The real crime committed by the 3DS version is in the animation, not the lighting. You can even see it in this image - Ganon's pose is much stronger on N64 than on 3DS, and no, it's not just a different frame of the animation. The way he pushes his chest forward while flexing his arms and roaring on N64 portrays him as a crazed wild animal, while on 3DS he just kinda stands there with his arms stretched out. Most people can't consciously tell the difference, but your brains caught it. And the whole game is full of shit like that.
