You guys are going to be really disappointed when nothing comes of this. It's a privileged userland exploit, so in theory this can get you as far as homebrew/cheats/save hacking, but not piracy. If you're still interested, if playing source ports of Super Mario 64 and ruining Splatoon Raiders online is important to you, you might want to keep an eye on this. But we might not get that far either, because pepsipu burned this fucking exploit for twitter clout. It wasn't a system vulnerability, it was a vulnerability in an eShop-only digital game. That means at the end of the day, this exploit will be used by a miniscule number of people. A small userbase means little interest for homebrew devs. They might not even bother writing the cheat code homebrew you're looking forward to.It is a step forward though. It just shouldn't have been released. This kind of exploit is only really suitable for developing better exploits. If he hadn't burned it, crackers could have used it to analyze future system updates for vulnerabilities. Now it's a dead end.
