I just hope if it has a randomizer it's not as half-assed as the first game's was, I feel like half my runs end because you would have to use Reflector Ray in a 3D environment to proceed.
Tried the demo and yeah game both plays and looks budget as fuck but it's hard to feel bad for Igafags considering how many alternatives they get. Meanwhile classicfags have had to contend with two budget spinoffs of an Igavania and Konami giving M2 lint anf pocket change to remake some of the shitty games into something respectable. It is insane how literally no indie dev wants to make classicvanias to any degree.
>>750016046I fucking hate Belmont's Curse with a passion, but this is at least true. IGAfags are eating good by comparison. I can only think of a few games that are based on classicvania, really. Must be awful

>>750015842Might have been a fun game if any of that was true. Can't believe the dumb shit this game let me get away with. What retard makes a game where you can air stall 4 seconds by down attacking in air where the enemies mostly cant hit you.

How does this compare to the latest 2D ninja gaiden and shinobi games?
>>750016407Well I know that since I did it there as well.
>>750015135this goyim ass mentality has to stop. nintendies do the same shit. "damn this game sucks but I gotta buy it or they'll never make another one!" ok fuck it let it die. there's like 5 goated titles in this series, there's no room for mediocrity.
Most of this game feels like the path of pain bit from Hollow Knight. It's kinda shit. Glad I only pirated it.
>>750016046Migami Games, nigga. Lecarde Chronicles 2 and Chronicles of the Wolf are exceptions; almost everything those guys make is classicvania inspired.

>>750019391The fact that they tried to make the male friend of the female lead and bitter douchebag but the lead comes off as more of a cunt and heartless and they literally designed the bad guy as a TOTALLY NOT TRUMP CAUSE TRUMP BAD IMMA RIGHT?Sucks because gameplay wise was ok but not great either, also too short.
Is the game good?
>>750019483Yeah. Forget the retards.
>>750019083God I hated how HoD gated progression behind literal locked doors in addition to (all the same as before) power upgrades. Movement feels good, but everything you fight is borderline defenseless against that alone, on top of you getting busted-ass spell fusions. Ice+cross might as well be Juste pulling the gat.the OST is good thoughever, fuck the haters, Successor of Fate is a banger and the overall direction was ambitious in a cool alternative way. Vampire Killer 2K2 I think was the first time I heard Clockwork since I didn't play CV3 until years later, banger theme, probably played as Simon in the boss rush dozens of times for it alone. Remember reading in a magazine how they compromised the technical requirements of the music to leave more memory for graphics because they basically wanted to make SotN for the GBA, and thought a large part of SotN's identity was the smooth high fidelity graphics. Kind of makes me wonder if they thought another part of the appeal of SotN was having a billion ways to break the game, since HoD definitely goes that route.
The music really disappointed me but in the completely opposite way it did most people.I kept seeing people here talk about how dogshit the music was and, as a bad vidya music enthusiast, i thought i was in for some trash kino but it was just mediocre. The way you guys talked about it made it seemed like it would be some Sonic Chronicles shit

Instead he's some geek's idea of billy badass, gets away with acting like a smarmy faggot because the writers made him capable of kicking anybody's ass. Fucking hated it. >>750018979>making it about some Netflix bullshitThe ones who made it about the netflix show was konami and the developers, redditor-kun.
>>750006336The only thing I really disliked about this game, besides the butchering of established lore, is the emphasis on tight platforming sections. Not because they are hard, but because It gea really tedious and It feels as if, instead of exploring a castle, I am actually just theough many short and challenging levels that somehow connect seamlessly in one another. Really, exploration is nowhere to be found in this game, all there is are platforming challenges that get really annoying halfway throughAnd the discourse around "this is how It has always been" on twitter makes me want to kill the homosexuals

