SERIOUS SAM THIRD ENCOUNTER IS REALhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLaTMaSX4ZE
>>750081903On one hand>Toon style>Egypt>Sequel to TSEon another>Unreal Enginedoubt it'll be worse than 4, but still
>>750081903WHY IS IT CALLED SERIOUS SAM IF THE GAME IS NOT SERIOUS???????
>>750081903>third encounterSo is this their way of admitting SS 2-4 were fucking mistakes? I'll buy it on a sale
>>750081903mirin'
>>750082274Is it really toon? It's a bit stylized, but not too much from the teaser. The original TFE and TSE aimed for a realistic artstyle more or less with some comedy and levity sprinkled in, although the series did get all kinds of more exaggerated as it went on. Even BFE for all its grittness is very in your face how much of a silly cartoony action movie it is. It seemed like they actually cared about the world building and stuff more seriously during TFE/TSE, but I might be projecting a tad. I don't know I just think the premise was pretty cool.
>>750082274>UEFuck, I forgot about that. This shit is going to be unplayable if a massive horde of monsters shows up onscreen.
>made by the alaska sam guysalright i'll buy it
>>750082274Where the fuck are you getting egypt from?
Wasn't there originally supposed to be three encounters? The early Sam build was supposedely a fuckhuge game they shrunk and then wanted to split into three but ended up cutting a lot of fat.
>>750081903>>750082493Looks AI generated lmfao I hope they are not using UE5 for Sam
>>750082757looks pretty egypt to me
Grim
>>750081903Boli me kurcina, all their games are shit past 2
>>750083085Oh shit I only saw the teaserwhy fucking egypt AGAIN???
>>750082274i just thank god its not all toon style like serious sam 2, it seems a bit mixed
>>750083134Siberian Mayhem is good (because it's not made by nu-Croteam)
>>750083085First they went with too much into realism and now their doing this, what is their problem.
>>750082698real? if so hell yeah, at least they know how to make a good ss game
>>750082274>>Unreal EngineThe proposed minimum requirements look way too low for an Unreal game. The Steam page also says Siberian Mayhem devs are working on it.
>>7500819034's expac is fine but the rest has been direI don't see them making a comeback
>24 years after The Second Encounter, the story finally moves forward.>24 yearsnono that can't be rightnothatnono
I am fine with them mixing cartoonishness of 2 with the realism of 1, but I still don't like the screenshots on the Steam page. The gnaars are looking weird, like it's almost lowpoly, too little detail
>>750082274>Unreal engineCould be 4 for all we know, which is at least somewhat serviceable.
>good news is goodthank god
>>750081903>New Sam>Actually being made by Croteam and not just wearing the property>After they hired the guys who made Siberian MayhemCautiously excited, only real fear is the engine they're using now after Croteam went to UE for Talos Principle 2.I liked 4's beats when it was trying to be more serious and not trying and failing to be funny with catchprases.
>>750083331Could be the alien world where egypt got the pyramids from for all we know>>750083843They look like an upscale of the TFE/SE ones and i sort of respect that. I wonder if the flyers will be back
ok so its no egypt, its "alien planet that happens to look like egypt", i saw some jungle levels too in the screenshots too
>Game: The First One>Game: The Second One>Game: The Next One (console exclusive)>Game 2>Game 3>Game 4>Game: The Third One
>>750084006>Actually being made by CroteamSo were 3 and 4 and 4 was a fucking disaster of a game
>>750081903I have to get this off my chestIm croatian and I find this game fucking boring its just a doom clone number #500
>>750084115>Game 3 (Actually -1)>Game 4 (Actually -2)FTFY
>>750084197Better than fucking Shatterverse.Low bar, I know
>>750084057Must be Sirius right? where the beheaded soldiers came from
>>750084258You've never played Doom. Doom is much more fun.TFE/TSE had some very nice locales and secrets at times, and it was fun exploring and soaking it in, but the core gameplay is usually boring and repetitive and you also move very slowly compared to similar games. And the later games didn't even have that.I still really like the vibes and what it seems they were trying to do with TFE/TSE and Siberian Mayhem is a neat game as well, so I am cautiously optimisitc for TTE.
>>750084006These are the same minimum requirements as SS4. Given that they picked up the Timelock guys, it probably still is in Serious Engine.
>>750081903We got two serious sam games in five years while it took 13 years for us to get a sequel to serious sam 3.
>>750084258Why do thirdies think they automatically need to defend/like something just because it's tied to their country/people? Tribalism? Low iq?
Reminder that according to Shatterverse, this is what Mental looks like.

