>official feedback report with updates and changeshttps://teamninja-studio.com/wolong2/us/news/alpha-demo_feedback_report.html>IGN's new previewhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCqw0DkWoUk>new 50 minutes of gameplay https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JS8xK9bhkaAHow are we feeling?
Will have to play another demo to see how the changes feel. Most of them sound good, but some I am unsure of and will have to play it to see if I actually like the change.
ign did it again
My ninjas, we are so back
>>750211979GOTY
WO LONG GAY BOWSERLiked the demo to be fair, just don't like the open world but what can you do, everyone is doing it.
Wo Long 1 ran really badly. I finished the game but it was painful and I won't get another entry in the series unless it has much more stable performance. Also didn't play Nioh 3.Is the demo running smooth?
>>750211979>ChingChong simulator Skip
>>750213515>Modern tn >Optimisation Lol
>>750213515nioh 3 runs like complete dogshit and the wo long 2 demo ran horribly. wo long 1 only ran fine after the final update so its probably better to wait.however, waiting does not seem to matter anymore since they did not fix rise of the ronin, all they did was fuck up the LODs then call it a day and they havent even bothered to even try to fix performance with nioh 3.
>>750213451Honestly it fits this game a lot, all of this battlefield stuff and makes morale make sense. They improved their level design with Nioh 3, at least anything that was linear and it's most of the game actually, first map is mostly open, past that it's a lot more compact.
this fucking studio alone is bottlenecking my gaming rig, I dont think I can upgrade to 1440p even with my high end specs
>>750214009>They improved their level design with Nioh 3
>>750214317they screwed up with enemy placements and enemy variety in general but it's decent yes
>>750213517what about Phantom Blade?
>>750214405>they screwed up with enemy placements and enemy variety in generaltheir obnoxious choice of not just using every demon they've made until now in 3 pisses me off to no end. the game is fucking BARREN except for the skittles collection of jailer onis they sprinkle everywhere and i really fucking resent them for it.there's no way in hell the last dlc for 3 fixes this. such an easy fucking fix and theyre just hoarding them for no reason.
>>750214672Nioh is probably the only series where reusing enemies doesn't piss me off. I want to see the whole gang with new moves god damn it.
>>750214672yeah, it's so fucking weird. i genuinely pissed myself laughing when I saw a basic Yoki with a boss HP bar in first map
claude, backport nioh 3's parry and frost moon system to nioh 2, make no mistakes.
>>750215286I could probably do that tbqhit's not hard since it's the same engine
>>750215548>it's not hard since it's the same enginei think that's why >>750214672 is so mad.>I could probably do that tbqhdo what team ninja wont
>>750215286Claudius just fuck my shit up.
>>750213942>they did not fix Rise of the RoninI'll take that one off my wish list then. Dang.
>>750215548make sure to also port seemless stance combo ender transitions from stance to stance, it's actually something fists in nioh 2 already had by default and they never bothered to make an update for all weapons after dlc3, such an easy fix, claude can do it no problem I bet
>>750215981>>750215654I'd have to wait till Nioh 3 is finished with patches since patches mod actual weapon mechanics sometimes which can fuck over data mods
>>750215892If you can hit 60, use fsr framegen, it genuinely feels like 120, nvidia one gets screwed over by forced reflex because it limits your frames below 120 to like 116 or 117 and the engine starts spazzing out when it doesnt match 60 or 120. How does this even end up in a finished product?
>>750215892It runs great with 9800x3d's boosted clocks up to 5.3Ghz, Nioh 3 runs worse from my experience.
>>750213134My wu is long
>>750211979Did the remove the shitty open world and go back to creating quality mission based levels again? That was my feedback. Open world checklists ruined Nioh 3 and will ruin Wo Long 2.
>>750216224>recommending framegen for the game with some of the most evil attack patterns and strict parry windows>recommending framegen for the game with variable parry frames on stylesnot sure if evil or retarded
Where is the Wo Long schizo? Did he give up?
>>750216763I legit played it first locked 60 all the way through then tried framegen, it feels great, how about you try it? Or you can't even keep up with 60 on your setup? Just say so anon.
