Only Allah knows. They released the map maker as a demo

What's stopping you from making what you want anyway just to test your skills and find your own personal limits? Why does the existence of AI need to be a demotivator?

You can make whatever you want. Don't let your imagination or your fear of the AI slop machine deter you from turning the key in your ear and spinning up the crankshaft of your mind.

the problem with rpgmaker is its still not user friendly enough. if you want to do anything you basically have to learn ruby

Then use the older versions where all you get is the event editor.

Because I'm testing objects on the Mode7 overworld. Once the overworld chipsets are being replaced with proper mode7 chipsets, there wont be a flat castle on the floor anymore.

New thing good, old thing bad.

MV3D is decent but it has a lot of limitations.

no, there is no western viprpg scene
>>
>>750113023
How are the 3D objects created in U2U? Do we have to make it with a separate program, then import it?
>>
>>750120505
Like what? Only thing so far that make U2U better is having a map creator
>>
I didn't really like the editor. Unlike other RPG Makers, it's really unpleasant to use.
I don't know why they don't make something like Minecraft where you just pick a block and click. It would be so simple… There are several aspects of placing the objetcs now that aren't intuitive, and it feels more like, "Just deal with this nad interface", rather than something truly easy like you'd expect from RPG Maker.
The final result is also pretty ugly because the original RPG Maker assets just don't match the lighting, shadow, fog, etc., effects that the engine offers. This RPG Maker really should have come with its own RTP…
But overall, I think it’s an acceptable tool. We'll have to see how the object editor works. There are some 3D objects like beds, bookshelves, etc., and for now your only option is to use the editor's presets. Apparently, there will be a tool to edit these objects as well in the final version.
In any case, I'm curious to see the final result. I believe it will be possible to make some pretty interesting games for those who put in the effort.

>ruby
They haven't used Ruby in ages.
The most recent ones use JavaScript, and U2U will use LuaU (the same version of Lua that Roblox uses).
But anyway, you have some flexibility through the editor "events" and can do some more or less advanced things. It's just kind of tedious and inefficient.
Also, these days you can just ask ChatGPT and it'll make a plugin for you.

>>750115493
how the fuck you make smooth camera with rpg maker tile based camera.
>>
>>750121982
The map is tile based not the camera.
>>
>>750113023
Can you do Parasite Eve or Wasteland 2/3 combat in that engine?
>>
>>750122563
Yes, but only if you're Japanese apparently.
>>
>>750122563
In theory, yes, because you can call JavaScript functions (in previous versions of RPG Maker) or LuaU functions (in RPG Maker U2U) whenever you want.
However, these features are intended to serve as "support" for simple functions, for those who want to slightly expand the editor's capabilities. For example, RPG Maker MV, for some reason, only allows you to trigger events based on a variable with the condition >= that variable. If you happen to want the event to trigger when the variable is == 3, or another event when it is == 4, this isn't possible unless you write a simple JavaScript function for that purpose.
However, nothing prevents you from using JavaScript for more advanced tasks, such as building the entire foundation of the gameplay. The only problem is that, since this isn't the intended use, doing so isn't really ideal, and working on your game can start to get REALLY annoying.

I hate what this place has become, just a retirement home full of complacent old people complaining about state of the world.
2006 Anonymous would have taken one look at AI and thought to itself ''how can I unlock the internet with this novel new power I gained''
>>
>>750117260
I think mode7 is ugly as shit, but its cool that you can replicate it like that.