>>750084712H-HOW?
>>750082274Remember when Unreal was optimized for shooters and not in a contest with unity for being the shoveware queen?Hopefully these devs remember: it's a shame to say, but UE has more mainline support than the idTech forks, especially after this year.
>>750081903>Third encounterIf it doesn't run on the tweaked Serious Engine and on at least the XP machine, then no buy. A bit too late folks.

>>750082274>Unreal engineDon't they have their own engine? What the fuck?!

>>750084664Its a family clan mindset. The Church abolished this kind of thinking in the middle ages in Europe.
>>750085886>UE is already confirmedWhere?

>>750082274>>750083515>>750083879These listed minimum specs are identical to those on SS4 store page, so it has to be on Serious Engine 4 or an insanely wild coincidence unless this does changes mid development.Well fuck that I'll take it any day over UE5 if Talos 2 and Shitterverse is anything to go by

Serious Sam was never good. It’s largely considered a joke in the FPS community compared to giants like Quake.
>>750087003Oh yeah I forgot about the dub, sounded pretty good too>>750086959Dunno about that. Granted my only experience with slav games are the big names like Metro and Stalker but those are pretty bleak and not bright and fun like Sam

>>750088567hopefully he does die soon
Given croteam have spent 20 years making games but only two of them are good I remain sceptical about how good this will be.
>>750083843>>750083085Looks like a Lol FPSI really don't like the modern video game cartoon aesthetics.I prefer SS2
>>750084258Being able to render/stream fuck ton of polygons at once without the engine-pc killing itself is great but Serious Sam has always been the worst showcase of what the Serious Engine could do.Croteam should've always left Serious Sam in the dust with TFE, TSE at best if you're feeling generous and made literally anything else with it. Even making an open would have been a better use for the engine.
>>750088609I hate this Bruce Timm Bruce copied by drunk Croats design of Sam
But will it have 16 player co-op?
>>750081903Interesting.I hope they get it right this time.Croteam made enough mistakes with SS3 and SS4 to have learned their lesson. Those games can still be good when things work, which just goes to show how powerful the formula is.I hope they realize that all they need to do is recreate the classic SS with more interesting and epic battles... and that's it.
>ready to face MentalFucking faggots treating Mental as a "break glass in case of emergency" thing
>>750087580The engine guy going away from the studio really did fucked up the rest of the team.Looks like he was the only one who knew how to do shit arround.I think he managed to be in SSHD 1 and 2 and left mid SS3

>>750089291Yeah, it's literally the ending to TSE.
>>750089305Sir, your SS4?
>>750089668That was made in the before times.
>>750089851Before what? It came out like 6 years ago.
>>750084258originally it was just a doom knockoff with sprites, when they reworked it it became it's own thing huge scale maps, huge amount of 3d enemies no other 3D shooters could match it
>>750089668I have it here but it's like 60gbs
>>750087580I still haven't played 4
>>7500902324 is okay as a movie game, but it's not very boring and that gets annoying because the game is very, VERY hard. It's one of those "easy is too easy," and "hard is too hard" games but the game is genuinely interesting to play and fuck around in, so you end up paralyzed by choice a lot of the time.