>>750211979Disappointed that all of the new major bosses they've shown so far/included in the demo were giant monsters. The dragon with the face, long neck monkey, giant turtleman, and now the spider and Nightmare Bringer Wo Long edition.Where are all the cool human fights like Lu Bu and blindfolded kid.
>>750217021Give it a bit
>>750217479>le works on my machine>le stop being poor, you're not poor, are you?fucking bot
So uh, a whole lot of nothing. I told them to add combo offset for flails and they're adding a general skill that sounds like it does that but that's about all they listened to me for. I'm disappointed to see that they're not removing gear levels, it's pointless to add that in from Nioh when just one simple upgrade level was enough. I still dream of the day when TN discovers that diablo loot is not the only gear system you can use for an action rpg. I guess making the spirit damage of strong attacks do more if you do them later in the combo is cool. The defect timing felt fine but of course they make it easier. I love shit like "add more tutorials at certain points in the field" when the game already had more than enough, they really think people are retarded. Who was struggling on figuring out what to do? Starting to worry about what feedback they're getting. It'll still be good though, not trying to bitch too much. Just wish they would've listed to more of my feedback. The dual chakram look fun.
>>750211979>go out of your way to make the game more interesting by adding more options than just deflect without removing deflect as a baseline option>shitters cry about having the OPTION to press more than one button>do a 180 and remove every downside or consideration to the new options so it's back to doing nothing but deflecting in the eyes of 99% of players>don't fix anything that actually needs it, fuck up things that don't
>>750217750>they really think people are retarded"People" were complaining about the game's inputs being too complicated because Insight Aerial Skill counters needed you to be in the air first, even despite the same input on the ground putting you in the air with iframes anyway. After the number 1 greatest complaint Wo Long 1 consistently got was a lack of complexity. It's retards all the way down.
>>750217750I think no items levels and having their stats scale directly with Morale wouldve been interesting, keeping rarity tho with unique modifiers, with maybe 10 star rarity.
>>750218640R1+X on the ground vs R1+X in the air was "'"too complicated"""? What? If anything, they could've just renamed them because that may have been causing confusion.>>750218672No way, rarity was one of the things that should be removed as well.
>>750219282https://youtu.be/vMGdH8wox9k?t=180
>>750219282I still don't like the binds they use for these insight skills, they could've been both just easily integrated into existing toolkit, that would've helped. Also it dumb that against specific red attacks like dragon boss airborne attack you want to do an insight jump, anything else you try against that results in way way way less form of both life and spirit damage and it doesnt reposition you in any other better way, so at the end of a day all of these different counters couldve been just done with regular deflect but for airborne ones you would also need to jump and catch the timing...now you don't even have to do that, still clunky complicated and pointless while also braindead easier now.
>>750220037Very good parody of these people, well done.
>>750220037They were integrated into the move-set, just at the cost of removing an ma slot. You're basically just complaining about having the option to do different input parries for different attacks.
>>750221001yes because its simon says, and t clutters the controller layout, MAs were a lot more useful, I will take two sets of 4MAs over these dumb insight skills
Rank all post-Itagaki Team Ninja games and why they're good. I am going to start Final Fantasy Strangers of Paradise then maybe Nioh 1 or Wo Long.
>>750211979>Increase the amount by which Strong Attacks and Martial Arts reduce the enemy's maximum Spirit gauge.>Add a skill that preserves your Quick Attack combo count when you successfully perform a Deflect or Insight Skill.>Increase the Spirit damage dealt by Strong Attacks based on how many Quick Attack hits preceded them.Nice, strong attacks were my main concerns
>>750222020my main concern is body type 2 drip
>>750211979i am no longer willing to put up with paying full price plus tip for their games so i wont be buying it, they really need to start giving a shit about how their games run. i got burned by rise and nioh3
>>750223736these games are actually worth their full price, but piracy is still valid option, paying 120 bucks upfront is a total bullcrap
>>750224553>these games are actually worth their full priceno, they're not, not anymore. the performance issues and the company ignoring their customers is not acceptable in the slightest. every single person that still defends them sound like cultists at this point when they tell people with 9950x3ds/5090s to get better hardware.
