EO3 id a cursed game to me. I played EO1 and loved it, played EO2 and adored it, played EO3 and restarted around 50 playthroughs before reaching an ending, then moved on to EOIV which I liked it. I don't know how people can call EO3 their favorite Etrian game, I'm unable to play it in a way that makes me feel satisfied just like the other games did. The NG+ is poorly implemented and discourages rising a party from zero. It's such a fucking shame, it's the Etrian game I've poured the most hours into but it's all been for naught.

The people that don't like subclassing are metafags, 99% of the time that cannot build a party without looking up what's "optimal". Yeah, 3 does have the issue of not spreading damage passives around enough so gladiator/zodiac usually become the best options for raw damage output but there's still plenty of interesting combinations that you can make in the game. I still enjoyed V's system as well though, I just think sublassing is better. Both are far better than grimoieres however.
