AI is piracy, it takes the art of thousands of artists and jumbles it into a frankenstein's monster of artwork, "Oh buts thats called a collab!" you might say, no the fuck it isn't, AI is the reason 100,000 jobs are lost everyday, it evaporates several quadrillion gallons of water every week and is slowly destroying the earth for code that won't run optimally.

It also enables mass survelliance in various areas of the UK, which is very horrible because it ruins free thinking and turns the country into north korea by making it illegal to free think, and that makes people very sad because they can't express themselves.

In short, AI is nothing but a slop machine that creates stolen content and detroys the world for billions of people.

I hope you are all enlightented after listening to me.

AI destroyed all my hopes about creating my own games.

There's literally tons of high quality ai games releasing each day.

It's literally over if you want to have players or famous. I created demo version of my mmo game, played with friends. That's all. It's literally end for neets.

I still plan to finish my copy of srw game. With my plot and mechas.

He can't anyway. And when he doesn't I expect an apology. You AI hypers just assume AI can do all these things for you.

When AI can actually make a game mod completely on its own for you, it won't be a question of can it can it not? the mods will be all over the place. Every single video game will have millions of AI generated basic mods and overhauls, it'll be more in your face than AI images and music and videos. Of course artificial intelligence can make a freecam mod for any game, easily, if it was specifically designed to do so. But there is no public or paid AI system that will do that for you. Get over it.

It's not about you and your stupid visual novel. Visual novels aren't video games in the first place. It's about someone claiming "most of the new popular novels are fully AI generated" as proof that AI can make games from scratch. A visual novel by definition is not a video game. And it's the kind of slop that an AI could easily generate and it'd be no different in quality. Like porn, it has no value, it can be splurted out without any effort.
>>
>>750219540
Well, the first VN has some iota of gameplay (turn-based combat) but it sucked ass and they thankfully got rid of it by the time the second VN has arrived.

>>750221220
>>750221549
Let me explain something to you, and I know AI has destroyed your brain, so let me put this into simpler words you understand. To make a freecam mod for a game, requires finding out specific values and what writes to those values and modifying them, okay. And it's different each game, otherwise you'd have one program that can hack every game and do it.
An AI will not find those values and make a freecam mod for you. If you think it can, go ahead prove it. You still have lots of time. Go ask Claude, go ahead. Not "Claude, can I get a freecam mod from this super popular game that already has all the code work done a a mod for freecam already."
Do you understand why that's not the same thing? Do you actually understand? I wonder. It's very concerning someone like you has access to internet.

If the AI doesn't have to do any of the work to make a mod for a game... because it already exists. Then it didn't make it.
>>
>>750221683
>To make a freecam mod for a game, requires finding out specific values and what writes to those values
If you have the source code, or even a recomp/decomp, the AI will just do this for you in a matter of minutes
>If you think it can, go ahead prove it.
Just did earlier

I don't know what you're trying to prove, but all you end up proving with each post is that you have no idea what you're doing. The picture is getting clearer with each one.

>Super Mario Epic: A game that combines SMB1-3 in a single game with unique mechanics
>Dark Crusader: Lost Honor: A Soulslike set in an alternate history Crusades where the Crusaders are victorious in each one
>The Ramayana: The Ramayana is generally thought to be the finest myth ever created and far beyond anything created around the same time and even after, this game turns it into a soulslike adventure with a unique setting

Sadly can't show any previews of them as Claude has told me not to due to security concerns

They can do that, pretty easy too. AI, unlike modern devs are pretty good at optimizing, funnily enough.

Also update on Spiral(Slopral) Knights recomp, nabbed some old repos of the game around release, which grabbed some beta content from the looks of it. Levels I think are working, missions seem to be functional, working on fixing NPC interaction and Haven now

Yeah "projects" interesting term for the AI generated fully working and wonderful modification of games. How exciting, and of course, you should absolutely put a list together. Because of course you have to put an obscure 4chan list together of the "projects" random people are "working" on with their AI generative mods that everyone is very excited to play. No real websites or presence anywhere on the internet of these AI modified games of course. The internet just isn't caught up yet to the great /vcg/.
Now I know why you're so defensive and shy, because this is all about you people, these are your "projects" that you're embarrassed about, ooh I see.