>>750091317MR WHEDON DOES IT AGAIN
Isn't Mental supposed to be like an Old God or something? Also why do they even call him Mental when he's like The Infinite One or whatever
I remember playing serious sam 2 and the ice planet had a arena that cycled trough the same 5 enemies over and over, also in the chinese levels you only get a shotgun and thats it. What the fuck were they thinking
>UE5>Focus S radio chatter>quirky chungus npcs everywhere, including stronk and powerfvl womyn>easy as dogshit gameplay cuz they can't afford to miss out on appealing to modern goymers and flop
are ss4 and siberian mayhem actually good?
>>750084678nudogshit, I hope they have some cool old design laying around that they can use
>>750091710Mayhem? Pretty good. SS4? Fuck no.
>>750091462Mental is whatever the fuck croteam want it to be to justify hordes of whatever the fuck attacking earth.
Are you serious?
SS3 (real) should have a super bige level where every enemy is an ugh-zan with some cute mini ugh zans (still very big) sprinkled in. the boss is a super huge ughzan that reaches the stratosphere
>>750091712what's wrong with depicting a greek good (of wine) as a faggot?
>>750091924As a matter of fact I am.

I've heard Onirism is Serious Sam but you play as a loli, is that actually the case or are people just bullshitting?
I never finished the BFE DLC, is it worth it?
>>750081903It reminds me of the xbox version, which is a tfe+tse twofer and one of my favorite games on the console. Slightly optimistic, I don't feel disgust about it like I did for 3 and 4.
>Mental is still Sam's fatherJust imagine the shitstorm
>>750091712This image completely ignores that the corporate oversight today would push it even further because faggotry is hip and trendy, when 30 years ago everyone could torch your studio house down for any mention of it and therefore it was mandated to be removed. In other words - Society at large is to blame.
>>750092201Sounds kino to me but doesn't make sense unless it explains that Sam is also some manner of eldritch being retconning the reasons for him being unstoppable
>>750092380The point is that shit is gay even without corporate oversight, it's gotten that bad
>Inb4 they cuck us out of defeating mental again
>>750084678I mean I did always figure he was just going to be A Guy. I sort of pictured something closer to Ming the Merciless
I used to imagine Mental as an eye, I don't know why. Like a black hole in space, but instead of a hole, it's an eye in thge center.
I pretty much only play boomer shooters nowThis is excellent news
>>750082958I thought the maniac that actually built serious engine left a while agoAnd thats why they switched to ue.
>>750092645why would they defeat Mental. They can't think of any new antagonists
>>750091681Far as lore goes Sam is the last human alive.Unless they want to go in the SS2 direction with NETRISCA and ayy bitches and stuff, there's not gonna be a radio. Or anyone else. The first and second encounters are literally just Sam making jokes and talking to himself, not even to that supercomputer girl in his head. And I hope they're gonna continue with that.
>>750093150>Defeat mental>enter>Physical>Serious Sam 5 is couch co-op with sam+mental defeating physical

>>750093304>defeat physical>next antagonist is Sexual>Sam has to channel his inner Austin Powers
>>750091681It is funny thinking whenever Sam isn't by himself the dialogue plummets.
>>750086741Sam is slavcore, it was a must play game in every slav household in the early 00s
When I was four, my dad played Sam, and I'd sit with him at the computer every evening and just watch. When he was at work, I'd try playing myself. Once, I even accidentally overwrote my dad's save, without even realizing it, and he was so mad afterwardOh, Dad, may you rest in peace, I'll replay it as many times as I can. For both of us

