Can someone explain how TF2 Medic's gameplay is based but OverWatch's Mercy is for troons?
They are both troon coded. Med is just a bit harder because he has to do autistic shit like damage surfing.

Played a bit of Mercy when OW went free and she's but a W+M1 healer with the occasional space bar press.It's evident that she was designed for women as pockets to their Reinhardt maining bfs or something of this nature. Her pistol is a peashooter so fighting back is not advisable by the game itself.Meanwhile Medic can be a damage dealing healer while he's not curing or kritzing. He's not just a moving dispenser if played well.
Character design wise both of them are giga badass. Left is a nazi mad doktor chad who makes you immortal and right is an angelic nurse doctor stacy who flies in skies and resurrects people also her Halloween outfit is just classic. Good work on artists.Gameplay wise tho they are both gay. Overpowered support chars that make game revolve around them and take no skill to play. They literally sit behind their team and farm their overpowered ults (kinda fixed with ow mercy but tf2 medic is still incredibly op in this regard.) But most importantly they are incredibly easy and boring to play. Not easy as in soldier or demo, easy as in you just hold mouse 1 and don't over extend and die. Actual bitch characters by gameplay design perspective. Characters meant for actual women to contribute in sweaty fps games. Medic is so fucking broken medic count is the single most deciding factor who wins games be it in pubs or comp if it didn't have class limits.0 skill support classes need to fuck off in general. Need more stuff like Ana (sniper healer) instead.

People underestimate Medic all the time in combat, he has broad healing/uber options, rewards highly-skilled gameplay and even has the Crossbow for sick trickshots. All these things make him actually fun to play, and his character design is the icing on the cake. Moderately-unhinged Nazi doctor psychopath that no game developer could get away with today.

Tf2's movement feels inherently less floaty than Overwatch, so walking around as a healbot feels better. On top of that, Medic's Crossbow is incredibly fun, skilful and rewarding to use, he's one of the better classes at meleeing thanks to his speed, health & how crits work and his ubercharge is many times more impactful than Mercy's ult since it's the only "Ult" in the entire game

With good aim, you can land 2 shots on an approaching power class at mid-range forcing them to make a very serious decision of commit and probably die, or run and not feed. I also outsnipe snipers regularly with it too. Someone who knows how to dodge can usually speedtank 2-3 typical pub-level snipers without much trouble.

The crossbow is the single most fun weapon ever given to a healer, simple as thatYou get to feel that fuzzy feeling of being a support while also getting to flex your aim by triaging allies mid combat and stealing their kills

Arguably, mercy takes slightly more skill to play in OW than medic does in TF2, but only just. medic is certainly better than mercy, he does damage. but he's still by far the worst class in tf2. the best way to do healers in games is shit like zenyatta in OW. medics crossbow isn't too bad though.