>>750221893Nioh series: has the greatest depth and variety of options as well as polish, consistently evolves its mechanics in smart ways that enhance the core fundamentals, generally the best balanced and most "complete" with a lot of variety on offer. 3=2>1 but all are worth playing and experience in one carries over to the next.Stranger of Paradise: Most distinct of all the games and has a fantastic foundation between its defensive and offensive mechanics, best take on a deflect system in any videogame due to not emphasizing it and having a lot of other options, can be the fastest paced out of all the games particularly in endgame, lots of environmental interaction and wall splats/juggles, amazing rendition of the Job system that allows for a ton of flexibility and customization, best build systems in endgame, best story and characters, it has Jack, also has tons of FF fanservice in generalRise of the Ronin: Open world, handles it pretty well with a lot of bases and options to approach them, movement and traversal feels nice with the glider and grappling hook, multiple styles within each weapon you choose adds an extra layer of variety and ways to change how each weapon feels, very deflect focused but with interesting combo and pressure routes through how Counterspark and panic work to take your turn back, also has dating sim elements and a pretty good story.Wo Long: one of the most fluid games especially with certain weapons, combat even more freeflowing than Ronin due to how Spirit works vs Ki, interesting Wizardry system with counters and much more support for comboing it together and with your weapons, also deflect focused but has some options to jump for greater punishes if you pay attention.
>>750225504Finally someone with good opinions, btw for me Ronin has the best feel and feedback, entire player moveset is very very high quality, not talking mechanically but animation wise, this is not usually that important in an action title but it's hard to not point this out when comparing, the feedback that you get in a fight is visceral, the way your character takes the hits, stumbles and falls off balance...none of their modern titles have this authentic quality, they've really put in a lot of work here. Best modern samurai simulation vidya by far and it's not even close.
>>750227802I can agree with that, it can be somewhat important in action games to add that extra layer of satisfaction in combat. The grapple animations are some of the best and feel like they have a lot of NG OT inspiration. The amount of polish and effort they put into it is stunning.
>>750213515I got Long Dong on the Switch 2 and i regret it, if choose resolution mode it stutters like hell, if i choose framerate mode everything looks blurry and enemies start moving like claymation figures if groups of 3 or 4 start ganging on you.I have no idea how they are going to make the sequel work on it.
>>750225504NTA but which games are the hardest and which are the easiest? I don't want to leave the easier games for last.
It's worst demo I've played in a long time.
>>750229189It's also beyond saving, this piece of shit will never be good no matter how many fixing they do and TN is no longer a good dev.
>>750228993Difficult to say for sure and it would depend heavily on you and how you approach the games, much of the challenge hinges on how much you're willing to put effort into learning and using the mechanics of each one. Ultimately there's not that much difference between them overall, all of them have ways you can make things much smoother, and all of them have their share of tough endgame challenges and bosses. The only thing to add is that Nioh being a series means more carryover between games which helps give you more of a headstart with each one whatever order you go in.
I feel like everything from this studio that isn't Nioh is fucking doomed. Nioh 3 ran like total dogshit, but it was at least fun to play even if I didn't like it as much as 2. RotR was awful with even worse performance somehow, Wo long same thing and mind numbingly bad gameplay, and Wo long 2 is on the same engine so I already know it's going to run like shit. These niggers need an engine upgrade really fucking bad. Their games would unironically run better on UE5 at this point which is insane.
>>750214317It is objectively better than the previous games but just like your pic you are blind and distracted by the word "open" and the fact there is no transition back to a mission campaign map before going from mission to mission.
>>750229679I don't get why TN is struggling with their own Katana engine. Omega Force used the same engine for DWO and that game looks beautiful and runs like a dream on all 3 platforms with huge stages and tens of thousands of enemies on the map.
>>750228576it apparently started development right after Nioh 1 dlc was finished, magnum opus indeed
>>750211979Thank fucking Christ for that
>>750230505omegaforce optimization guy gatekeeping
