How did he keep Bethesda afloat while the rest of the WRPG old-guard died?
>>
>cash in on 6 rerelease of skyrim
>teso prints money
>quick oblivion remake cash grab
>fallout 76 is also printing money somehow
>fallout tv show was a hit

Todd doesn't make RPGs or Adventure games. He makes experiences.

Simply put, Todd Howard is trying to make the perfect Todd Howard game. Not the perfect game, not even necessarily a particularly good game, but the perfect Todd Howard game. Many times in interviews he's talked about how every Bethesda game comes closer to his ideal game, the Perfect Todd Howard Game, the ultimate in Todd Howard experiences. What Todd wants is an immersive open world fantasy walking sim with intelligent AI NPCs, and ever since Morrowind he's been slowly inching closer and closer to that goal. With Oblivion the radiant AI made NPCs more complex (too complex, even), even though the end result was potato-faced mannequin people chatting endlessly about mudcrabs. In Fallout 3 the NPC chatter got scaled back, but there was more emphasis on just exploring the wasteland than what NPCs were doing. Skyrim got progressively closer to Godd Howard's vision, though limitations held him back, like keeping him from getting the massive battles he wanted. Fallout 4 tried having a voiced protagonist, which sucked, but I mean it's an okay game I guess. Arguably the best Todd Howard game in terms of having actually satisfying combat. But with each game, the worlds got bigger, vaster. Closer to what Todd wants.

In a kinda twisted way Todd Howard is incredibly based for not caring what other people want and pushing forward what he wants out of a perfect game. He will make TES6 the most immersive walking simulator you've ever seen, and Todd Howard will be fucking your girlfriend in the virtual world as you cry all over Reddit about how he's dumbed the game down yet again. The chips are stacked against you. Todd Howard is playing the game, my friend, and you're just an NPC.

Skyrim printed money, and he sold out to Microsoft five years ago

didn't they stop working for a week (read: do what they already were doing) to protest a 25% RIF

I've been replaying Skyrim and paying attention to dialogue and quests more, and it's pretty funny how not so subtly the game is mega woke. Like the amount of pro-feminist and anti-racist/xenophobic themes the game has is crazy for a game that most people see as "not-viking warriors killing dragons and chasing out invaders". But nobody pays attention to bethesda games dialogue or story and they zone out mid way so nobody even notices it's woke. And they have great support for mods and sandbox appeal for normalfags so people always keep buying them, and Bethesda's greed is unending with paypiggie FOMO like creations so they have an never ending income.

Strange that this news came and went with little furore

just take the first village (riverwood) and first city (whiterrun) as examples, and try to recall the characters in them, how diverse it was for a nord setting and not some imperial capital city, and also try to recall how the women were presented and how their husbands, brothers/family or men nearby were presented. Pretty much the only way Skyrim is kinda chuddy and not woke is that there's relatively few interracial couples and gay people. In terms of feminism and diversity its just too giga

>Hey Todd! How goes that new Elder scroll game?
>>
Starfield sucked but it wasn't a complete failure like Veilguard. The Fallout show being a success helped too. Bethesda still has enough going for it to survive, for now.

Elder Scrolls is their ace in the hole. They can just pretend to work on it and not get folded until the entire industry collapses due to AI.
>>
i'm glad all these legacy studios who can't make anything new are dying.

How does Lucan speak to Camilla, who is the dominant/reasonable in the relationship. How does Delphine talk to her husband, what is her hidden role. How does Gerdur talk to her husband about him drinking Mead. How is Sven presented. There's literally one non-toxic couple/group in entire place and it's just Sigrid and her Husband.

Take Whiterun, who's the first blacksmith you see, are the two patriarchs of two most important families seen as intelligent, respected, and reasonable leaders. Who is the main/strongest guard in Jarl's employment. How do both of the redguard wives treat/respect their redguard husbands. You just need to noootice more.

Get ready for riveting dialogue about how redguards be oppressed n shieeeet in 6

Todd's favourite races are Nords and Redguards. Unironically he would want Redguards to be badass barbarians like the Nords but Corps won't allow it. They all have to be statesmen, engineers, and doctors.

Starfield is hugely popular, like it's the most recent game in Nexus top 10 list, and that still doesn't take into account Creation Club mods, which at this point is more popular than Nexus for the game. Yeah it's no Skyrim or Fallout 4, it's not even Balding Gay 3, but it still sold at the very least a dozen million copies, which is really good numbers against approx $200-250 mil budget. I noticed space obsessed boomers who got let down by Scam Citizen love it.
