How is Insomniac still around? They are as bad as BioWare was
>>
>>750155732
Imagine you wake up to the sound of her giggling, you open your eyes and see that you're in a dimly lit chamber. As you try to move, you realize that your arms and legs are fastened to a crossbeam, spread apart. You also notice now that you are completely naked. She comes from around the corner, still giggling, before delivering swift, brutal kicks to your exposed, dangling testicles.

What do you do?

Spider Man 1 made a lot of money and Rift Apart was a tech demo Sony wanted for PS5. Tbh they can probably survive just being a Spider Man studio for the next 10+ years.
>>
insomniac games make money (crazy I know)
bioware's last profitable game was inquisition, they were burning through their pockets for 12 years
>>
Wolverine is the first commercial flop they've had in 10 years
>>
>>750155732
i miss youth and beauty
>>
Wolverine sold like hotcakes despite being shit.
>>
>>750158000
Needs 6 million just to break even and it's still at 2 million, it's not selling well.
>>
>>750155732
Because MAHVEL is the most popular thing on earth.
>>
>>750158138
Estimated at 2 million. Still no official sales figure announcement.
>>
>>750155732
because marvel is the biggest super hero IP on planet earth?
>>
>>750158524
no its not
>>
>>750158000
no it didn't
>>
>>750155820
>Tbh they can probably survive just being a Spider Man studio
No, Spider-Man 2 sales mainly came from it being bundle with the PS5. If Sony was smart they'd be telling insomniac to drop silk and anymore MJ missions and have miles take a back seat to focus solely on Peter.

crazy thing is marvel spiderman 1 was actually good. good optimization, fun sandbox and open world, really satisfying swinging around. generally high quality cutscenes and decent story telling. peter and mj relationship wasnt toxic, and both looked normal instead of raceswaps. miles was likeable and not taking over the spotlight and instead got his own spinoff, and his black deaf gf is cute instead of trans gwen coal. they just kinda completely RAPED it with the sequel and ruined all potential by humiliating peter, making mary into a complete girlboss with a weird ass face, and just forcing the coal of peter moving out of the spotlight and miles taking over while peter is young as hell and in his prime and it makes no sense. and that shit somehow got 10/10 ratings from critics, and normies bought it since the first game was good. i wonder if the third will sell well or if they burnt too many people with 2. but i wouldnt be surprised if retarded normie spiderman fans buy anything at this point

Give it time, we needn’t do anything but do nothing

>insomniac games make money
lol no after the gay wolverin thing
>>
>>750155732
Bioware haven't made good game since 2009 and it took 17 years for them to die.
>>
>>750160224
it has nothing to do with being good but straight up numbers
insomniac games are shit too but they bring money
>>
>>750155783
Scream

>>750155732
Wolverine was their first failure
Bioware had 3 in a row.

>inb4 spiderman 2 was a failure
It sold many copies and made enormous profit

The sales figures aren't comparable, even Wolverine outsold Veilguard. Doesn't mean it did well, but Bioware was another level of monetary blackhole. Bioware shipped two disasters in a row. People on /v/ are pretending to have liked Bioware as if they didn't ship two AAA flops in a row.

Also, even if the X-Men/Wolverine contract at Insomniac falls through, they have Spider-Man which is more or less ensured profit.

Check this 5.
>>
>>750160761
>my youtube culture warrior told me it flopped
The same way some faggot on /tv/ tried arguing that Spiderverse did badly.
>>
Weren't there leaks saying that Miles Morales made like $200m profit?
Also they didn't make a single post about Wolverine's sales figures which is very strange because they would usually celebrate every fake million for any other game because normalfags fall for it.
>>
>>750161219
desu the idea that devs give sales figures first month of release is a /v/ agenda poster psyop, modern AAA devs stopped doing that a long time now, it's no longer considered a good idea. It was like 10 years since Ubisoft last did that with asscreed. Usually it's months or years after launch they start boasting about numbers, (if at all)

That being said, very low chance they break even with Wolverine but it's not going to be burning a deep hole in their pocket.
>>
>>750160821
Nah you gotta prove it made the much, nigger... if it made so much money where's the dlc? Why did they leave the pc port fucked up and broken? Seems odd for such a best seller.
>>
>>750161201
Dude, change your dress. You stink.
>>
>>750158000
>>750158764
Why do people on this dying site pretend sales numbers are public information they know?

Not true. 007 had sales figures for even the first day of sales. AC Shadows celebrated day 1 with the 2/3 million sales on launch. I feel like Veilguard also did but I can't find the posts right now since I'm slacking off at work.
>>
>>750155732
You can bet on it. I don't think Insomniac will exist for much longer. Check Kalshi!
>>
>>750155732
They're not there quite yet, but they're getting there.
>>
>>750160568
Eh they have had a few duds and Fuse was a big failure.
>>
>>750161785
With assshadows, they celebrated "players" not units sold. Even when a Ubisoft game does well, they typically don't tell you units sold until years later. Probably to build trust towards their next game, omg we sold 10 million units even though it was 80% off for most its life, type shit.

Anyway (most) devs don't do that anymore, most of the sales figures good or bad are typically external analytics until it either flopped hard or went platinum.