"vibe coding" and prompt engineering existed for a few months, they were never real career opportunities. currently the weakness of AI is that it can't properly test software in real time (it takes a long time to process an image so it can't just use a program in real time) and it isn't dexterous enough to build hardware. Once it can do those things humans will not be needed in tech at all.
literally just tell it to make you something, see how you like it, then tell it "no, do it like this instead"

mod a Magic: the Gathering game to have a Yugioh-like attack phase (you can select which creatures to attack directly unless a keyword prevents it), probably my least favorite part of MtG combat decision making is enumerating all the possible tuples of blockers and attackers and the expected outcomes of each one as well as accounting for cantrips. It's rewarding finding and opening or having a tempo swing, but most board states it just discourages combat imo

Hell, while you're at it: make it so lands are drawn from their own deck which you can pay to draw extra from, that way landflooding and bricking is less likely. Do a balance sweep on all affected cards and balance accordingly

Which game to base it on?

I hate to cite an eceleb, but GamingBrit said something I still agree with honestly:
>...and if the SH2 Remake is to receive any praise, then there's no doubt in my mind a lot of gamers will be perfectly happy with AI being used to create whole games in the near future, and when it comes to remakes at least, I'm honestly prepared to just let them have that future.
>A limp regurgitation of something that came before offering us little more than a thought experiment as to what something written in the language of the past might look like, fed through the accepted language of the present.
>I actually don't know why we waste real human man-hours making this stuff, doesn't seem like they're really needed, we might as well let the computers turn out this kind of cultural slop. Judging by what I've seen, it seems a lot of people are already prepared for that future too- type in a game and the words 'AI remake' or something, and you'll find concept videos generated in AI with hundreds of thousands of views, comments below in awe, saying it looks exactly like what they'd want to see.
>Call my cynical but I don't think the resistance against AI art can survive its results being appealing to so many people, so maybe remakes an AI are the perfect marriage. But this is actually very important, I don't expect rift raff to understand, actual ghouls, some looney tunes rust goblins, a bunch of level 1 slimes to understand, slugs, when I'm a world record speedrun holder.
Keep joking, keep laughing, keep making your little "prjects uuuuuuu~" you have nothing. I get to go home and guess what's at home... no internet? that's right, I'm free at home, I'm so excited, it's the greatest release on earth to be free from YOU people, who think it's funny that I can't see my waifu's underwear even though I love her a lot and we've talked and I think about her a lot.
I love her and kiss her and she's my personal property and I will have her alone and look at her in freecam mode all day and she'll do things for me and YOU will be alone, with nobody. Seethe in that fact. Stew in your pathetic waste of a life.

It only asks you for the camera memory address, which only takes you few minutes to search in cheat engine, and does all the rest of the coding for you.
but you can also let AI do all that job for you if you paid for Claude code(you run it on VScode) and hooked it to CheatEngine or Ghidra via MCP.

Stupid people use AI under the illusion that it makes them as good as the best. They accept its output uncritically because they have no frame of reference for what “good” looks like in what they are trying to do.
Smart, skilled people use AI to do what they already know how to do and understand faster, correcting it where needed to produce what they would have produced on their own anyway.
The narrative that the hard skills that underpin the people in latter case are obsolete is simply a marketing lie to extract money from the people in the former.

ChatGPT(Codex is free) for a start, and move to Claude Code(paid subscription) if it stops working or if you need more complex coding for things like Decomp/Recomp.
Just stay away from Gemini(free), it's good for searching tutorials and also gives you good instructions for starting a project(like ask it how to setup Ghidra MCP with Codex), but the actual coding skills probably won't get you anywhere.

