I'm starting to think shmups aren't for me. The most fun part of them is routing and making incremental improvements. But the actual clear attempts are cancer because if you fail it just feels like the run was a waste of time. And it's really easy to tilt and lose all momentum

I did a run the other day where I lost all my extends to the stupid piece of shit wireframe boss and missed that long yellow chain on that boss mid stage 2. But I made up for it by chaining the yellow enemies through the first boss of Stage 5. I would've gotten the clear if I wasn't impatient on one of the Xiga patterns. Point being, there's always hope.