>>750094890holy shit they've even got beheaded kamikazes as little girls holding bombs
>>750087580Your info is outdated. He works at Roblox now.
>>750092121It's bullshit. Onirism is awful. There’s only one part that’s like a tribute to Serious Sam, but most of the time it’s an attempt to create a platformer and action game, but it totally fails, because the level design is awful, the enemies are awful, the weapons are awful... everything in that game is bad.The action has nothing to do with Serious Sam except for one part.
>>750091317I don't like when Sam uses the big swear words
>>750094960that's a years old version you can hold 9 guns at a time now and the damage numbers kinda make sense because you can get critical hits/headshots and there are like 200 guns in the game so you can figure out the damage of eachyeah bionicle kleers, those guys that thrown green fireballs you have to shoot, mechanoid axolotyl things, pumpkin chainsaw guys etc
>>750085895Can't cite any sources, but I asked about this when Talos 2 came out on UE5Apparently their engine guy left a while ago, whatever slavic autist that let them get 300fps with good fidelity and crazy draw distance can't keep propping them upTalos 2 looks maybe 20% better than Talos 1 and runs 400% worse
>>750096284iirc he works for roblox now
>>750090232i stopped like 5 hours in, then i played syberiam mayhem and its was cool

wasn't CROTEAM famous for their alien technology game engine that ran SS on potatos while looking amazing? and now they are using UE5? truly the worst timeline
>Alen Ladavac was Croteam's main engine developer and co-founder who created the proprietary Serious Engine. He left the studio in October 2019 to join Google Stadia. Croteam later retired the Serious Engine and shifted to Unreal Engine 5.literally 1 guys leave and kills a legendary studio
>>750096542but how am I supposed to look up carol's skirt in first person?
>>750081903So after two prequels in a row, going backwards, and an expansion taking place in the middle of the second prequel, they're doing a sequel to TSE. Why are they so afraid to continue the story?
>>750096649Yes. When Serious Sam was released in 2001, many people in the media (back then, there were still some people who understood software, computers, and technology working in game journalism, before it became purely ideological) said that it was the first time since FPS engines had transitioned to 3D that a game had been able to display large numbers of monsters on screen, as was more common in older 2D games. This made a lot of people optimistic. Then the team's programming wizard left the company, and they were no longer able to produce or maintain the engines.
>>750096789well clearly you did not play the game, first person only works when you aim
>>750095703>damage numbers kinda make sense because you can get critical hits/headshotsI also got those in many other games without any gay number or a bar, just the game actually reflecting on it by the enemy dying quicker.
>>750096542I hate how the game starts dragging on and on in the noir levels. It gets so repetive. Well the game itself is pretty repetive but they do the changes of scenery really well for the first half. You could say the same for the snow levels but I love all snow levels in every single game so I don't mind that.
>>750096752the time and cost of R&D a propriety engine just isn't worth it when UE can do the same thing if used correctlysame thing happened with flying wild hog
>>750096937>Why are they so afraid to continue the story?Because that's exactly what they are doing. The description even paints it as the actual finale.>B-but 2Non canon clownfest and belongs in the garbage.
>>750097096the huge ice sea level was when it dawned on me that the game was kino, i really like it

>>750097146>if used correctly

>>750097230The Glacier level is the best. The boat sailing level is a bit sloppy since dying in it is awful and it's really easy to die if you stop thinking and the goddamn boat still doesn't have a crosshair.
Was Serious Sam 1 considered toony for its time or was it considered that retroactively when Serious Sam 3 came out?I do not mind the style of TTE at all but overall I'm seeing so much positivity for it that it really does feel like TFE and TSE were considered cartoonish.

