Maybe someone could use AI to improve one of the source ports but there's no reason to devote computing power into doing the whole thing from scratch yet again. It would be like reverse engineering the DOS version of DOOM; you already have the full source code and a myriad ports that can cover any niche you want, so you'd be spending tons of compute power redoing work that's already done
