capcom is banning you from seeing hitboxes in street fighter
>>
These notices aren’t legal. You can just ignore them.
>>
>>750213670
Can confirm, I do this with traffic tickets.
>>
Did they hide the epstein files in their framedata?
>>
this is the first step to them legally going after fightcade
>>
>>750213402
Good. the sooner we can kill fighting game autism and the cancer that is FGC the sooner we can get good fighting games again
>>
>>750213402
That's okay
I have my own tools generated by AI to do it
>>
>>750213402
>muh frame data copyright
Numbers aren't under copyright. That's why anyone can freely copy stuff like telephone directories
>>
wow im so surprised capcom is anti consumer
>>
>>750213402
e-sports fags killed fighting games, no wonder no one wants to play them anymore

Fuck off, capcom.

Cant wait to see ten thousand Japanese pedophiles defend this on twitter (they will be likening data analysis to the holocaust)

What could possibly be the actual intent behind this?
>>
>cheat at games
>company says to stop
>NOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T SAY THAT I DON'T WANNA STOP
They should start banning cheaters hardware or bricking it.
>>
>>750219909
They're paying attention to twitter and the current discourse in Japanese twitter is all about Tekken 6 piracy and whether mods and tools that alter an existing product are dishonorable or not. Some Japanese executive probably just started researching gaijin internet and discovered we have tools like that one which bring shame to his ancestors.
>>
>It's an "Important mechanical information that should be privy to the player is obfuscated for no reason" episode
many such cases

the fgc will complain for one week then go back to paying street faggot 6 like the raped cattle they are

>>

Is it morally correct to cheat in online games against other opponents who probably aren't also cheating? You bring up an interesting question, involving the moral dimension.

Now you go. Explain how it's morally correct to cheat in online games. I'll wait. Try to use formal logic when possible and keep the seething to a minimum.
>>
>>750220387
I don't play faggot shitty nugaymes, you dumb thirdie zoomoid. The topic of cheating in online games interests me though, people seem to feel entitled.
>>
>>750221448
Cheating is bad, yes. Simple labbing isn't cheating, though?
>>
>>750221448
Studying the game mechanics is not cheating
>>
>>750222280
>>750223084
What if you're "labbing" as you play? I think this is the real issue.
>>
Capcom doesnt allow mods in their games. This is not news. Monster Hunter has extensive anti tamper software to counter mods. REframwork has to play cat & mouse to get ontop of it.
>>
>>750213402
Capcom is worse than Bamco on the Modding community, they're still bitter on Chun li nude mod.

>capcom simply removes people's ability to see hitboxes instead of fixing stuff
brilliant
>>
>>750223185
If they're visible in real time during actual matches, then yeah. I thought it was just a training mode tool lol, I should've guessed it. Ranked ladders and modern matchmaking are a cancer on the genre for fomenting this kind of nigger behavior.
>>
>>750223185
>>750228991
While I don't doubt that there are mods that allow you to see hitboxes during matches, the OP is about a website. I assume whatever mod the website creator used to create his website is still online, making the whole thing extra stupid. Hell, the supercombo wiki still has the hitboxes
>>
It is cheating to have your hitbox visible during matches. This is not hard to understand. The game lets you see your hitbox in training mode. Everyone on this fucking site pretends to be retarded to complain about the wrong things I swear to god.
>>
>>750229145
Of course it is. It's not like it would be hard to make another either anyways, this isn't some deep encrypted secret.

It actually literally is. They own the software they can say what you can and can't do with it.

>has sponsored shit in-game
>try to be a serious game they even made anime where ''''girls'''' are playing their game

they just want to sell as a DLC like bamco did it. but i feel with enough backlash they will back down
>>
This is why you should never give Capcom money
>>
>>750228028
They will stop at no length to buff Ryu in this game, it feels.
>>
chat is this real
>>
>>750213402
So they are warning you instead of banning you, sounds good to me
>>
>>750214524
You aren't as clever as you think you are. A piece of software can be interpreted as a very large number.
>>
Fighting games are stupid and are for browns. This is such a stupid problem in the first place. Why don't they just design the hitboxes to be visibly identical to the character? It's clearly lazy shit and always has been and FGC is brown because only brownoids can tolerate such dogshit quality.
>>
>>750219909
I think Capcom already offers frame data of the sf6 characters on their official site
>>
>>750229680
>The game lets you see your hitbox in training mode.
If you are talking about sf6, then you cant officially see hitboxes and hurtboxes in training. Sf6 only offers frame data of your moves. You need a mod to make hitboxes appear
>>
>>750230898
>dont allow hitbox viewer thats is essential in such a competitive enviroment
if you need a third party software to understand such basic matchup information as 'am i spaced to where my jab will hit' then you genuinely need to quit fighting games.
>>
>>750234221
Because a kick connecting with a picoamstrong of the pinkie of my model shouldn't be the same as a kick connecting with the torso?
>>
FGC will never see the light, but datamining a game and solving it 100% just turns comp into flowchart slop.
Just look at SSBM
>>
>>750236861
Anything competitive eventually devolves into micro looking at the fundamentals to get an edge.
>>
>>750230465
lmao guess again bootlicker i have never played a capcom game unmodded
>>
>>750220150
It's not just that. Capcom went autistically anti-mod well before the shit with T6 happened. That's why they started putting that garbage enigma protector on so many of their releases.
Notice in the post, they specificly mention they believe the site got its data through modding tools.