hey you, the person reading thisInstall SS Fusion 2017Play Seriously Retro: Karnak 1996
>>750098240I don't know or care what the general consensus is, TFE and TSE are some of the most beautiful games ever made and graphics should never have 'progressed' any farther. Also don't play the demasters
Why are we still pretending that the best game in the series (5/10 in real games) aka ss2 doesn't exist?
>>750098345fusion version of 3 is actually good
>>750098240There's no real general consensus because it keeps changing. The original was considered "realistic", then toony during the xbox era, then super gritty for bfe, then I dont know what the fuck for ss4.
They should keep developing Serious Duke 3D.Fuck Randy and Take2 btw
>>750098372>classic>classic revolution>HD>fusionerr so which version do I play if I want to play through them all now?
Play a better game
It's funny how Serious Sam 1 has among the most unrestricted levels in any FPS and you can very easily go out of bounds if you want, whereas Serious Sam 2 is the very opposite and you cannot go anywhere without hitting an invisible wall. Like in this screenshot I took, there is literally an invisible wall in front of me
>>750099761definitely fusion > hd at least
Serious Sam should not have reloadingThere is no challenge, risk ,or anything that comes by adding reloading in serious sam. You are still circling around enemies except that the game is longer because of the added reload.
>>750099761Not the guy you are responding to but Classics Revolution is the best way to play FE and SE, it contains both games and it runs on an updated version of the original engine so (unlike the HD remakes) it has features like directional gravity, which is used in a few rooms.
>>750099852what about that Korean(?) game where you play as a husband with his wife on his back. Gimmick was that your wife reloaded weapons for you upon swap.
>>750099761Classic TFE and TSE. Mouse settings might not be to your liking though, at least I find them extremely sensitive.SS2, but I would turn off dual wielding.Fusion BFE (BFE Extended Mod if you want a heavier challenge. Not much you can do for SS4 though, but Siberian Mayhem is ok.
>>750099958Feels really wrong having reloading in weapons other than the pistol and double barrel shotgun
>I HOPE YOU GUYS HAVE PHONES
>>750100173pistols have infinite ammo so there's the "balance" factorreload animation of a double barrel shotgun is part of the romance of it that i'll grudgingly accept.
>Serious Sam with UE5 blur on everything>Uses some weird blend of SS HD & SS2 styleHard pass.
>>750097270Anon, don’t listen to that guy. These assholes have been shilling that piece of shit called Onirism for years here on 4chan.The game has nothing to do with Serious Sam. It's more like those 3D plarform games (Hat in Time, Mario, etc.). It’s actually a pretty bad game, even if you like Hat in Time, Mario Odyssey, etc.People who ended up buying it because they like Serious Sam are all going to regret it bitterly when they find out it’s a shitty-ass platformer/action game.

>>750101003>Revolution is full of bugs and was abandoned before most were ironed out.I wouldn't have recommended it before Croteam stepped in to finish it off. It's essentially the same as the classic versions so you can't really go wrong either way, I just feel like its a bit more convenient since it contains both games and runs without issue on modern systems.

As tedious as it was at times, plus the revolving door hassle of arranging server hosts, I miss Serious Saturdays.

>>750101324>I wouldn't have recommended it before Croteam stepped in to finish it off. They "finished it off" by finishing up that extra campaign when the original Revolution devs seemingly couldn't, but there's still numerous bugs left in that particular version of TFE/TSE.Again, the OG games with the Classics Patch is the way to go unless you're incapable of dragging and dropping a file into an install directory.

>>750086923It already has. I need to see if I can wrangle my friends into playing MP too.
>>750102893>How exactly should I get into the series?Serious Sam Classic First Encounter and Second Encounter respectively. >>750102893This >>750103428 is correct. Also you should go in knowing that the readme is a bit misleading when it comes to difficulty. I think normal is too easy even if you haven't played SS before. Also note that your movement (mostly backing up while shooting or dodging Kleer lunges) is extremely important.
>>750087280Reminds me that I have this saved from like 15 years ago or something
>>750086852Sam 3 to me is in the same situation as Doom 3 for me: mediocre in flat but asesome as hell in VR to the point where it feels like some of those shitty sections were made with it in mind despite coming out years earlier.Like those awful underground parts with their inane jumping and switch "puzzles" suddenly become atmospheric as fuck and the slower pace and speed along with the rather flat terrain and lack of swimming in the main campaign feels like as if it was done due to the player's own physical limitations.
>>750103987Same. I wish they had brought the DLC to VR though. It's extra annoying as mods rely on it.
>>750104093Sucks that even Fusion can't play the DLC in VR. Wonder what technical reason prevented it other than someone just needs to author changes to the cutscenes.
>>750103428>>750103731The Classic version of Second Encounter too I presume?
>>750103987The indoor sections of Serious Sam 3 can be fucked, I remember a lot of them being way too hard and sometimes cheap to the point of feeling lazy and blooper-ish. Though I think that's part of the difficulty in the game. It's not a hard game because the enemies are tough, it's hard because the stages are designed very well. The narrow streets, dense basements, and flooded pyramids make it much more dynamic: even funneling enemies into canyons and ravines is hard because you have to know how to do it, making the stage design your friend is part of the experience. It's unlike the other games where you essentially have to fight everything all at once and the stages are just nice, picturesque set-pieces that do nothing.
>>750103809I just played TFE/TSE again, and it's nuts how good SE3 looks, especially for something from the 2010's, this workshop set is also nicehttps://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1577945842

