You can't blame EA at that point for rushing them or not giving them enough budget, Bioware was just full of incompetent fucktards at that point (see also Anthem being an unfocused mess cause nobody wanted to step up and direct the fucking thing). What makes Andromeda's case worse is the writing is so bad that even if you like the gameplay, it sucks up so much of the joy you could possibly have that I wouldn't blame anyone for dropping it after the infamous MY FACE IS TIRED conversation. It tries to be a typical action adventure with a focus on characterization and a slight comedic bent wearing a sci-fi skin, and somehow it fails at that. How the fuck do you fail at something so easy? Even Nintendo can accomplish that much, just look at Splatoon (which wears a post-apocalyptic skin but whatever, close enough, and it does more with that premise than Andromeda does).