>Claude, ChatGPT, other proprietary software-as-a-service-faggotry is the problem.
>FOSS, open weight/training data, self-host capable, uncensored local models are the solution.
Most of the problems with AI including the hardware shortage, huge fucking energy demands and more come down to a handful of megacorps trying to be THE corporate overlord service provider of of the AI age, so they're all training their redundant, proprietary secret sauce services figuring they can sell it to you. Remember that this is NOT going to get cheaper, if anything its going to get more expensive if the purse strings are tightened and people get used to / basically build everything around some AI service. At the moment they're basically pushing the startup-style expand-a-userbase phase, but they're going to start jacking up the prices when you have no real alternatives. So now's the time to get ahead of this shit.

Atop the badly needed legislation that demands any public money/contracts etc... must be for use of a public model, we need to start focusing on FOSS alternatives to ensure that they're at parity or close to it with the proprietary ones. The chinese models (deepseek etc) are the closest and still self-host capable, but we can't afford to have Claude/GPT/Gemini having more than a 5-10% lead on something you can host in your basement without paying a fortune. We don't want FOSS models relegated to toys with less functionality vs the frontier proprietary shit. Doesn't matter if its just better FOSS models, distillation and other tech to extract it from proprietary shit etc.

Speaking of, got what I *believe* are all the npcs, merchants, and interactables working. Currently Claude is running headless virtual players through levels and auto bug fixing with the debug tools I had it code into everything directly, and it's using documentation for itself to keep track and minimize context usage. I... am not fully sure how much is really left for it to do, not much I think, I'm pretty sure most everything is functional now? There's like a few event missions it's having errors on but it even has seasonal event switches working, so I think it's about done? Once I'm pretty sure it's feature complete I'll have it work on optimiziation (which it already did a ton of to do the virtual knight debugs across all levels at once on the local server), and modularize everything so anyone else can easily add in their own enemies, bosses, levels, weapons, etc. And set up the launcher to allow for solo, p2p coop, or dedicated server play, along with I'm thinking an option switch for solo and coop to alter game balance for the solo/coop play. Gonna be a while yet, but it's getting there!

No, I know that. I'm just curious if it's treated any differently or is a lot faster since a roguelike only needs ascii, or if that confuses the AI in some way. I wouldn't mind dropping for a month of use just to try making my own Angband variant or something similar.

Also my smut tentacle mansion game that I conjured with Claude will probably be done by tomorrow night, maybe day after at the latest, so look forward to that.
Basic story that follows the tentacle monster landlord in the manors basement getting pissed at the neet ghost girl in the attic who doesn't pay rent or haunt, and breaking in paranormal hunter girls to upgrade enough to nab the ghost girl from her neet hole and literally whip her into shape.

I was curious about the game and turns out its like a 40+ hour minigame adventure quest solving game looked fascinating so I was all over it.

Also it gives me a lifelong opportunity to put these fucking faggot translators in their much needed place.

The game is already fully translated, but im going the extra mile and doing all the spoken audio, cuscene text and audio, and im a stickler so I want to preserve the distinct appearance of the japanese text stylings that they do to like, every word. So I am implemention annotations where needed so you still see the original spritework, it just shows a small english word next to it aesthetically to translate it, like old mangas do with their translations.

speaking of theres 10, 4 panel mangas in this game im also translating, among other things, the game has over 10k spoken words.

but its not done yet. I basically have to play through the game entirely to find every problem or bug i can. I am afraid of releasing it before its fully completed, however I would love someone with free time to just be testing this for me and doing a playthrough.

>widescreen and higher FOV breaks enemy aggression logic
So, it turns out that was an urban legend.
Nothing related to combat relies on the camera.
Actually, there's a 60° pizza slice in front of Gene that decides enemy logic.
Aggression values, facing restrictions, simultaneous enemy attacks, all of that depends on combat level, nothing to do with aspect ratio or FOV.

