Motherfucking Gran Turismo Sport running NATIVELY on my goddamn bitch ass PC! How fucking cool is that?! /v/ros, this is a revolution. The AI/vie-coding revolution!
>>
Sorry chud, you're not allowed to have fun like that, "Alice" said so.
>>
it's kinda unreal seeing pclards get hyped up about 10+ year old releases
literally everyone moved on, if you weren't a no-vidya broke bum loser you would have played those games at launch when they were new and relevant (which is the only time when games actually matter)
it's so bizzarre seeing someone play bloodborne with a 10 year lag and go like "here's what I learned from it", when people are already eagerly waiting for the next gen souls title to drop lmao
I guess you just go used to being an out of touch autistic retard who gets all hyped up at used goods or something

I see a lot of projection coming out of this one. It's not about playing the games for the first time, we all did. It's the fact that everything runs natively on your PC with other graphical updates like upscaling, DLSS, Raytracing and Pathtracing in some games (see P.T. PC Port). The most impressive recomp to me so far is Killzone Shadow Fall. In just two days the game came from being kind of playable to fully playable with everything. It's so out of this world, that's what's impressive about this whole shtick.

OP here, my Steam Library is getting pretty zesty so far ngl.
>>
>>750148521
It's completely unplayable. The shader compiler is single threaded and takes MINUTES per car, and when you go to start a race you have to wait 10+ minutes for shaders to compile in the menu, but it doesn't do LOD0 for cars during that, so then in the race you'll get multiple 20-30 second pauses - per car - every time you get near a new car. Once you eventually compile all the shaders for a race, which takes like 15 minutes, then it runs fine at ~45-60fps, but you basically have to go through that for every new race.

What toaster are you running? Also, yes the recomp is not perfect for now, but think about it: it's a work in progress project that gets updated on the daily. Find the preleases, the latest one fixed a bunch of shit. I'm just glad it's there in some form.

did venus vacation got a recomp? Last time I've checked both switch and PS4 versions had graphical glitches and low fps on emulators.
>>
>>750152897
Retroachivements says hi, countless rom hacks that people mainly play on emulators say hi.
>>
>>750152939
The Xbox version you mean? You can find it here https://github.com/NoRain211/doaxbv-re.

I use this website and check on the daily for new shit. I'm going to try Infamous (PS3) in a few minutes. https://thegamingemporium.com/categories/decompilations-recompilations/

Xrevive is an interesting project. Wonder how it will evolve but for now Xemu can offer a better experience (depending on the game) and Ninja Gaiden Recomp is an absolute beast, I can't see Xrevive matching it any soon.
>>
>>750153096
Oh, I thought it was doax3 kek. Thanks for the website though, since I had to check fucking reddit to find something new I'm interested in. Someone posted progress on Xtreme 2 today (although still WIP) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhXCnVMZbIg
>>
>>750153338
The recomps for Black and Double Agent take a huge shit on Xemu.

How far along is it?

Been playing the fuck out of the Forza Horizon 2 and Midnight Club 3 recomps and they're fantastic.

Playable, even though loadings are very present. You can see shaders to compile with pop ups, but like one anon said Brand Central and loading cars you haven't seen is fucked up, dunno why. I have a bunch of other vids, but fuck I can't get this webm or mp4 shit to look good with the 4 MB limit on /v/
>>
>>750153962
>Double Agent
Man the Double Agent recomp is so fucking good. It's literally better than a native port would or could have ever been. Performance is fantastic as are all the graphical options.

Peak "it just werks" and for a much needed game.

The Mercenaries recomp is also fantastic and way better than Xemu. Hoping we get a Ghost Recon 2 and then SOCOM 1-3 for PS2.

>>750154156
Neato, i'll hold off for a bit but it seems to be progressing pretty quickly.

Where are the Mech Assault recomps? Also, while it's cool to have them, I don't understand why people are recompiling retro games? What's the point other than to support 16:9 I guess, but how does that even work?
>>
>>750154452
Yeah people complaining about these ai slop ports but honestly the good ai ports (which usually means they tested it for more than a day unlike the Wind Waker HD port) are better than most ports pre 2015/2016 ish and especially better than 6th gen ports. I think people forget how dogshit PC ports could be.

Splinter 1 on PC was a pretty good port for 2003 but even then it had a few downgrades and bugs compared to the Xbox port. A decent ai port is usually close to console perfect with upgrades on top (shadows, draw distance etc)

7 is better

>>750154613
>I don't understand why people are recompiling retro games?
native hardware support. Emulators are still mostly capped to emulated said hardware the games was designed for.
>>
>>750155219
Sure, but 7 is getting recomp'd soon too.
>>
>>750155219
5 is WAY better

hopefully some recomps/decomps the Toukiden series we need more mh likes out there
>>
>>750155518
No point in 5 when 6 exists.
>>
>>750155534
It was more of a demo to 7 than anything, I'm pretty sure Kazunori Yamauchi mentioned this a long time ago. Some elements from Sports are still found in 7.

That post being made on Twitter is peak projection. The average tasteless plebian can't handle real video games, they are kept in their Plato's cave of predictable and easily understood garbage. To them real games are just an accessory to appear cultured. Anyway, I just beat JSRF in that recomp that's part of xrevive, I think I like it more these days, wasn't huge on it when I first played through it many years ago.

Ah yes, I love 'the real loading simulator'.

It's honestly more embarrassing to see people get hyped about any releases *within* the past 10 years
>>
>>750155847
Those loadings should take seconds in a PC.
>>
>>750155847
This is why a PC recomp would be ultra great

Just finished the Saints Row 1 recomp.
Had some problems, like the menu navigation controls are a little goofy, and the tagging activity didn't always show what inputs it needed to complete it, but I was able to 100% the game.
>>
>>750155768
Its just nintendo normies being mad at people using emulators on PC or phones to play Pokemon romhacks. They need to justify spending 20 bucks on Fire red.
