>It's like this game was programmed to ragebait me.
It is, that's Noita's entire point.
Everything deals ungodly amounts of damage while you have fuck all for health unless you grind parallel worlds which requires a needlessly obtuse setup, most of the spells in the games will kill you rather than enemies and they're completely useless at any stage in the game because the meta is stacking tick damage from basic spells while overloading your wand with some specific modifiers, the vast majority of which aren't even explained in-game, then there's incredibly cheap shit like poly and the layers upon layers of RNG for just about everything.
Noita is at its core a FOMO game that tickles you with the premise of being able to solve "mysteries" and build tons of crazy wands but at its core what the game actually wants you to do is build a digging wand and a maximized tick damage wand to kill shit with, but it constantly ragebaits you with cheap shit while jingling keys on your face promising that you have learned shit (you most likely didn't) and that the next run will be different (it most likely won't).
Once you figure out how to actually play the game it becomes boring very quickly and you realize that yes, the game is actually just finnish bullshit like you thought 2 hours in, but it's very memeable finnish bullshit.
>>

Just reroll until you get edit wands anywhere or just install a mod. Anything else is just playing the lottery on being able to see the rest of the game.

Is it just me or is stacking More Love incredibly and severely underrated? It basically nullifies nearly all threat from poly other than terrain damage and bosses at the cost of making the game the most boring shit ever

>the meta is this one specific build that I decide is regarded as the meta for some made up reason
No wonder why you think this game is rng. You can get by with rapidfire wands, shotgun wands, payload wands, all sorts of wands that you can reliably get a build for. You don't need to seek one specific build. Of course you're not going to get a specific build reliably, but you can get viable builds reliably in any run. Plan ahead, pick and disregard wands and spells to maximise getting something viable. Even in nightmare mode you don't need to go for a specific build, and there is a variety to get by. Even though noita is not a roguelike, it plays fairly similarly to one, and you should position yourself like you're playing a roguelike, with momentum as an added element. Don't get yourself surrounded. Don't pick fights you'll lose. Kite enemies so they all appear in front of your wand rather than around you. Git gud.
>>750198442
You don't need to do this. You can explore without tinker with wands everywhere. You don't need to avoid collapsing holy mountains either. Plan ahead, git gud. You can still explore while in the main path.
>>750199030
Doing that makes the game boring. You might want it if you're doing some sort of experiment like an alchemy lab.
>>
>>750190797

>>
>>750202093
No, anon, Noita has a meta and it's a really boring one. You can claim that all these other options are viable but they are not when you compare them to the best options.

Noita is designed like a roguelike but with the worst aspects of them instead of the best aspects of them. It's all ivory tower game design instead of actually being fun to experiment with and learn about, since most spells do in fact just kill the player if you try to use them on the wrong wands.

The tinker with wands anywhere mod is absolutely necessary to learn enough about the only good part of the game (Wands) in order enjoy the game at the bare minimum, the fact that it is not that way by default is a failure on the part of the devs.
>>
>>750202450
If you don't know what a spell does, stick it to a trigger and cast it on something far away.
It should take no more than a couple deaths via spell experimentation for this to become standard policy.

