>"The developers at BioWare know how to run the studio. They know how to make the games we all love. They should be given the first opportunity—and the federal support—to buy it and run it themselves. And if we want to avoid the Mass Effect effect in Canada, we should be keeping private equity out, not welcoming it in."OK, OK, OK, OK.Let’s put all that patriotism stuff aside for now.>Who the fuck thinks nationalizing game studios isa good idea? You’re just turning game employees into civil servants. Those lazy good for nothings who used to leech off their companies are now leeching off the state. And they’ll keep churning out failed DEI games that nobody wants just to make a living.https://www.pcgamer.com/games/mass-effect/canadian-politician-calls-on-government-to-help-bioware-employees-buy-the-studio-and-run-it-themselves/
>>750198927Bioware was shut down because EA got bought out by some Saudi company of which Jared Kusher (orange man's jew son in law) is a principal investor. They have a ton of talent and can make great games, Canadians should support this.
>>750199037>They have a ton of talent and can make great gamesWhere were those talents in the past 20 years?
>Canadian tax payers are gonna have to keep Bioware alive
>>750199037>actually le Jews killed BiowareThis makes me hate Jews less, not support biowaste.
>>750199037this post gave me a blastgo go sis, tell the truth at these chuds
>>750198927This guy is not even an elected official and he stands for a dead party in parliament. But also objectively this idea is terrible because in practice it would effectively be a partial tax payer bailout for Trump's fucking son in law and the Saudi government for their terrible debt leveraged buyout. This idea would simply die in the house because the public optics of giving a member of Trump's family what would be millions of Canadian tax dollars would be political suicide in a time of so much anti-US rhetoric. (and besides, video game studios are just banners, what really matters is simply the people who work under those banners, affected staff can and likely will just find work at other studios, or make their own, and they don't need money funneled to a member of Trump's family to do that.)The thing about this EA deal is that the performance of the studios affected did not matter for the optics of who gets cut. Bioware could have been a studio releasing BG3 success stories out of every single title they released post-ME trilogy and they still would have gotten the axe because RPGs even at their peak cultural influence sell comparatively small potatoes over EA sports games and live services (yes, even 20mil copies like BG3) and with the amount of debt financing they have to do before interest payments kick in studios like Bioware were always on the chopping block when they have to cut like 700mil out of their yearly operating budget within like, a year to save the publisher from immediately turning insolvent from debt. I would place blame on the FTC more than anything for letting such a debt leveraged deal go through in the first place.
>>750198927If that retarded country ruins it I'll see to it the entire country is leveled.
>>750198927>buying a defunct studiolol have fun with thatsurely the next one will be a success
>>750198927>NDP proposalFor all you poor benighted non-leafs who do not have the privilege to live in the People's Republic of Soviet Canuckistan, the NDP is at historic records of irrelevance after their last leader drove it into the ground for izzat (and a lifetime parliamentary pension). A proposal by the NDP has less weight to it than the fentanyl induced ravings of some vagrant on a Toronto streetcorner.
>sacre bleu, our propaganda branch must live on!
>>750200395> leader drove it into the ground for izzatI thought all Canadian parties are into izzat hence the record number of Izzat-ians migrating into Cucknada?
>Studios in Toronto and Edmonton getting bought and closedKek they were already taxpayer funded
>>750200520While this is correct, the previous NDP leader was of pure Bharatiyan phenotype and so took the acquisition of izzat to new levels.
>>750198927Leaf here, literally no one listens to a damn thing Avi says.
>>750200835oy vey, why so antisemitic
>>750198927>Top opposition party>5 seats in a 343 seat House>Not even an official party any more due to not getting the minimum number of seats to qualify >Leader doesn't even have a seatFor fuck sake, foreign media, stop sucking Leftwing socialist cock
>>750199123We were already paying for them
>>750198927well isn't that how ubisoft runs?
>>750204315>ubisoftYes, Ubisoft has managed to stay afloat for many years thanks to employee subsidies from the Canadian government. It’s basically the textbook example of a zombie company. Now that the subsidies have dried up, Ubisoft is on the brink of bankruptcy.
