I never liked this series even when it came out.It always felt like it was very casual and on rails with a lackluster story that I can't even remember. It was pretty dull in general.Next games were gay as fuck with ugly character designs and everyone being bisexual or gay, stories were all about oppression of some kind.I had no idea what progressives or wokies were back then, but this series in hindsight absolutely fit that bill.Only thing that anyone seems to remember about the whole game series, is that they wanted to fuck Morrigan and that's about it.

It's amazing how you can be facing an enemy doing well but then an enemy mage shows up and now the fight just got 10x harder.It really does seem like the developers did zero play testing when it came to balancing mages.

>>750171949I tried a strength based shapeshifter recently. I used spells that don't scale based on your magic, like glyphs and could wear armor naturally. It was cool but the strength is mid tier. Shapeshifter's biggest problem is the cast time for the tranformations. You have to be really proactive to use more than one transformation effectively per battle. But it is cool and if you're someone that has played the game a lot already, you might have fun playing a suboptimal class. I did.

DAO is the only game where I would want to play as a dwarf. Most other time dwarf just suck. They often trade movement speed for some magic resist that isn't worth it.
