Which sin is worse: asset recycling or art style whiplash?
>>
I prefer art style changes over reusing the same shit for years
>>
>story gets more serious over time
>art style matches it
That's something COOL that video games do
>>
"Thank goodness it sold well, never change it" vs "We didn't sell what we expected to, we need to tweak it"
Also, tone whiplash is worse than either.

>Xenosaga
such a boring and shit game, I don't know how it sold enough to warrant two sequels. Even Yasunori Mitsuda's contribution to the game's soundtrack was uncharacteristically dogshit

asset recycling.

Xenosaga 1 art style was bad though. They hadn't figured out anime in 3D yet. 2 looks weird as well but its an improvement. Never played 3 so I can't really say in detail.
