It's fine. There are better Batman games but LEGO Batman does well enough with the bamhamming. No opinion yet on the mayhem mode, but it's an interesting mixup from the simon says countering.

>>750144909It's shockingly high production value and the writing is good but it's a children's game.It's basically runs on rails even at max difficulty you just hit two buttons on repeat.If youre under 18 or a reddit or you might enjoy it.Otherwise unless you are playing with your kids it will be too vanilla and boring.Source: bought and played it . Gave it 3 hours of my time before giving up.

It feels like a LEGO game where they were starting to get some things better, the combat is better than before. The problem is that LEGO games are what, 40 years old now and the combat them was always so bad, so basic, this one is slightly better and people are taking that as a huge win. Those games need to start being better rather than just being a braindead stud collectionThis issue is made worse by the fact those games have no original story at all, you don't get credit for doing a LEGO-sanitized version of Batman parents being shot, so everything just gets funneled into the gameplay and it is always shallow and lacking. If you look at Arkham games, one of the thing that made the original stand out was that it was no tie-in, it was an original story. LEGO games always being a tie-in of some sort always hurts them, I suppose that's a way to cut corners, just copy the story from movies and paste into your game but that's laziness.