>>750081903I actually wouldn't have minded if they continued off of the ending of SS2.
Are there any unique serious sam 2 enemies besides that weird ball thing and the kleer bestiary getting expanded?I really can't remember shit from that game being unique since so much of it is just reskinned enemies.
Playing SS in VR feels like cheating w/ the dual wield system they gave them to offset being slower at aiming.

>>750105131Off the top of my head without looking anything up. The enemy vehicles I guess? A lot of the enemies felt like weird variants on kamikazes, kleer, and werebulls. Which could work for variety sake I guess but replacing the kamikazes with clowns, kleer with kungfu men, and werebulls with football orcs. Felt like change for the sake of change and the clowns can fuck off entirely for being quieter kamikazes with more health, on top of the now removed 1.25 health multiplier on Serious difficulty.

Siberian Mayhem guys are supposedly working on it so I have faith in the project. Also those listed minimum requirements are way too low to be UE5. Serious Engine is most likely being used.I hope it's like 2 but with the gameplay of other ones, and a difficulty that doesn't fuck with enemy health. I am hoping we get to see Siriusopolis again because that is probably their best original creation.

>>750125598>>750125707...or it could be that they signed a contract with Sam VA to use his likeness with an AI model to make all these full dubs, who knowswell maybe it's to early to speculate, hope they clear everything up soon
>>750125496>SAMMUUUUUU
>>750082274It's expensive to build your own engine here in Croatia. pls understand.

>>750085017I hope Tim uses Claude to vibecode/fix everything before version 6 drops. their store app now loads in under 5 seconds, and it used to take a minute or more, an impressive speed up.
>>750125957why the fuck does this even exist? There is no way this wasn't forced in some way
>>750126528it's a spinoff and it's not even bad
>>750126528It has same energy as that Painkiller reboot, both are roguelites too.
>PLEASE NOTE: Serious Sam: The Third Encounter is currently in early development. It means release no sooner than 2028, right?
>>750125957Made by Dead by Deadlight studio by the way.
>>750125957>make nigg MC>Codename is "Orphan Sam"Ironically, I lack the racism to make this shit up.
>>750100736obsessed

>>750082274their Unreal engine games run wellit's not the engine, it's how you use it
>>750087339And believe it or not: they didn't even go 100% full retard with the final game and the designs could've been MUCH worse.
>>750122675DO NOT REDEEEEEM
>>750127415a lot of these look like something you would draw in your notebook at school while bored out of your mind
>>750126709I feel like the flop of Shatterverse has only accelerated this announcement, Croteam might not be doing so good