>But I can't wand tinker anymore. All the temples are gone.
Skill issue.
Just don't collapse the temples 5head.
>>
>>750202450
Wrong. Tick damage is not a meta. You are arbitrarily constraining yourself to some nonexistent meta with specific builds then complaining about rng while highly limiting your options for some arbitrary reason. You are bad at the game. All options I listed can kill enemies instantly. There are plenty of spells and wands to find in each level, and most of them don't kill you. It's fairly obvious when a spell looks dangerous, and you can quickly learn patterns on what the spells do and how they can kill you. You can't claim the TWWE mod is good for learning when you clearly demonstrated your bad wandbuilding skills, wand selection and spell selection skills. You learned fuck all and you're bad at the game. Git gud.
>>
>>750202093
>No wonder why you think this game is rng.
Noita IS RNG, the wands you get are RNG, the perks you get are RNG, the layout variants you get are RNG, even parts of alchemy are RNG.
The fact that the entire game completely crumbles the moment you get a wand with delay and luminous drill, Tinker With Wands Everywhere or even simply a bottle of ambrosia to go through parallel words is all you need to know that Noita is indeed 99% RNG.
Hell most of the perks in the game are absolute garbage with quite a few of them being actively detrimental and making it even easier to die, the game now comes with an official mod for random starting wand setups to make the game less RNG based.
You can't plan ahead because planning requires being able to consistently follow a strategy in every run and the only way to do so in Noita is to hunt for very specific spells and items which are entirely RNG driven.
>You can get by with rapidfire wands, shotgun wands, payload wands, all sorts of wands that you can reliably get a build for
No you can't, unless by get by you mean rushing to Kolmi with zero orbs of knowledge and doing nothing else in the game.
>but you can get viable builds reliably in any run.
You mean scouring the world for very specific spells and ambrosia bottles, there's no "builds" in Noita.
>>750202856
>Just don't collapse the temples 5head.
The only ways to not collapse the temple is to either dig through them and anger the gods unless you have a very specific perk or have the metaknowledge necessary to know how to abuse teleport bolt to skip the collapse trigger at the exit, both of which include RNG too.

>Tick damage is not a meta
There's literally no other way to kill 33 orb Kolmi and tick damage wands are the most efficient wands for killing shit and especially bosses.
He's also another anon who chimed in, I'm the one who said that.
>All options I listed can kill enemies instantly.
No they don't especially not in nightmare mode, payload wands especially are also much more likely to kill you rather than enemies unless you have explosion immunity, which is RNG too.
You'll be much safer with a basic bitch luminous drill wand with projectile delay than any of the options you listed, also because unlike those you can also use it to dig, which is what you'll be doing for most of the game.

