I started playing Disco Elysium and realized that I fucking hate video games. Not because it's "le woke" or whatever /v/ retards think. Just all the missable shit. If you don't use walkthroughs and cheats you can't do fucking anything. The whole game is just pure anxiety, wondering what you missed, having to write down everything to return to. And then I realized, fuck this shit. I would much rather just watch a show or read a book.
>but what about gameplay? DE is basically just a VN with stats
I don't give a fuck about gameplay either. If there's even the slightest amount of challenge (risk of death) or grinding I immediately want to cheat to bypass that too.

So basically I've been playing video games for about 25 years basically every single day but I hate them and only play them in spite of the "game" part. Don't get me wrong, most games have pretty mediocre story and art, I literally just play them to cross them off some imaginary list.

Then just stop?

sounds like a you problem to minmax everything.
just go with the flow

So just uhh... use walkthroughs and cheats?

I do but there's no enjoyment. I'm basically just reading a shitty book or watching a shitty tv show with extra steps.

I can't because of the OCD and depression.

you are mentally ill

Play something like Evil West, you never need to wonder where to go. Love that game

Literally just go read books/watch movies then. Game stories have never been good. You play a video GAME for the GAMEPLAY.

I know what you mean. In middle school I used to play PnC adventure games. Had no internet, so when I'd get stuck I'd spend hours trying to figure out on my own how to progress. Then me and my friend who also played them would talk about it the next day in school. A few years back I played Primordia and any time I was stuck for more than 10 minutes I'd just look it up online.
A few years back I played Hollow Knight for the first time and started looking up thing halfway through. Definitely ruined the experience, so for Silksong I told myself not to do that. Got to ~98% without any help.

Honestly, if you're not enjoying games just stop playing. Especially if you're just doing it to check off some list. There's more media out there than a man can go through in ten lifetimes. Do the things you enjoy.

You have low-functioning autism. You are literally to retarded to enjoy video games, and too retarded to stop. It is 100% your fault.

I don't play single player games any more because they feel like they are constantly trying to trip you up

This requires a functioning brain, but maybe try logic puzzle games? No missables, no bad writing, no griding, no risk of death, just intellectual stimulation and logical epiphanies.
Variant sudoku puzzles constructed by real people can be extremely good, a good start is the Rat Run series by Marty Sears.