HE'S GOING TO ISRAEL???
Do ya really trust croteam to deliver after their most recent works?
>>7501257944 Sam grew on me after seeing him in not 4's rendering and animations but boxart TSE is my favorite.
>>750132901>Do ya really trust croteam to deliver after their most recent works? No but then again what is there to look forward to when it comes to new vidya? They don't make games like this anymore, you either stay cautiously optimistic or just choose to live under the rock and not care for anything new anymore.
>>750124961Been that way for years now, /v/'s a lost cause that ate all the stupid shit corpos are shovelling so they can sell you a new monitor and a bunch of expensive but pointless upgrades>muh 4k 120hz raytracing
>>750133002Boxart TSE looks like Ed O'Neill.
>>750125794Why does the 2nd one look so much like some tv show character that I can't quite put my finger on?
>>750125013amen
>>750133724Would
>>750081903I'm going to be cautiously excited. Does Croteam even have it in them recreate something as soulful as the second encounter?
>>750132901>>750134846As long as the Siberian Mayhem guys can tard wrangle the nudevs into making a classic Sam game we might get something worthwhile
>>750083085What's so bad about this?
>>750112937>75lol, fortnite is 150, this is going to be 200 minimum.
>>750137970>this is going to be 200 minimum
>>750127874Thanks, doc!
>>750133002TSE box art looks like a character from classic mortal kombat.
>>750082698Hell yeah
>>750083843According to steam the planets may have different art styles.Dont know if thats a good thing
>>750139430It might be cool. Gives them different feels and we go from biome to biome like in SS2 with stuff like winter villages
Serious Sam 2 sucks
>>750132650no. you'll see old cope posts from those shills calling that game a "ratchet & clank" clone originally. they will grasp at any straw to get into any community just to spread their loli porn.
>>750142402>grasp at any straw to get into any community just to spread their loli porn.based ngl
>>750139908yeah, I tried really hard to like it but it never felt good. It's a shame because I think the graphics are pretty good.
>>750142552it would if they didn't kill other loli threads with their ugly goblin
>its realholy shitthose store pics are kinda ass though
>>750143083Would be nice to actually see the game in motion, unless everything they shown so far are just literally mockups of what a scene in game could look like
>>750143284if this game is good could duke come back? would that even be a good idea?
>>750143430Who owns Duke's IP?And what would he make Duke do if he decides to revive him?Spoilers, it's really not a good idea, anon.
>>750143576>2k owns dukeYeah...
>>750143430I don't think so, sorry Anon but Duke is pretty much buried deep in a coffin at this point.
>>750143748it's probably for the best, the nu-gaming scene is too gangraped for duke
Only the GameCube Serious Sam was ever good
>>750143664That sound badass to me.
I love it when people say Serious Sam is just a Doom clone because it means they never played the games.
>>750109727>we need more cookie cutter nostalgia to keep those fags at new blood in business I'm Civvie11 and I approve this message
>>750144207>nu/v/ >not playing video gamesWhat a shockerI miss serious Saturdays, let's do it again when this comes out. I wonder how many of us still remain
>>750144376Serious Saturdays still goes on, but they barely play Sam anymore. It's usually other games.
>>750144493WowMaybe I'm thinking of an even older group thenLet me try digging. Way way back
everyone remembers the kamikazes but no one remembers the kleers were even more terrifying Clip clop clip clop
>>750146684For me it's the >MMMOOOOOOO>*thunderous THUMPTHUMPTHUMPTHUMP*
>>750144906Damn 2011... I could have swore I played more though. Maybe it was a different version? Such good times in the past cooping with /v/ on such ridiculously big maps like Pyramid and shitRemember this?https://youtu.be/9dHGkoXl8-w
>>750114164I sure don't miss achievement hunting during the era of "8hrs for 100%ing single-player, 200+ hours for multiplayer" playtime balancing.
>>750147619Serious Saturdays used Fusion or Revolution the times I went with them for FE/SE.
>>750144376>when this comes outAnon, this one is early in development, it won't come out anytime soon.We better have an SS party /v/an just because.
>>750149587I'll be down for it
>>750082485SS2 was great, nothing wrong with it as a sequel.
