as a casual shmup appreciator who is a shitter I've found a lot of megadrive made-for-console shmups are good for this

Steel Empire (This one is especially forgiving, you don't even lose your shot powerup on death)
Thunder Force III (IV is substantially harder)
Trouble Shooter & Battle Mania Daiginjou
MUSHA
Gleylancer (Search gun type is easymode)
>>
>>750190997
Under Defeat
>>
>>750193435
Some people say that one is not that good, i'll check it anyway desu
>>
>>750190997
Deathsmile 1 as long as you keep choosing level 1 difficulty and ignore the 2 ex stages though you can't do that for final stage iirc
Battle mania daiginjou like other anon said
2hu shump games on easy/normal diff except the one where bombing drops your shot power fuck that shit
Neverawake
Witch-bot meglilo
Battle traverse
There are couple others but i forgot their names
>>
Shooters are simple, but you need finesse in your controls, there’s no way around it. If you don't have that finesse, that manual dexterity, you'll never become really good, unless it's in games where finesse isn't really necessary (there are a few).
That idea that they’re complex games is just nonsense spouted by retards who can't admit they like something simple.

>>750193817
Another Anon here. Under Defeat is a good game, but I just don't think it's all that beginner-friendly.
If you're going to play the game, don't be afraid to use the bombs. I was obsessed with figuring out how to beat all the bosses without using bombs, but it's unnecessary. Just figure out when to use the bombs at the right moment to handle the toughest parts..

Not a shmupfag but first Gradius holds a special place in my heart.
I also remember enjoying some shovelware helicopter shmup like 20 years ago, called Airstrike 3D I think.
>>
>>750190997
Unironically Touhou EOSD remaster, simple mechanics and mid tier in difficulty

I assume you mean reaction time? How many years do I need to develop that dexterity?

I was thinking more about your ability to control the ship with precision.
For example, in one of the 1945 Strilers, there’s a section near the end that’s really hard for me, but when I watch skilled players, they make the whole section look easy because they position themselves directly in front of a certain enemy, which puts the ship right in the middle of its two projectiles.
There are about 5 or 6 of those enemies that come one after another, and good players position themselves between their projectiles EVERY time, while I can barely manage to do this twice in a row, because is like, 2 pixel of tolerance or some shit...

Personally, I just can't get good at this, no matter how much I practice. I simply don't have the manual dexterity needed to execute these kinds of tricks with almost pixel-perfect precision.

If you aren't already, use keyboard or a pad.
It's infinitely easier to do precise inputs

How are Rozen Maiden games in general? All I hear being recomended is AliBat and that is a fan game right? Are the official games not good?

Ikaruga.
>>
>>750203467
As far as I know there are only fighting games and VNs.
AliBat is the only one I played, it's pretty good but, being a fighting game, it doesn't have much to offer. No idea if it's possible to play online.
One in the OP is a fightan also, and a clone of some other game at that. There was a MUGEN fangame too somewhere, with crude custom sprites.

Fantasy Zone I and II DX are some of the easiest shmups you can play. You can abuse the shit out of the shop, basically eating through all the stages with the 7 way shop and buying a life whenever you die. The final boss of the first one is a complete joke once you know how to use the heavy bomb. Also you go at your own pace so you can dictate what threats are on screen. If you want an extra challenge you can play without autofire but thats retarded. Once you beat both try to go for ghe best ending in II DX, its actually a decent challenge. That and Batsugun Special and Devil Blade Reboot. Even Batrider practice mode is pretty fun.

Gradius 1 NES. Your shield protects your entire ship in this version, as opposed to arcade where only your front is protected. Twinbee is another one. The shield power up is durable enough to last the whole loop, though it's a bit hard (only a little) and not so straight forward to get the shield bell.
Cotton Rock n Roll is also on the easier side since it showers you in lives.

>>750203807
Ikaruga was actually one of the first shmups I got into, though it wasn't from being trolled into thinking it's a beginner game. I just love Treasure.
>>
Deathsmiles and Espgaluda are the easiest Cave games to 1cc on "regular arcade mode".
>>
>>750195042
You can only pick each difficulty twice in arcade mode. So if you do level 1 difficulty for 2 levels you cant choose it again, only 2 and 3 for the rest of them.
>>
>>750190997
Try Seirei Senshi Spriggan, Spriggan Mark 2, and Solider Blade.

I've been playing through alot of turbografx shmups and all three of these have unlimited continues