game is fun but once you can consistently get those godruns it becomes a bit boring, then again I think I’ve gotten my 7 dollars worth
>>
>>750203394
You might not understand this, but you can indeed plan around rng. Risk analysis. The game includes rng, but that does not make the game itself rng or require favourable rng to get by. Going for one specific build is how you get raped by rng and is one of the many reasons why you're bad at the game. Planning ahead with uncertainty and unknowns is a real thing. You consider all possibilities and select your loadout to handle all possibilities and have a viable build for all possibilities. You don't hunt for specific spells and items, you get a variety of them weighted by probable outcomes of success so you don't get screwed by the rng you complain about. I can consistently start a long run in about any run with my strategy. I think you are wasting a bunch of time trying to do "meta" things instead of actually playing the game, which is why you're so bad at building wands. You can get spells and wands while going down the main path, and build wands that can oneshot anything by the time you leave the temple of the art.
>>750203783
Killing 33 orb kolmi comes at the very end of the game, where you very likely can build whatever you want, and doesn't require tick damage. 33 orb kolmi has high health but you can still build wands that oneshot him. Again, both of you are bad at building wands, and both of you are bad at the game. Sounds like you wikidived and went straight for 33 orb despite 33 orb being far above you and your skillset to understand naturally. You keep making excuses and putting blame on rng instead of your own bad analysis and skills. It is pathetic. There is nothing more pathetic than someone that is bad at a game and proceeds to blame everything other than themselves, never getting good. You will never get good if you have this mentality. You are pathetic and talentless.
>>
>>750204912
>but you can indeed plan around rng
How do you plan around a random worm angering the gods and spawning steve in the very first holy mountain?
How do you plan around propane tank completely hidden under the snow in the hiisi base?
How do you plan around shifting liquids?
You don't, you just need to know which spells and perks are shit and how to dig efficiently, if you can't get ambrosia and black holes/Luminous drills then you don't get through parallel worlds and there's no way around it, there's no "planning" around this because it's all up to RNG whether you can find them or not.
>You can get spells and wands while going down the main path, and build wands that can oneshot anything by the time you leave the temple of the art.
No you don't, also because a lot of spells are locked behind orbs of knowledge, bosses and various other locations outside of the main dungeons, feel free to record yourself oneshotting Sauvo with a basic wand you get from the first three floors to prove your point though.
>Killing 33 orb kolmi comes at the very end of the game, where you very likely can build whatever you want, and doesn't require tick damage
33 orb Kolmi has so much HP and so many immunities the only way to kill him is to build a wand that deals infinite tick damage in one way or another, so no, you can't go there and kill him with whatever you want.
There's no "skillset" needed to beat Noita, you just need to know that 90% of the spells and perks in the game are garbage that actively endangers you as a player, which is why most people drop the game as they can't be assed to play the russian roulette game, especially after the devs nerfed so much shit into uselessness.
You fags are the same exact posers as Cogmind players, the fact that so few people even beat basic Kolmi is a testament of poor game design and a userbase of deranged posers.
>>
>>750206338
>steve
Throw a tablet at him or kick a statue at him.
>propane tank
Don't shoot into snow that you're standing on or are near. Easily avoidable once you know it can happen.
>shifting liquids
I have multiple interpretations on what you mean by this so you'll have to elaborate.
There's more to it than simply knowing about spells. You need to strategise. I have no problem finding the tools I need to achieve things in any run. Your knowledge is limited so what tools you think are available are limited. You aren't attempting to expand your knowledge because you're stuck in a cycle of finding the same specific spells, builds and strategy even though it's not working well. Black holes and luminous drills are common. Parallel worlds aren't even necessary until high ng+ iterations. Sauvojen tuntija can be instantly killed by any of the plasma spells and giga blackhole because he proceeds to shoot himself with it. You can also try giga sawblade but that's pretty hard.
>kolmi
You are bad at building wands. 33 orb kolmi can be oneshotted. You are bad at the game. You are also bad at cogmind. You are probably bad at a lot of games that don't have obvious, steady and linear ways of improving at the game. There is nothing more pathetic than being bad at games and blaming the games instead of attempting to improve. What a pathetic manlet existence of yours.
>>
>>750208112
>Throw a tablet at him or kick a statue at him.
Both are unreliable, especially the latter, and the former not only requires metaknowledge but also to sacrifice an item slot.
>Easily avoidable once you know it can happen.
So again, you admit it's all about metaknowledge.
>I have no problem finding the tools I need to achieve things in any run.