>>750082649>massive horde of monsters shows up onscreenthis is one of the few things UE shouldn't have a problem with. it's the fucking traversal stutters and all the other shit.
>>750146684Fun fact! The leaping sound that's being used for the Kleers is the same as in Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel," just slightly modified.https://youtu.be/HzZ_urpj4As?t=66
>>750110635>TIME TO SUCK ASS AND CHEW CUM!
>>750081903Are people still coping about Serious Sam 2 not being by far the only competent serious sam game, or at they still filtered by it having actual colors and fun gameplay.
>>750083085I honestly feel like this is just Croteam making the siberian poorfags make a serious same game in the mold of the classics to get a cash influx rather than this being an actual full on sequel advancing the plot.
>Serious Sam Xbox>Serious Sam 2>TFE>TSE>Next Encounter>Siberian Mayhem>TFEHD and TSEHD>Serious Sam 3any order ranking is indicative of gay
>>750152197Yes anon, you are very gay.
>>750151885I've always liked it. The environment/level variety is great. I hope that The Third Encounter is able to match that with it being in space again.
>>750152197>ranking 2 above anything
>>7501525672 is the only time croteam tried to actually make something good after the first two encounters.Serious Sam 3 was a garbage made up of reused modern military assets, some of the most awful dialogue in a video game ever, Sam being treated like a fucking navy seal for some reason, and pathetic gameplay. Its geniunenly one of the worst games ever made.Serious Sam 4 is equally pathetic if just a bit more engaging gameplay wise.
>>750151885OG SS2 is just very fucking slow, and the game was already long enough as it is. The sprint changes and other recent updates vastly improves that at the least to feel more like the other Sams' pacing.
24 years of garbage to parody
TFE and TSE HD give me insane motion sickness for some reason, the only other game that fucks me up as badly is Turok.
>>750152197TSE>SM>TFE>3=2>4
Didn't a large chunk of the original devs leave Croteam? I'm not having my hopes up
>>750126797>>750132797Shut up, you pieces of shit. Go market your shitty game somewhere else.
>>750153740obsessed
>>750153634Which is why they hired the Ruskeys who bodied them by making a game better than SS4 using their own tech.
>>750150979lmaoWow
Remember, don't take Onirism's shills seriously. Like this transvestite here:>>750153770I only created a Steam account back then because I wanted to play Serious Sam 3. I've put over 1,000 hours into this series.I played Onirism too. It's a piece of shit, a bad version of platformers like Hat in Time (which is already mediocre, by the way). The losers who keep helping Chocololi spread this garbage he made with French taxpayer money have no commitment to anything other than making their shitty game sell. They're literally marketers with no understanding of video games who are now taking advantage of the fact that Chocololi (who has no clue about game design too) paid tribute to Serious Sam inside his piece of shit game, to try to shill it for serious sam plauersDon't play Onirism. Don't even pirate the game, because the time spent pirating and trying it out is better spent just standing around doing nothing. There's a reason why the mods had to start banning threads about that game, and there's a reason why the cockroaches and rats show up in every thread (like the Serious Sam ones) to try to sell their junk. These guys are retarded cultists.
>>750154454>Remember, don't take Onirism's shills seriously>followed by wall of textLOL LMAO even
Kleers are the worst enemy ever put into a video game so I can only hope this fails.
>>750155404They are really well designed enemies similar to Revenants in Doom 2.Curious how all the good enemies in video games are always skeletons.
>>750155512>Here comes a wall of Sam-seeking cruise missiles >Congratulations, you've dodged some of them>That leaves 14 now behind you along with 36 more in front of you, focus on dodging both before one of them rams its entire body up your ass At least you can keep Revenants in front of you consistently.
>>750154454obsessed
>>750155936>He didn't develop a sense to dodge kleers behind himWhat a casual
>>750155404Kleers are only bad if you pick up that 1 hp health tablet
>>750155936yeah don't talk to me about the quality of kleers until you've mastered what >>750155997 said
>>750155936unironically skill issue
