The fuck? Never seen this game before in my life

It's not even that good. It plays very similarly to those F2P korean FPS games and not in a fun way.
>>
>>750196101
it was released with no fanfare and died immediately because it was a cheaply made rouguelike game.

Serious Sam 3 isn't terrible, and with the modifications added by "Fusion," it's a decent game. There are still serious design issues that Fusion doesn't fix, but if you look for mods, you'll find some that take the game from a 6.5/10 to an 8.5/10, like "BFE Enhanced," which, in my opinion, makes SS3 the game it should have been from the start (though it still has some issues).

SS4 has its moments, but it was severely hampered by an engine that clearly wasn't ready and a lack of polish in the game's balance. The developers clearly didn't test all the interactions that the game's mechanics offer.

SS4 Siberian Mayhem, with slightly better level and combat design, shows that SS4 has potential, although in my opinion, SM still doesn't live up to what Serious Sam really should be.

I'm optimistic about TTE. They just need to balance the combat well, create epic moments where you have to overcome seemingly impossible situations on your own, and NOT give the player an overpowered arsenal.

Serious sam shatverse

3 and 4's other problem was the narrative. It felt like even though 3 and 4 tried to be goofy, they took the narrative way more seriously than it should have been taken.

I'm seriously hyped. I've been waiting since I was a kid to get a conclusion to Second Encounter. I just really really hope it will run okay on my pc. If I enjoyed SS4 and SM on the lowest settings then I'm sure I will like this also. I just hope the system requirements won't be that high.

(It would have been a nice touch if they made this with a more polished Serious Engine, yknow for the sake of 'member grapes that the Serious Engine started this journey all along.)

Who cares? Serious Sam always sucked.

Yeah, but who cares about narrative in a SS game? Its there, but what matters is level design and gameplay.

Please not be prequel, let Sam win to mental

Here's to hoping it won't run like ass on consoles. Haven't played Siberian Mayhem though.

From store description, particularly
>BRAVE NEW WORLDS: Explore captivating alien worlds that shine like an old crazy diamond in a bright new light. The environments of The Third Encounter are dense and vivid, pulsing with new life, adventures, art-style... and the blood of your foes. Strange planets, twisted strongholds, and hostile landscapes become the battlegrounds where Sam's legendary one-man war reaches its explosive climax.
I get the impression this game will retcon or replace SS2. Then again, TSE also had multiple different locales to play through, so who knows.
System requirements seem to be exactly same as those of SS4, so they are probably using that. Not sure how good of an idea that is, I'd probably roll back all the way to Fusion. It should be more than enough given the more cartooney artstyle they are going for this time.
But all in all I'm cautious about it. Anouncement feels to be a bit rushed to me, as if they needed to do damage control after shitterverse. In all honesty I think I'd prefer if games were left alone and more people made custom maps, ala Doom, but I understand that without some pushing and reminding that Sam exists this is unlikely to happen.

>but who cares about narrative in a SS game?
Croteam cared enough to shove in over one hour of horrendous cutscenes into 4 and then you have all the radio broadcasts, Achriman messages, logs, diaries and whatnot.
>>
>>750200210
I doubt they'll use Serious Engine 4. They abandoned the engine while SS4 was still pretty broken. The guys clearly gave up on it and switched to Unreal Engine.
The only way I can imagine them using Serious Engine 4 is if, by some chance, they "vibe-fixed" it, which seems like something that could be done these days, but I wouldn't bet on it.
>>
>>750200210
I don't care, I just want it to run good on my shitty pc. I'm too broke to just buy a new gpu ffs.
>>
>>750199734
It's a sequel to TSE, not like SS2. So it'll actually be good.
>>

>System requirements seem to be exactly same as those of SS4
I thought Croteam stopped using the Serious Engine after SS4. I remember that the main programmer for the engine said that it got so bloated over the years adding stuff to it that they are completely switching to UE.

Must be a place holder, it's literally the same as SS4 and SM to a T. I'm expecting it to be around the same as Shitterverse since that was made with UE5, too.

Should I play the original or HD versions of First and Second Encounter? I heard the HD versions remove some gameplay elements like gravity rooms

*sigh* here we go again.
Play the originals first, then 2, then HD (or Fusion) if you liked the originals.

If you liked all of the above, play 3 and 4 but both depends who you ask if it's good or not (I had fun with both)
Siberian Mayhem for christmas eve.

Don't play Revolution.
>>
let me guess
Mental DOESNT show up
>>
>>750203339
NTA but whats wrong with Revolutions? I thought that was just a source port of the TFE and TSE since their engine went open-source.
>>
>>750203484
It's playable but unfinished and unstable. You're really better off just playing the originals. But since it's free and it comes with any fucking Sam games you buy, give it a try I guess.
>>
>>750203339
Better than ray tracing
>>
>>750202813
Other than the gravity rooms being removed, graphical improvements and physics improvements, the HD releases and the original are one-to-one the same. I'd still recommend playing the originals first as >>750203339 said.