Because you already know that the vast majority of those things are complete garbage and you know the few select things that work, which is exactly why Noita isn't a hard game at its core unlike what you previously stated.
The perfect demonstration of this is your method to kill Sauvo, which is something you can't achieve without RNG either on top of the metaknowledge you need to know about that particular detail.
Yes, as I also said before 33 Kolmi can be oneshotted with a select wand that can inflict infinite tick damage, certainly not a payload wand since 33 Kolmi has more HP than any explosion spell can deal with, nor a shotgun wand since no shotgun wand can achieve the sheer amount of damage needed to kill it, never mind elemental spells since it has immunities to those too.
I'm also one of the few people who not only play but beat Cogmind so you're wrong on that too, Cogmind is another perfect example of a very simple game that is all about RNG and following an extremely specific playstyle to beat reliably, which is why nobody plays that game either since it's not a good game.
>>
>i don't like metaknowledge in my game whose entire design philosophy and story themes are acquiring metaknowledge
>>
>>750209614
>You can totally plan and strategize in this game where less than 10% of your options is actually usable
>What do you mean that the need for extensive metaknowledge and extremely limited viability are mutually exclusive with actual strategy?
So you agree that Noita is poorly designed?
Are you seriously saying that the vast majority of perks and spells being useless if not actively dangerous to the player is good game design?
Are you one of those deranged faggots who unironically say that wastes of space like Lukki Mutation, Gas Blood, Angry Ghost or Contact Damage are good actually even though they only exist to dilute the perk pool and increase the RNG so you can't get the perks that actually matter?
>Oh but if you spend hours reading about undocumented shit on the wiki you can figure all of that stuff out!
>>
>It's GOOD RANDOM if it always lets me win and everything is useful and meta and there's a in-game checklist for everything i can do
>It's BAD RANDOM if i can't plan around every single thing and have to actually try to get through with what's given to me
>>
>>750209327
Both are reliable. Not only do you have but wandbuilding, bad strategy, bad risk management, and bad tactics, but you also have bad mechanical skills too. The knowledge of the tablet is something you find very early on in Noita. It's not really a large sacrifice if you're taking it in the mines, possibly sacrificing nothing of meaningful value. After the coal pits you can likely build a wand that kills him. A large chunk of spells I find can be used in my main wand. There's a lot of other stuff I find that can be used in throwaway wands. You can always kill steve after the temple of the art, you don't need to kill him by snowy depths every run. But you certainly can. A wand to oneshot kolmi doesn't need to be an infinite damage tick wand btw. You're just bad at building wands. The cause of death in cogmind comes with a lot more abstraction and into the strategy layer. If you can't handle something as simple as risk management in noita, then you certainly won't be able to comprehend cogmind. You are bad at noita and cogmind. You blame the game instead of yourself. You are a blamer, which means your skill ceiling is low, you are angry and you are bad. You are no different to someone that blames their team mates for you being hard stuck at whatever pathetic rating you have. You are pathetic.
>>
>>750210907
I have no idea why you're so fixated on the tablet when a simple Circle of Ice spell lets you kill Steve in a much easier way, especially since it's a common spell you can reliably find in the mines and without needing to waste an item slot on something that is only really used specifically to kill Steve, something the vast majority of players in an already small playerbase doesn't bother with also because the game doesn't actually tell you just how much damage a tablet can deal with him, or a boulder spell for that matter, never mind the fact that on a casual run people won't even kill steve anyway because after three of them you get Scott which is a much bigger pain in the ass.
>There's a lot of other stuff I find that can be used in throwaway wands.
There isn't, lol, which is also why the achievement for legit 100% spell completion still sits at 0% to this day, the vast majority of spells are dogshit you'll never use and are outclassed by Luminous drill alone.
>A wand to oneshot kolmi doesn't need to be an infinite damage tick wand btw. You're just bad at building wands
Okay, show me a lightning, shotgun or payload wand that can kill 33 orb Kolmi and doesn't rely on stacking tick damage then.
>The cause of death in cogmind comes with a lot more abstraction and into the strategy layer.
The main cause of death in Cogmind comes from lacking/not using infowars parts, AKA the only way you're allowed to play the game as actually engaging in combat is always a net loss (therefore invalidating 80% of the parts in the game) and not knowing what's around you at any given time so you can avoid being spotted and engage in combat, heaven forbid if you're not able to move around at 3X speed, which is why again, when you look at Cogmind's achievement even something as simple as using a fucking Botcube sits at 0.6% in a miniscule userbase.
You can keep lying in here but the actual numbers don't.
>>