>>750021647Because it's not for them? I don't see why "I hope [group] likes it too" means that that is the sole audience for something.
>>750021472Are they actually good or are they only "good" because of the coom?
This game was okay, it mostly felt like a mix between metroid and classicvania, and the problems it has can be boiled down to "amateur devs given professional budget and no idea what to do with it"I'd be madder about it if we weren't getting 2 igavanias next year.
>>750021598And yet.. this is how it has always been…
>>750021794They’re good if you like the NES/Famicom Castlevanias. You can tell actual thought went into level design and enemy placement. Honestly, I’d say they’re not all that good for cooming.
>>750021830>2 igavaniasBloodstained and what’s the other one?
>>750022096Are you a homosexual?
The dodge button is fucking useless. Just slide or dash away, you will get hit if you dodge backwards no matter what. Even doing the dodge attack doesn't work.
>>750021338I don't remember her boobs being that big in game but I wish they were
>>750021598>Not because they are hard, but because It gea really tedious and It feels as if, instead of exploring a castle, I am actually just theough many short and challenging levels that somehow connect seamlessly in one another.congrats, you just found out how every single non-IGAvania works in the franchise, namely classicvanias, and then some (like Circle of the Moon) which despite having backtracking for an item or boss to progress the story, pretty much end up feeling like areas being beaten like levels as well.Every single entry in the Castlevania Anniversary Collection fits your description like a glove.
>>750021720Nice melty reddit-kun. There was an article and a screenshot posted. Maybe you should read them instead of pretending you're a good reader
>>750007858It's too Soulslike (ironic), Castlevania music has never been bombastic orchestral like that.
>>750022259I assumed he means the Spyro one
>>750022548No nigga, the Classicvanias are structured in concise distinct levels each with a theme of their own, emphasizing a mix of obstacle and combat course, not at all as tight and as tedious as what we have seem in BC. Have you even played the classicvanias or are you just another one of the gay tourist that arrived from from Netflix show? You dont even need to answer, I know what you are
>>750022259>>750022649Yeah Magnavale, although I suspect it won't release until 2028 honestly.
>>750022404they are so stupid huge that even if it's different it's still going to be bigger than your head anyway
>>750006336On its own, its down to preferenceIn a vacuum i think its fine, on the game? Some tracks dont fit their moments, and loops are too short for the size of each areaOn THIS franchise? It absolutely sucks, and the theatrics they chose to add it to suck even more, the isaac and dracula pre battle cutscenes are some of the worst delivered "hype" moments ive seen in a while, literal crappy trailer shots with dubstep, awfulIf this wasnt a castlevania game i wouldnt have a problem, i dont have many issues with the gameplay itself as others, problem is, its the theatrics and details that disrupt my enjoyment of the game and makes things worse for manyGoing from Classicvanias to SOTN style felt like a sensible change in gameplay mechanics because the tone and vibes remained similar/evolved naturallyThe gameplay changes now are more noticeable and jarring because of how different the whole aesthetic has been disturbed into something antithetical to the stablished style
>>750022715>Classicvanias are structured in concise distinct levels each with a theme of their own, emphasizing a mix of obstacle and combat courseSo... BC?
>>750022715>not at all as tight and as tedious as what we have seem in BCyou're probably taking lighter, more modern stuff like CV IV and Bloodlines as basis for your criticism.really, go ahead and play the older ones. hell, even Dracula X is tight and tedious like that. ignore the health bars, it only takes one medusa or crow to fuck you up.I get you in regards to the Hollow Knight spike meme rooms, but everything else is matching the classics just fine.
The problem i have with this classicvania and Belmont's Curse comparison is that i think the most fun part of classicvanias is the shitty controls and how you have to get used to them. I've seen people describe them as "puzzle platformers" and i feel like that's a pretty accurate description. You have to think 2 steps ahead of what you are currently doing
>aieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee is a reference to this super old game you don't understand
>>750023421Can you communicate like a normal person please?
>>750023207>I get you in regards to the Hollow Knight spike meme rooms, but everything else is matching the classics just fineThe thing is, Belmont's Curse doesn't really have platforming that have you dealing with both enemies and obstacles, you know, fit for actual action platformer games. The only part that somewhat resembled that was the castle's entrance, but for the most part they are completely different kind of challenges, and yes, in terms of platforming BC was mostly having to deal with spike and buzzsaw rooms.
Good thing is, it was a major success and the direction could go anywhere but at least its not trying too hard to be part of the Netflix series.
>>750010736Theres some good stuff yeah, perhaps strongest point of the game, still i dont know if id call it particularly memorable, some places can be a lil too "big blob of heavy color coded background" to stay in memory The stained glass places in notre dame are memorable for one, parts of the library with the astronomy stuff or the red moonMaybe the start of the castle with the Lisa statue which was cute
>>750023442It's more like Bloodstained with a reduced emphasis on enemy platforming.
>>750023442I remember BC having some rooms like what you describe but the problem there is that you can just slide past enemies and completely ignore them unlike, for example, a skeleton spamming bones like a retard requiring 100% of your attention in a classicvania game
>>750023442honestly the fact that faggots here are pretending to not understand what you're saying is proof they are either die hard fans who are butt hurt you don't like the newest entry or just limp wristed little bitches who want to own the chuds.you are 1000% correct.
>>750021472>Google it>hentaiYou should be ashamed of yourself.
>>750023358pretty much, you know where to jump and even how to beat each type of monster, but it's a 5 minute gauntlet of calculated but fast-thinking decisions one after the other, and your lifebar is the least of your concerns to the point you might even take damage to save time and take advantage of the invincibility frames.learning a whole stage usually takes longer than learning a boss enough to beat it nodmg
The modding scene for this game is pretty impressive for being so new. I really like the minimap mod.
Why couldn't they get Michiru Yamane? It's not like she only works with jap devs, she did the skullgirls ost back in the day n' sheeit
>>750023718Isn't she retired? She hasn't worked on anything for four years.
I also ran through the game and also felt it's like a solid 8. My main complaint is the lack of better movement option, I feel like any game with a massive map like this needs to give you a sprint or something to get around faster either immediately or like the 20% mark at the latest. Best you get is shit that only makes you a little faster under specific conditions and only for a couple of seconds. The music does reek of lo-fi beats to kill Dracula's minions to which doesn't really fit but most of the music is fine. The mirror dungeon maze thing was the most actively unfun chunk of the game, but overall it still rests at a solid 8/10.
I'm having a blast. Playing it 3 times today and completed it 4 in two days. Nothing in the series is as good as this.
>>750023837there are 4 movespeed trinkets, and only 1 of them is useful. they all give 35% under different circumstances for different durations.>for 7 seconds after killing an enemy>for 5 seconds after grappling with the magic whip>for 30 seconds after using a mirror/boat>While under 15% mana
>>750023969That's what I said. That being said most of the relics were useless % shit anyway. Maybe we'll get lucky and get a PC modder changing one of them to just give you double or triple speed just as long as it's on.
>>750019483All things considered, its still a fun gameIts a good thing its short though
>>750023837It's a massive conflict of game mechanics. Teleporting is greatly discouraged with the mirror to mirrow teleporting being absolutely retarded and needing 2 loading screens (most likely more because of how retardedly it was made) and the other method only takes you from one area to another. So you think "well fast travel isn't needed if the gameplay is good!" except they give you nothing to make the trek fun
I softlocked myself twice in my first playthrough by trying to sequence break and getting stuck. It bothers me that they give you all these movement options and then tell you "no, you can't do it like that"
>>750024271>See treasure chest on a higher up platform I can't reach yet>Lure flying enemy to hook onto and sling myself up>It works>Feel incredibly satisfied for being able to think outside the box>Mfw walk 3 inches to the left and there is a clear path to just jump up
>>750024354Is it the one on the cemetery? Had a similar situation lmao
Can we just get a Julius game set in 1999 already Konami please for fuck's sake
>>750024269It just needs more teleports. The movement is actually fine, a bit snappier than Bloodstained imo.
>>750024556That's the one lmao
>>750024354In the undercroft on Notre Dame there was this one long room with a path to the top right that requires double jump, but that room also spawns ghosts, so I lured one over and climbed up.The next room had a path to the left through a one-way slide gap that had wide gaps between crumbling platforms with an intermittent laser. Using the slide kick coyote jump and air dash, followed by getting hit by the laser, I could reach each platform, then wall jumped up to the next room.the final room had a spike pit that required double jump to traverse, no way around it, but by reaching this room it set my spawn point there and the path back was blocked by the one-way slide gap, so the only way back was to die and lose 15 minutes of progress because I hadn't saved at the nearest mirror in a while.
>>750021598>besides the butchering of established loreWhat butchering?
Does the "last save" option actually reloard my game or does it teleport me to the last save room i rested at?
>>750024809
I beat it 100% earlier. It's a 7/10 at best. The dialogue is atrocious.
watching carmilla bite rose and moan her name made my pp twitch vampire yuri is my fetish
>>750024987Do NOT use last saveIt will reload your save. You're better off dying since you get to keep your progressLast save is literally worthless
>>750025040Dialogue is atrocious AND there's too much of it. They hired professional voice actors to give amateur performances, objectively worse than SotN's shitty audio quality and actual amateurs.
I miss Charlotte...
>>750024809nta but brauner having a cartoony ass retroactively added story is giga stupidwhat the fuck you do you mean it's a whole lineage of people who are all vampires, look the exact same and have the same name and also they're all artists??
>>750008479are you brown or just a zoomer?

