I didn't find out about them until this year and I feel it shouldn't be so secret.I used to like Gamestop for preorders (at least NA pre-orders) but the upselling is just too much these days. It's only supposedly certain batch of specific late 3DS games that are theorized to be faulty manufactured, but no one has given concrete proof other than anecdotes of "it happened to me" It's been 15 years since the 3DS first came out. There would be lots and lots of reports of dying idle carts if it was such a wide and common occurrence (which is not)