>>750212597
It's not hard to kill Steve with a tablet or statue. It's not hard to figure out that rocks and other objects deals a lot of damage when they fall on an enemy. Tablet can also be used to kill giant bats, and many of the enemies in the fungal caverns. You are much more likely to find the tablet to be more useful than your least useful item in the mines, nevermind combining the probability to also find a circle of freeze. Scott isn't that big of a problem if you understand wandbuilding, which you don't because you still complain about rng. Normally as one person's knowledge grows, the roster of viable spells, tactics and strategies grow. Unfortunately for you it's the opposite. You have a very bad methodology. You whine, complain and blame, which using a small set of strategies and leaning too hard on them. It's pathetic. You can oneshot kolmi with a bunch of omegas, divide bys, damage modifiers and random shit. It's only ng+28 33 orb kolmi that requires knowing how to build really strong wands, or using exploits (tentacle with spells to power).
>cogmind
You can reliably get infowar components at any stage in the game. Achievements have never been reliable for any game ever, they're ultra low in every game. Doesn't actually mean that few people achieved the act. Cogmind is a game that relies on careful planning, tactics and strategy, something you're incapable of. You are a blamer. It's pathetic. Name one (1) game you're good at. What a pathetic excuse of a human being.
>>
>>750213896
Having to abuse a bad mechanic in the game (Tablets being lethal weapons) is not good game design, dude. I'm not even the guy you're talking to but you are proving the point that most spells in Noita are shit when your best weapon is just kicking a big rock at them, basically.
>>
>>750214106
You are also bad at building wands, and bad at the game. You are just as pathetic as him. It would be a bad mechanic if tablets aren't lethal weapons. If rocks are lethal weapons, why wouldn't tablets be? Steve is an unusually strong opponent for something you'd see before the coal pits, so it's not unreasonable that the wands you'd have are unlikely to be effective against him. Doesn't mean they're not effective against everything else you'd see at that point in the game. There are lots of tools to deal with steve. Tablets, kicking stone statues, or you can run past him and he'll die to the holy mountain collapsing.
>>
>>750214824
Kicking rocks instead of using spells in a game that is all about casting spells is boring and gay, anon.
>>
>>750215226
You are a faggot.
>>
>>750213896
If it's not hard why is it that so many people don't do it? Again, you can keep lying in here but the actual numbers don't, most people don't bother using tablets because they're inherently unreliable and it's much easier to kill Steve through other means.
>Scott isn't that big of a problem if you understand wandbuilding
Understanding wandbuilding has nothing to do with the fact that your actual spells AND wands are locked behind RNG, never mind how the game does not explain wand building in the first place as multiple key mechanics are literally hidden such as projectile velocity multipliers and caps, which is why again, hardly anyone plays the fucking game since the game itself does all it can to not let you play it.
>Normally as one person's knowledge grows, the roster of viable spells, tactics and strategies grow
Indeed, unfortunately it's not the case in Noita because most of those spells are useless so the more your knowledge grows the more you understand that most of the shit in the game is not viable and it's only there to dilute the RNG pool.
>You can oneshot kolmi with a bunch of omegas, divide bys
Oh right, with what actual damage spells?
Remind me how do you get those Letter and projectile multiplier spells in the first place?
>You can reliably get infowar components at any stage in the game
You literally can't, which is why even people with 1000 hours in the game can't win reliably with META STRATS and nobody plays the fucking game to begin with, because it's an RNG shitfest that got worse and worse through the years as Josh spiralled into deep mental illness at the thought that people actually beat his game.
>Achievements have never been reliable for any game ever, they're ultra low in every game.
Wrong, especially in the case of both Noita and Cogmind, the latter being an extremely bad case where over 50% of the achievements are below 10% including basic shit like again, using the botcube which show how most of you fags are literal posers.

Most of the content is hidden by virtue of bloating as the map is needlessly big despite having actually very few content, there's quite a few regions which are only reached by digging/flying for several minutes at very specific coordinates, things like the meat realm come to mind.
Some of it is RNG gated, like the black cube in the coalpits which might or might not spawn but this is pretty negligible.
Some of it is hidden behind "puzzles", most of it being vaguely hinted at in tablets, some of it being just something you have to figure out on your own and some of those are still unsolved to this day, largely because very few people actually play the game and even less among those care about those puzzles.
The game is very much a wiki game at the end of the day, whether that hinders your enjoyment of the game depends entirely on you because people don't necessarily play Noita for the puzzles, admittedly there's a lot of spells locked behind puzzles and specific areas which is why a lot of people just bypass the process of getting spells by using cheat mods.