>>750240986
This, it's nonsense. They've already released an ingame way to look at frame data but no way to see hurtboxes/hitboxes, I don't see how they could think getting rid of ways to look at that could be a good idea.
My best guess is that Capcops are retarded.
>>
>>750233945
Yes, but frame data values would, almost certainly, and I truly mean like 99.999%, would not meet the Originality threshold to get Copyright protective, the phonebook ruling (Feist) thankfully put an end to factual data and information being copyrighted

The person running the website should tell capcom to pound sand
>>
>>750213402
Claude, start heating the oil
>>
this seems like nothing
the problem isn't the data, it was how the data was obtained
>>
>>750213402
>Oh, we didn't actually use any software for detecting the hitboxes, it's just our estimate from gameplay experience
and the case is dropped
>>
Seeing hitboxes and even framedata in real matches wouldn't even be that helpful. It would still be cheating, because you're using an external program to give yourself information the other player in the match can't, but I really don't think it would actually help much and the increased screen clutter might even be a hindrance. Afaik even when it's possible to leave them on in matches everyone turns them off.
Like by the time the hitbox is drawn on screen it has already done what it was going to do, either it was touching your character or it wasn't, you aren't going to be seeing the hitbox and reacting to it. Framedata might be slightly more useful since it could help identify safe vs punishable divekick heights and shit but again in real matches most of the time you have to make your next decision before you can see the info that would help you make that decision on screen. I guess if you're new enough at the game that you legit don't know whether something is plus or negative then it could give you a significant advantage against other noobs but there's like a dozen way more effective ways to cheat if you're going to. Just a script that autotechs throws 50% of the time would be 100x more advantageous and just as hard to detect in random netplay matches.
It's not cheating to use it in training mode and should be available by default, blame the devs not the modders if you feel disadvantaged by other people practicing more effectively than you.
>>
>>750240986
The supercombo ones are redrawn for one or two specific frames while UFD was using seemingly raw frame by frame screenshots with the frame viewer mod. Which sounds like a stupid distinction but matters both in the ease of legal proof and somewhat in the "promoting game raping baka gaijin mods" sense.
>>
>>750243131
You can just use colors to let you know without reading the number whether something is plus/safe/punishable and with hit stop there's enough time to react to that as there is whether you got hit or not to begin with.

The scripts should be easy to detect but they still don't because imagine Capcom doing anything
>>
>>750219909
Japan is crying about people playing Tekken 6 online
>>
They can't ban analysis of hitboxes. They're not claiming to even try to. What they're saying is you can't hack their binary and publish the results as that's confidential. Is that true? Well that's up to a court of law to decide. But you could use computer vision and a screen capture or a video camera pointed at the screen to do this.

The solution is to develop a high quality open source fighting game toolkit and simply play your own games with that. Sooner or later CAPCOM will resort to cutting off accounts or charging your credit card for infringements, you name it. Why give them the pleasure?
>>
>>750243275
You should know that in 90% of cases already though even as an intermediate player
And even in the very framedata-signficant SF6 there's still usually an RPS around minus frames and cancels and range, being -2 doesn't mean your turn is guaranteed over if you have a cancel option that frametraps from it or can walk back and spacing trap their jab etc and even if you have nothing else there's always minus frames into perfect parry

There's no good way to detect clientside scripts, that's why riot has such invasive cancerous anticheat that demands full access to everything running on your system and even those are still inherently limited to looking for certain obviously sketchy activities like external program hooks. Unless they force you to only run a short list of approved software on your PC some sort of scripting is always going to be possible.
Ultimately it doesn't matter that much, fighting game cheating is even more pointless than most genres, scripts that do so much they can let a bad player win are obvious as fuck, scripts that only give a small advantage won't make a bad player good, and good players mostly only really care about offline results where cheating is much, much harder. If you run into an obvious cheater just laugh at their small dick and move on, they won't get better at the game and no one is impressed that they're in plat instead of gold or whatever they deserve, it's not like fps where raw aim is 90% of the game and a huge amount of the top echelon in cheating.
>>
>Here's more information about frame data and who is plus or minus on block/hit, when you can cancel your moves,
>WHOA YOU CAN'T SEE HOW FAR ZANGIEF'S LEG ACTUALLY GOES THAT"S TOO MUCH
I don't know why we have to be so anal about this. I think keeping information a secret in a competitive game is kind of silly.

on one hand, this is retarded.

on the other, keeping this information away from the faggots who ruin fighting games bie thena jus

>Furry fight fags finding out not even the flagship of the genre is LE COMPETITIVE SCENE crap they use to justify the censorship of sexy women.

They don't give a flying fuck except for people buying the game to boost their quarterly profits and DLC.
>>
>>750220150
>Tekken 6 piracy and whether mods and tools that alter an existing product
The funny thing about the rollback is that the main dev or some modder on some point will put some pronouns on their profile.
FGC troons just like to embrass themselves.
>>
>>750244309
Every move in this game has like 8 different frame advantages and that's not even including the ones that vary with positioning no fucking "intermediate" player knows all this shit as well as being able to differentiate light/medium/heavy for every special.

>There's no good way to detect clientside scripts
It's pretty fucking easy to tell if someone inputs throw and DI 2 frames after their opponent every fucking time. Yeah you can make it trickier than that by randomly varying the input timing but nobody is.

The main dev's pronoun is "it" because the main dev is Claude code or GPT