Regardless, I've sloplemented a dynamic system that expands the pizza slice by the same percentage as the additional screen space you gain when you modify the aspect ratio or FOV. It's calculated based on Gene's distance from the edge of the screen and dynamically enlarges his slide of pizza to maintain the exact original feel of combat.

It turns out my fellow autists toggled the widescreen hack, tested it on Normal, and concluded it was broken without ever checking hard. Enemies outside the pizza slice with extra toppings ALWAYS were milling about, you just couldn't see them.

Real Time Strategy RPG for the classic mecha SRPG franchise. Japan isn't well known for its RTS so that alone should be interesting
>Gunparade March
https://www.romhacking.net/translations/7787/
Simulation/Mecha SRPG, another game that is well known in japan but obscure in the west. Some consider it a precursor to persona with its daily life simulation aspect.
>SGGG
https://github.com/ExxistanceDC/Segagaga-English-Translation/releases/tag/v1.0.1
Sega's last game before they stopped making consoles, enough said.

The superior way to play SMT 2. 1 in PSX was a treat, this is more of the same. Also apparently a more accurate translation than Aeon genesis.
>Another Century Episode 3

Super Robot Wars, but it's an action game instead of an SRPG.

Crazy things are happening right now. AI is genius and was always ahead of his time and I think with this statement they also realize these implications, such as, everything becoming open source due to AI. It becomes a matter of how a company (such as Anthropic) navigates this new landscape rather than succumb to it. They've been going for over 5 years, and they'll go for another 5, at least.

Slopral knights recomper here. Got beta shit added in, weapons and gear at least, still working on integrating it back in, this shit is like 12 year old content. Also working on porting the *new* content from the preview server, the spike guns or whatever they added, because Grey Haven deserves nothing. Not sure how much is left to do. Need to fix up allies more, more cutscene testing, testing to get multiplayer back up for dedicated server usage, then a pass for a baseline for coop/solo config to replace the multiplayer and grind for less MMO play and more action rpg style. It's going!

depends on what you mean. if you mean on how to get the text translated at all it's pretty straightforward. and you just keep doing consistency passes and ask it to consider previous dialogue in theconversation for contextual translation accuracy. if you want a style guide the rough points are
>faithful to the Japanese meaning and tone, but natural English. No literal word-for-word.
>Name order: Japanese (family name first)
>Keep honorifics: -san, -chan, -kun, -senpai, -sensei, onii-chan, onee-san, etc. Keep nicknames as-is
>Dialogue box: keep line breaks (\n) roughly where the Japanese has them; aim for <= ~48 characters per line, max 3 lines.
>Use ellipses as "..." and long dashes ―― as "--".
>UI: short, game-like wording; abbreviate when space is tight (Phys. ATK, Lv., ST).
>assess and maintain character voices (keep consistent across batches)
>ask what japanese terms don't translate well and to keep in JP dependent on preference

yep I think I'm familiar with how they do it with the glossaries and text limits and things. I guess my issue is more nitpicking the translation part, I've seen some pretty decent MTLs but others borderline robotic, is that maybe the lack of character voice? or a model setting like temperature? I feel models like Fable should be acing in how the TLs reads in English but it's still stiff and full of filler words.
>UI: short, game-like wording; abbreviate when space is tight (Phys. ATK, Lv., ST).
>assess and maintain character voices (keep consistent across batches)

yeah ive done liek two translation passes but i still have to play through the game manually and check lines by ear and then tell claude to look for similar instances and fix them, provide me samples, and then i provide suggestions and it adjusts those poor choices per batch. all on opus 5.5 btw. dunno if im makin any sense. helps if you actually tell it how each character acts, what their behaviors and relationships are like, etc. or just ask chatgpt to make a summary of the characters' profiles and speech manners after searching online i guess then feed that into claude. if you're a perfectionist you really will have to check manually