>>750025149well all belmonts strut the same way and look similar as well, except SImon due to his Conan cosplay but Chronicles fixed him back into looking just like the rest
>>750025131The horrible voice direction is noticeable. Compare the Sypha and Dracula VA performances from the game to the Netflix series. Night and day difference. They really fucked up.
>>750025135You miss her stink
>>750019483it's MID
Any there any PoR references in the game?
>>750008479by itself the soundtrack is boring but actually in the game it does get you pretty good.deaths boss theme and notre dame are the highlights.
>>750025250
Just pirated this game, what am I in for?
>>750024086>17 hours metroidvania>short
>>750025317no, there are none at all.not even a single character shows up prominently in dracula's castle.
>>750025259There's one voice line that's just a single word, yet the actress flubs it horribly. I can't remember what the word was exactly, but it was similar to "Possibly" and she pronounces it like "Possiblrl" and nobody recording it thought to go "let's try that one again"
Just finished it today. Its not abysmal like some are claiming but it certainly isn't what I could define as a good game. It functions, but poorly. Core movement is sloppy with input lag being amateur hour. The music honestly sounds like something a kid with Garageband could do. The super meatboy/Celeste spike rooms feel rote. The color pallete is gaudy. The script and voice acting is soap opera/porn tier. The game is just... There. You know something is missing but you try to rationalize because its made by a team in way over their head. I could maybe recommend it as an oddity but certainly not anything else. Weird game.
>>750020368Tranlsation, they send the jeet bots
>>750025465you could say, forgettable
>>750025358Ok thanks
good game, just 25% longer than it needed to be.no desire to replay.
>>750025317Browner stinks up the castle
>>750025518100%. I'm actually kinda surprised the game was released. I guess Konami just cut their losses and felt it couldn't get any better, so they gave it a date.
>>750025131During the final battle against Dracula he says something along the lines of "You will be the last Belmont" in the dialogue boxBut the voice actor actually says "You will be the FIRST Belmont"Quite a lot of grammatical mistakes and oversights too, like "we're" being mispelled as "were" or "wickedness" being spelled "wickness"
>>750025682This is why I consider this game to be made by amateur devs with a professional budget; they keep making the same mistakes they would've with a budget of loose change and burger king coupons, only now the credits are much longer and have famous names.
>>750006336>Umm what do we think about X game?? Doesnt matter I liked it!!
>>750011092Just say no then

