I still remember the day BioWare died in my mind.It was March 12th, 2012. The day I saw the ending to ME3 for the first time, and wondered why I ever got invested in the first place.

>>750181572Any fictional character ceases to exist when the story ends, but having a character die at the end of their story adds a sense of true finality that makes your experience with that character a closed loop. Everything a character is and could ever be culminates in not just continuing to not exist in reality but also no longer existing in their own context. You were the last witness to a character that only existed because you chose to believe in them. The story and the characters within it are not and will never be real, but the emotions you experienced because of it are real.