Its almost like there was no love put into the development of it. Like they made a huge checklist to make a >mega awesome totally tubular game that'll sell a zillion copiesJack of all trades, master of none. Such a bummer. Maybe it could've been better handled by a veteran team but what we got it what we got. Sad stuff, man.

>>750023885Truly a return to form for the series.
>>750026353Could be
>>750026508I can pretty much guarantee it's the devs talking to each other, larping as fans.
>>750022986>>750022649Why the fuck is that sleazy lazy shit about? game started development around April 2025 or so, so its been more then half a year and apparently, the demo has more then half the map to explore but most of it was gated by roadblocks you can bypass normally because the abilities upgrades you need are lock past those parts, but the fact the trailers show teh double jump and a bird transformation, indicates they are programmed into the game, one guy apparently hacked his save file to add him the missing items and was able to go beyound what the demo allows you to explore, but without cheating, this is the most you can go, and some areas are SUPER FUCKING HARD to reach without souls like Hanged Man and Werewolf, bouncing on enemies with Claws of Fate, and LOTS of pateince because the hit detection its a bit shit at time, (that and steam's input lag).Seems to me the game doesnt need more then 6 months to be finished, even Belmont's Curse timegap between the original announcement, the demo and the final release wasnt that big isnt it?Why do these indies had to procrastinate so much, and NO i dont believe its because of ''muh personal real life'', i really doubt that.
>>750023105Belmonts Curse is just Hollow Knight and Celeste with a Castlevania skin
>>750026863As much as i dislike both games, I wish it was as responsive as hk and Celeste.
>>750026738NTA but Shankar was the name of Netflix Castlevania’s executive producer. The Netflix series could be viewed as “safe edgy” because it took lazy potshots at groups who it’s socially acceptable to attack.
>>750007206It's bad. Every level sounds the same. Even mediocre Castlevanias like Aria of Sorrow have music that gives every room its own personality.
>>750023772Also didnt she falt for the cancellation smear campaign against Mike Z and believe the false allegations to the point she didnt updated her info on the matter?
>>750026829Generally, indie games vastly underestimate how much of game development is fixing shit that isn't working right, and every single one misses their first release estimate. I did not know the game started development in April last year though, so the full release might actually be some time next year, they've done well so far. also your image is wrong, I've explored 59% without cheats

What's the gimmick with the hall of mirrors? I'm just kneeling in front of random mirrors and it keeps taking me back to the beginning.
>>750026980show me your map
>>750006336Why does the game give itself a hard time by including a bunch of contrived lore-breaking bullshit that would force Konami to decanonize it immediately in the next game?

>>750027047God damn, it was 60% when I first got 535, I guess they keep adding rooms that accidentally get included in demo patches.
>>750027185From what i read, MagnaDev was patching and nerfing souls like Hanged Man, changing rooms left and right and making sure people dont ''exploit'' the demo.thanks for sharing your map, also i noticed, now when i scale back to 320x240p, i get ugly crunchy artifacts, before i used to get perfect pixels windowed
>>750027305Thanks for posting yours, I didn't know about the health upgrade under the first save room, now I'm at 536 rooms, still 58% though.
